FORMER OBAMA ADVISOR: JOE BIDEN VS. HILLARY CLINTON RACE WOULD BE ‘FAMILY FEUD’

NOTHING LIKE THE FAMILY EATING THEIR YOUNG (OR OLD IN THIS CASE)

Dan Pfeiffer, a former senior advisor to President Obama, described a potential presidential run by Vice President Joe Biden as a “family feud,” if he challenged Hillary Clinton for the nomination.

“It’s very tough,” Pfeiffer admitted during an interview on CNN, calling Biden “one of the best guys you’ll ever be around” but added that other Obama staffers were “incredibly fond” of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“This would be a family feud, a lot of people knew everyone on both sides, you know both of the candidates,” Pfeiffer admitted when asked about how Obama loyalties would split.
Pfeiffer pointed out that former staffers from President Bill Clinton’s White House and Hillary Clinton’s campaign came to work for Obama and that many staffers from Obama’s White House went to work for Hillary’s current presidential campaign.
He pointed out that Biden was the “most clear continuation of the Obama legacy” who also had his own record and was “energetic and young at heart.”
“He runs full force at everything he does, he’s full of energy,” he added, praising Biden.
On Twitter this morning, Pfeiffer continued his praise of Biden.
“Lots of reasons to run or not run, but legacy shouldn’t be one,” he said. “Vice President Joe Biden’s place in the history books as greatest Vice President ever is secure no matter what.”\

FIRE EPA EMPLOYEES, SAYS GEOLOGIST: ‘WHERE IS DONALD TRUMP WHEN YOU NEED HIM?’

Dave Taylor, the retired geologist who predicted the EPA project that caused the massive 3 million toxic spill in Colorado on August 5 would fail, says the EPA employees who caused the spill should be fired as soon as possible.

In a second letter to the editor published in the Silverton Standard on Thursday, Taylorwrote:
When I wrote my Letter to the Editor, published July 30, 2015, I warned of potential problems with the EPA’s Red and Bonita mine plugging scheme. At the time, I had no idea that the EPA could be so incredibly incompetent as to cause the failure of the Gold King Mine plug. Breaching the plug, August 5, 2015, resulted in a catastrophic deluge of 3 million gallons of contaminated water and mine waste that flowed down Cement Creek to the Animas River.
“In my opinion,” Taylor continued, “the EPA employees responsible for the breach should be held accountable and fired ASAP.”
“But of course, that probably won’t happen. Following the VA investigation, which took many months, only one employee was fired,” Taylor noted.
“Where is Donald Trump when you need him?” Taylor asked rhetorically.
“You’re fired!” Taylor added, indicating the message he wanted Trump to send to the EPA employees responsible for the breach.
“In the mining business, one must have the attitude that all accidents are preventable and prepare accordingly,” Taylor wrote.
“Obviously, the EPA was over confident and didn’t take the time to stand back, evaluate and think about how much water was upstream of the plug, what the hydrostatic pressure might be and what could happen if the plug was disturbed,” the retired geologist added.
“Over the years, I have worked on similar delicate projects. I always thought out my most effective Plan ‘A’ and subsequent additional back-up Plans ‘B,’ ‘C’ and ‘D’ just in case ‘Murphy’s Law’ came into play,” he noted.
“I don’t think the EPA even thought about a back-up plan, afterall, they are geniuses and could never make a mistake!” Taylor commented.
“The EPA is going to be covered up with follow-up testing, lawsuits and clean-up efforts,” Taylor predicted.
Taylor just might see Trump follow his recommendation about the firing of EPA employees responsible for the August 5 spill.
On August 13, eight days after the spill, GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump toldtalk radio host Hugh Hewitt, “[t]his is all the more example why EPA, we should do it locally. We shouldn’t be doing it from Washington.”
“Often times for a thing like this, you have to just get rid of them [the bureaucrats in charge],” Trump added. That would presumably include EPA administrator Gina McCarthy, who visited Colorado earlier this month but didn’t go to see the site of the spill.

