The Talking Head Election Debate

CNN and the New York Times loved last night’s biased presidential debate. No wonder. Fox News is now just like them

insert picture
Americans, or at least roughly half of their country’s population, are looking for a miracle to drag their country back from the cliff edge after almost seven years of a president intent on destroying it.

They found out last night they’ll get no help saving the country from the media, and disappointing to many conservatives, including Fox News.

Fox is crowing today and patting itself on the back that last night’s debate, watched by 24 million people, shattered all records.
“In the estimation of many reporters who cover the political and media beats, Fox News was the winner of the first GOP debate. And with the just-released ratings we can confirm that.

“A whopping 24 million watched the debate from 9 p.m. ET to just past 11 p.m. ET. FNC drew 7.9 million in the A25-54 demo.
“This is now the highest non-sports cable program of all time, the highest-rated cable news program of all time, and Fox News’s most-watched program ever.
“The 5 p.m. ET debate, withe the 7 lower-tier candidates did very well for Fox News too, drawing 6.1 million total viewers and 1.2 million in the demo, making it the third-highest primary debate ever on cable.”
Bully for Fox.

But shouldn’t it have been bully for the GOP hopefuls the debate was touted to be about, and even more importantly, bully for long-suffering Americans hoping against hope for that elusive miracle?

CNN's Tapper Shames Earnest For Not Watching Undercover Abortion Videos

CNN's Tapper Shames Earnest For Not Watching Undercover Abortion Videos
CNN's Jake Tapper went after Josh Earnest on Monday's The Lead, after the White House press secretary admitted that he hadn't seen any of the undercover Planned Parenthood videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, and was "relying on news reports that I've seen" about the controversy. Tapper pointed out that "the whole video is put up on the website of this anti-abortion group that put them out." When Earnest blasted the pro-life group for their "ideological games," the anchor retorted that "somebody at the White House should maybe watch the videos in full."

Tapper raised the issue in the middle of his interview of Earnest. He also ran clips from the first four videos that the Center for Medical Progress released. The journalist first noted that "the Senate...is going ahead with a vote to try and defund Planned Parenthood. The White House has threatened to veto any measure like that." He then asked the press secretary, "Is it your contention that there's nothing in these secretly-recorded videotapes of Planned Parenthood officials discussing what sounds like profiting from fetal tissue and organ sales – there's nothing in these tapes that bothers you