JOHN KASICH’S OBAMACARE MEDICAID EXPANSION SLAMMED AT OHIO AFP EVENT

Americans for Prosperity (AFP), one of the largest conservative activist groups in the United States, held their annual “Defending the American Dream Summit” in Columbus, Ohio, this week, but the state’s Republican Governor John Kasich was not invited.

Kasich’s decision to expand Medicaid under Obamacare—a move that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled was optional and up to state discretion—is a sore subject for fiscal conservatives and led to him being, not just left out of an event held in his backyard, but attacked by several of the event’s speakers, including former Texas Gov. Rick Perry and AFP President Tim Phillips.
Obamacare critics do not like how the law allows Medicaid, originally enacted as a safety net to provide health coverage for poor mothers and children, to be expanded to cover able-bodied, working-age adults. Federal funds cover the costs of the new enrollees but will start scaling back in 2017. Moreover, states are on the hook for administrative costs for signing up the new enrollees, whose numbers have far exceeded estimates.
For fiscal conservatives, like the activists at the AFP conference, the massive spending incurred by Medicaid expansion is especially distasteful, and Kasich’s support of it is viewed as a heretical departure from conservative principles, much like the way school choice advocates view former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s support for Common Core.
Kasich has defended his decision to authorize Medicaid expansion in Ohio on religious grounds, a rationale that has fallen flat with conservatives. According to a report by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, when Kasich was questioned about Medicaid expansion at a California conference sponsored by the Koch brothers, AFP’s benefactors, he replied, “When I get to the pearly gates, I’m going to have an answer for what I’ve done for the poor.”
Groups like Watchdog.org, a project of the Franklin Center for Government Accountability, and the Foundation for Government Accountability have joined AFP in criticizing Kasich. Nearly half a million Ohioans signed up under Kasich’s Medicaid expansion, and the plan was already 33 percent over budget in just its first year.
According to Watchdog’s Jason Hart, Ohio’s Medicaid enrollment numbers under Obamacare now exceed 600,000 and have cost taxpayers $4.4 billion.
Phillips, the AFP President, mentioned Kasich’s Medicaid expansion when he addressed the nearly 4,o00 activists on the conference’s first day. Even though he never said Kasich’s name, the implication was clear when he vowed that they would continue to fight against Medicaid expansion: “Whether proposed by a Democrat or a Republican, we’ll continue to oppose it with all we’ve got.”
“President Obama and some Republicans want to take millions of the most vulnerable citizens and they want to throw them into a Medicaid bureaucracy where the care is substandard,” continued Phillips, as the audience cheered in agreement. “They call that compassion. We call it immoral.”
Perry also took a swipe at his fellow Republican presidential contender during his remarks on Saturday. Kasich has repeatedly claimed that the federal funds going to pay for Ohio’s Medicaid expansion “belong” to Ohioans and would be spent in other states if Ohio had not claimed them. Perry rejected this argument as “just nonsense.”
“That money doesn’t come from an endless vault of money in Washington. It is borrowed from bankers in China and children in Cleveland and Columbus,” Perry added. “Justifying Medicaid expansion on the grounds of returning federal money to your home state can only be done if you turn a blind eye to the fact that we are $18 trillion in debt.”
Avik Roy, Senior Advisor to Perry’s presidential campaign and well-regarded as a health care policy expert before joining the campaign, spoke on a well-attended panel Saturday morning on the issue of Medicaid expansion. Like Perry, Roy found Kasich’s justifications wholly unconvincing.

STEMEXPRESS CEO: TECHS ‘FREAK OUT’ WHEN RECEIVING WHOLE BABY HEADS IN THE MAIL

Image

A Federal Judge lifted the temporary restraining order blocking the Center for Medical Progress from releasing a video taken secretly with StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer.

As the order was lifted, CMP immediately released a transcript of the conversation in advance of StemExpress trying to get another restraining order. David Daleiden, founder of CMP, told Breitbart News he is working feverishly to cut a new video. The transcript paints a graphic picture.
StemExpress is a California-based privately held company that buys baby body parts, repackages them and sells them at enormous markups to research facilities around the country. Until this current scandal, her company bought most of its body parts from Planned Parenthood clinics. StemExpress announced two weeks ago it would sever ties with the abortion giant.
The transcript, which Breitbart News obtained from Daleiden, shows Dyer admitting that her company receives intact fetuses, referred to in the transcript as “cases.” She tells an actor posing as a buyer, “Oh, yeah, I mean if you had intact cases, which we’ve done a lot, we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety.”
At one point Dyer laughs about mailing out whole baby heads to her lab buyers in the mail. “They’ll open the box, go, ‘Oh God!’ So yeah, so many of the academic labs cannot fly like that. They are not capable.” She says lab technicians “freak out, and have meltdowns” when receiving whole heads.
Dyer complains that sometimes the intact fetuses are “destroyed” by bad handling at the abortion facility. “…Because it’s just, and the procurement for us, I mean it can go really sideways, depending on the facility, and then our samples are destroyed, and we’re like, ‘Really?’ This was all so much work, and then just to have them be destroyed is awful. I mean we have researchers wait forever, and they want certain things, you know, perfectly done, so we started bringing them back even to manage it from a procurement expert standpoint.”
She complains to the buyer about bad conditions in the clinics. “I’ve seen staph come out of clinics. I’ve seen all sorts of things come out of clinics…”
Asked what would make her lab happy, Dyer says, “Another 50 livers a week.” She says the volume of baby parts is enormous. She says her company will see consistent growth in the buying and selling of baby parts.
Dyer says she feels great support from Planned Parenthood, particularly since StemExpress is viewed as a “champion of the cause. They need champions and if you’re not a champion, then you should go.”
She also describes Planned Parenthood as a huge supplier of baby parts. “Planned Parenthood has volume,” she says. “..they are a volume business.” Planned Parenthood insists abortion is only 3% of their business, a figure that has been widely debunked, even by abortion advocates.

GABBY GIFFORDS, MARK KELLY: WE’RE FOR ‘GUN RESPONSIBILITY’ NOT ‘GUN CONTROL’

AP Photo/Tom Uhlman

On August 20, the Essex News Daily ran a story in which Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords claimed they “actually do not support ‘gun control’ in the traditional sense of the phrase,” but “gun responsibility.”

This comes after they have spent nearly three years supporting new gun trafficking laws, new laws on gun show sales, new laws on internet sales, limits on ammunition magazine capacity, expanded background checks, and gun control ubiquitously under the guise of domestic violence prevention.
Yet they say they are not for gun control.
They supported expanded background checks when Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) pushed them in 2013, in Washington state during the 2014 midterm elections, and, more recently, they sided with Sandy Hook Promise on SB 941 in Oregon.
Although SB 941 makes background checks universal and sets the stage for the state to confiscate privately-owned guns more easily, Kelly and Giffords say they are not for gun control.
On March 4 Giffords stood with Representative
Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA)
18%
(D-CA-5th) to demand that every would-be gun owner pass the same background check her attacker passed, yet she and her husband claim they are not for gun control “in the traditional sense.”

According to the Essex News Daily, Kelly said, “Nobody likes to be controlled.” He went on to say that the gun control group he and Giffords launched simply supports “basic principles” to keep communities safer.

STONEWALLED: FEDS HIDE FISCAL DETAILS ABOUT VAST OPERATION TO RESETTLE ILLEGAL ALIEN MINORS

asylum

Illegal aliens who show up at the border have been resettled all across United States of America instead of being detained and deported, as Donald Trump recently called for in his new immigration plan.

According to data from the Justice Department obtained by Breitbart News, 96 percent of Central Americans caught illegally crossing into the country last summer are still in the United States. Now Breitbart News has learned exclusively that a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from a pro-security group about the cost of this operation is being stonewalled.
In January of 2015, the Immigration Reform Law Institute, on behalf of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), filed a FOIA request to discover the cost of accommodating the tens of thousands of illegal unaccompanied minors who came across the border encouraged by President Obama’s 2012 executive amnesty for illegal youths.
The FOIA letter made five requests of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency: that the federal agency detail (1) the costs of building of family detention centers; (2) the costs of apprehending, processing and detaining unaccompanied minors; (3) the costs transporting, transferring, removing and repatriating unaccompanied minors; (4) the costs related to ICE’s representation of government in removal procedures involving unaccompanied minors; and (5) the number of instances where objections to the return of unaccompanied minors were raised by the governments of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
The federal agency, however, refused to answer many of these questions– instead only partially answering two of the five requests. The agency provided only the costs of transporting, transferring and removing illegal minors, as well as the costs of the man-hours such tasks required. Those costs totaled $58.2 million—quadrupling ICE’s costs of $15.6 million in the year previous.
FAIR told Breitbart News that the agency did not provide clear documentation nor explanation as to how it arrived at this estimation.
FAIR asserts that, “The failure to provide most of the cost information related to the surge of [unaccompanied minors] indicates that the government has either failed to properly document those costs, or is refusing to reveal them.”
Because this FOIA request only inquired into the fiscal impact on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency– it does not at all take into account the cost incurred by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) nor the public education system. Because most of the unaccompanied minors were turned over to HHS following their apprehension, FAIR notes that HHS’ costs “for providing shelter, food, education, health care and other services, likely vastly exceed additional costs incurred by ICE.”
The flood of minors has also placed fiscal strains on our public education system. FAIR notes that, “68,541 [unaccompanied minors] were apprehended entering the U.S. Virtually all of them have been allowed to remain in the U.S., at least temporarily.”
Because federal law dictates that all children are entitled to an education regardless of their immigration status, the fiscal burden of educating these students has fallen onto our public education system.
As FAIR notes, educating 68,541 illegal immigrant children at “an average annual cost of $12,401 per child enrolled in K-12 education, the annual cost to local schools is at least $850 million. However, since virtually all of the [unaccompanied minors] are non-English proficient, the actual costs are likely substantially greater.”
The increased costs and difficulties associated with educating illegal minors from poor and developing countries has been well-documented. As Fox News Latino reported in June of this year, the border surge has left many “schools struggling with influx of unaccompanied minors.” While the federal government’s policy of releasing illegal minors into American communities imposes burdens all across our nation’s education system, it will perhaps hurt minority American students most profoundly, by straining the educational resources needed in their communities.
For instance, New York’s Hempstead School District, which is a 96 percent black and Hispanic district, had about 6,700 students dispersed amongst its 10 schools and usually receives an average of a couple hundred new students every year. “However, last summer’s enrollment skyrocketed to about 1,500 new kids – most of them undocumented immigrants.” Fox News Latino writes, “The crush of new enrollees left the district scrambling, forcing it to dip into its emergency reserves to shell out more than $6 million to hire more English as a Second Language teachers and additional staff to alleviate overcrowded classrooms. Still, it has not been enough. The average classroom in the district now has about 40 to 50 children and [as one teacher explained is] posing a safety issue… ‘You have to understand,’ [one teacher said], ‘many of the children are not even proficient in their native language, Spanish, and now we have to teach them how to speak English. That can be very difficult.’”
Deporting instead of resettling illegal immigrants would save taxpayer dollars in two ways.
First, by deterring future border crossings, it would reduce the amount of illegal immigration in the future. As FAIR explains, refusing to implement immigration law has only encouraged more illegal immigrants to unlawfully enter the United States: “In July 2015, the Government Accountability Office confirmed that President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals [DACA] program played a substantial role in triggering the surge of [unaccompanied minors] in 2014.”
Second, deporting rather than resettling illegal immigrants would save the costs of feeding, clothing, housing, educating, hospitalizing, and caring for illegal immigrants and their relatives. A previous study conducted by FAIR documented that illegal immigrants cost U.S. taxpayers about $113 billion every year. After FAIR explains that by comparison, “The estimated cost of deporting an illegal alien is $8,318. Using just the partial enumerated $58.2 million costs to ICE and the conservative $850 million estimate for education of [unaccompanied minors] resettled in the U.S., the amount of taxpayer money spent on dealing with unaccompanied minors would have paid for the removal of an additional 109,000 illegal aliens.”

PLANNED PARENTHOOD SUES FLORIDA AFTER GETTING CAUGHT PERFORMING ILLEGAL ABORTIONS

Stephen Brashear/ Getty Images North America / AFP

In a series of surprise inspections of abortion clinics, the Florida state Agency for Health Care Administration found that Planned Parenthood had repeatedly violated its license to perform abortions only during the first trimester, defined as the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Now the abortion giant is suing the state of Florida, claiming that the AHCA changed its definition of the first trimester.
The AHCA investigation found 32 such violations, with Planned Parenthood performing illegal abortions at three of its 16 abortion clinics in Florida, in St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, and Naples. The agency also found that a fourth facility in Pembroke Pines did not maintain proper logs for the disposal of fetal remains.
Gov. Rick Scott ordered the inspections after the Center for Medical Progress launched an ongoing series of video exposés that show the nation’s largest abortion provider harvesting and selling aborted fetal body parts, becoming the 11th state to launch an investigation into the multimillion dollar abortion company.
“The videos coming out about Planned Parenthood are deeply troubling to say the least. It is against the law for any organization to sell body parts,” Scott said in a statement.
The agency said it was taking “immediate actions” against the first three facilities, ordering them to cease providing second trimester abortions, and saying it was considering “administrative sanctions.”
“We will take immediate actions against these three facilities for performing second trimester abortions without a proper license,” said AHCA spokesperson Shelisha Coleman. “These facilities have been notified to immediately cease performing second trimester abortions.”
Planned Parenthood countered by filing a lawsuit Monday in Leon County Circuit Court to stop the state from pursuing any action against the three clinics it found to be performing abortions illegally.

BORDER PATROL UNION RECOGNIZED FOR COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM: AUDIENCE REMINDED ‘#POLICELIVESMATTER’

#PoliceLivesMatter

The National Border Patrol Agents Council (NBPC) vice-president received a communications award from the nation’s largest employee union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). The award recognized the Border Patrol union’s “The Green Line” podcast. During his acceptance of the award at the AFGE national convention in Orlando, Florida, the NBPC executive reminded the audience that police lives matter.

The Clyde M. Webber Award for General Excellence in Labor Communications was accepted by NBPC Vice-President Shawn Moran following the presentation by AFGE President J. David Cox. The award is the the AFGE’s top award for communications.
“I am just one union representative, one Border Patrol agent that gets to present our issues to the public,” NBPC Vice-President Shawn Moran told Breitbart Texas. “This recognition shows that people value the work of Border Patrol agents and honor the sacrifices that have been made. Now it is time to get the sacrifice of Javier Vega recognized as a line of duty death and to further help protect agents working hard every day against all threats.”
Citing a team effort, Moran stood before the AFGE audience and thanked the NBPC executive board for their support in carrying the message of the union to those they represent. He then shifted his comments to the members of his union. “But this job is not handled just by myself or by Thane, but by a team of Border Patrol agents who are out there every day doing what our mottos says: Protecting Those Who Protect Our Borders,” Moran stated. “Without them we would not be standing here on this stage today.”

Moran dedicated the award to fallen Border Patrol agents who have lost their lives in the line of duty since the last convention. Those were, “Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega, Jr., gunned down in front of his family by two previously deported illegal aliens, and our former Executive VP Rich Pierce who succumbed to cancer two years ago,” Moran said during his speech.
“I want to speak to an issue important to our union reps who are here today and to Border Patrol agents nationwide,” Moran continued. “We realize that LEOs (Law Enforcement Officers) are a minority in this federation and that our positions are not always popular. Police officers, Correctional officers, and Border Patrol agents are union members…your brothers and sisters…not the enemy or some faceless oppressor.”
“120 Border Patrol agents have made the ultimate sacrifice, they deserve respect not vilification,” he said. “I’d like to quote the guiding principle of the National Law Enforcement memorial in Washington DC:  It is Proverbs 28:1 ‘The wicked flee though no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as lions.’”
“This nation is one built on the rule of law,” he concluded. “Police Lives Matter.”

CALIFORNIA TO SEIZE FARMS FOR JERRY BROWN’S WATER TUNNELS

The State of California is planning to use eminent domain law to acquire hundreds of farms in the Delta for a controversial, multi-billion-dollar underground water tunnel project proposed by Gov. Jerry Brown.

According to documents obtained by environmental group Restore the Delta, state water exporters and the Delta Design Construction Enterprise (DCE) division of the Department of Water Resources are planning to acquire 300 pieces of land from Delta farms to ensure right of way for the Bay Delta Conservation Plan tunnel project.
The $15 billion project, under development for the last eight years, has long been favored by Brown, who wants to use the twin underground tunnels to move water from the northern part of the state to the south by diverting it around the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.
But the project has faced stiff opposition from environmental groups like Restore the Delta and others who say the tunnels are not environmentally sustainable.
In a statement, Restore the Delta executive director Barbara Barrigan-Parilla blasted the “arrogance” of state officials for using eminent domain to acquire farmers’ land.
“While Delta and good-government activists are busy mobilizing comments in a democratic process, we discover state agencies view public oversight as simply a distraction,” Barrigan-Parilla said. “These documents arrogantly envision groundbreaking ceremonies as early as July 2016. Bulldozers and cement trucks are ready to roll! Red ribbons are budgeted! All for a $60 billion boondoggle without even one permit. Clearly, water officials under the Brown Administration view the Delta as a colony.”
Brown has tussled with environmental groups over the tunnels before. In May, the governor told critics of the proposal to “shut up, because you don’t know what they hell you’re talking about.” Brown said that “millions of hours” had gone into poring over every aspect of the tunnels, and has called the project an “imperative” that “must move forward.”
Yet despite the governor’s enthusiasm, the tunnel project has not yet been approved.
Water exporters and some agricultural interest groups support the tunnels. Californians for Water Security, a group made up of the California Chamber of Commerce and various farm and labor groups, has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on television and radio advertisements in support of the project.
But California’s plan to use eminent domain to acquire the land has created an increasingly rare moment of unity between environmental groups and Delta farmers.
“It is wrong and premature that the Department of Water Resources has a unit creating a secret land acquisition plan to take 150-year-old farms, like ours, through condemnation,” Courtland farmer Richard Elliott said in a statement, noting that his family has never sold any of its land. “The entire plan doesn’t make for sustainable food policies, smart land use practices, or even common sense.”
According to the documents, the state would make Delta farmers one offer to purchase their land, after which the farmers would have 30 days to accept or reject a deal. But after those 30 days, the state could still plan to force the owners to sell using eminent domain law.
The plan also calls outright for minimal “external” oversight.
“All transactions are conducted, reviewed and approved internally by DCE staff and managers to maintain control and avoid unnecessary delays to schedule,” the documents state. “DCE shall seek to minimize external review and approval requirements.”
Tony Francois, an attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation who specializes in water and property rights, tells Breitbart News that the use of eminent domain does not allow for a proper system of “checks and balances,” even for controversial state infrastructure projects.
“The fact that they don’t have the project approved has generally not been a bar to acquiring the property,” Francois said. “If the project is controversial, they don’t need any special approvals to acquire the property, and that starts making the project look more inevitable. [State contractors could say] ‘Hey, we’ve already spent the money acquiring the property, we better get started building it.”
Francois added that the use of eminent domain exempts the state from being subject to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) environmental impact reviews, which havecaused stalling on some infrastructure projects for years, or even decades.
“If these reports are correct, then we have further confirmation that the tunnels project has been a foregone conclusion,” state Sen. Lois Wolk (D-Davis) told the Associated Presson Monday. Wolk said the environmental impact review, “which should be used to choose a project, is simply being used to justify a favored project.”
Francois says the state is on solid ground for claims of eminent domain to acquire the property, as long as it can prove the water tunnel project constitutes a “public good.” Less clear, he says, is the issue of “just compensation” for the land the farmers will be giving up.
“Are they only taking the property they need for the underground tunnels, or are they taking the surface estate as well?” Francois said. “It’s the cutting [the land] up that creates a significant problem that farmers think they are not getting properly compensated for.”
According to the AP, the tunnel project is officially in a public comment phase until October.

MUST-SEE: BLACK WOMAN RIPS COUNCIL OVER ILLEGAL ALIENS

LOS ANGELES — Chanell Temple, a black woman originally from Huntington Park, delivered a strident, politically incorrect speech against illegal immigration on Monday evening at the local city council meeting.

Temple, who now lives in the Hawthorne area of Los Angeles, was protesting the council’s recent decision to appoint two illegal aliens to city commissions. She told Breitbart News she had not intended to speak at the meeting, but was offended when someone compared illegal aliens to slaves. She added that she supports Donald Trump “a hundred percent.”
Here are her full remarks (in video and transcript below):
…undocumented illegal immigrants who have been assigned to the position of commissioner.
The Huntington Park City Council is being paid with taxpayers’ money to do a job within rules and regulations. According to your board behind you, it says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” I want to paraphrase that and say: Where there is no law, the people perish.
In the U.S. we have one rule of law. I also want to talk about the Fourteenth Amendment, which was added to the Constitution in regards to blacks being given birthright citizenship because blacks helped build this country, including the White House—twice.
(Interjection: Right on!)
Please do not tarnish the name of black slaves by comparing them to your plight. There’s no comparison. None.
Black slaves did not break into this country, okay. They were brought here against their will. Also, black slaves are not immigrants. Immigrants are people with a choice, they come here by choice. Black slaves didn’t have choice.
That’s offensive to me because I’m a descendant of a black slave. And trust me, Ancestry.com works and I can trace my people back from when they landed here on the boat. I know the village where my people came from in Africa, OK? So please, do not try to get away with using that. That’s very offensive.
This country has been good to illegal immigrants. You have been given jobs, houses, tax money, free tax money, welfare, Social Security, they open up business for you guys, et cetera.
None—I don’t know of any illegal aliens who have been hung from a tree. I don’t know of any of them illegal aliens who have dogs been sicced on. So that’s very offensive for you to sit up here and allow these people to say that and get away with it. Things that people are going to feel sorry for. That’s very offensive, OK? Do the right thing.
My people get three strikes. I have a nephew in jail now–22 years!–for something he didn’t do.
My people commit a crime, they go to jail. You people commit a crime, they get amnesty. It is wrong…
(Cheers, applause)
And we’re not going to have it. We’re not going to have a set of laws for you people and a set of laws for us.
And if you can’t follow the law, talking about “perish,” your job needs to perish.
You get paid with taxpayers’ money and you are misappropriating taxpayers’ money when you pick up your check.
(Cheers, applause)
In an interview Tuesday morning, Temple explained further:
I grew up in the Huntington Park area. I was raised in that area. I live in Hawthorne now. That area over there has been a Latino area for decades, for a long time. They witnessed racial tension in that area. My mother was a property owner over in that area.
What I said last night was not my intention. What kind of disturbed me is when someone got up and talked about slavery. There is no comparison. They need to stop pretending like they are being mistreated. They have pushed and disturbed the community. They have 95% of the jobs and they still act like they are mistreated.
Yes I am black, but I’m an American. They are getting away with murder. I was in Sacramento recently, and I protested about Kate Steinle. Then they get a get-out-of-jail-free card, and my nephew is in jail. They release them–30,000, if not more–every year. They put them right back on the street and it’s not right.
The black community–we’re tired of them citing civil rights because of people like Al Sharpton. They are being treated better than American citizens with our tax money.
I’m just tired. I lost my job. I was told I did not speak Spanish and I was terminated from my job. Even now it’s difficult to get a job. They told me I was fired for not being able to speak Spanish. I applied to McDonald’s and they told me that they don’t hire blacks–and it was a black owner. I filed with EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). I have my documentation. I was denied a job….But they didn’t do anything. They are putting illegal immigrants before blacks. I applied for three jobs with the County of L.A. and they didn’t give me a job, and when I filed a complaint they called me a racist. I ended up homeless.
We have a rule of law. Why can’t they obey the law? Little do they know they are making us [Americans] closer. We are standing as Americans, as all races and colors. They want to throw out the race card. We are tired of being abused, and it’s got to stop.
Our politicians are giving them the power in the fight against us–the people using our tax money, writing these laws and using them against us….
Yes, black lives matter, but if we had jobs we wouldn’t be put in these situations to be attacked. A lot of parental rights have been restricted and are being taken away. There’s a lot in the black neighborhood that needs to be worked on. We need to get our house in order first and we need to get jobs back to get back on track.
We have no recourse. We are not being represented. Now we’re in the shadows, we are being buried in the shadows.
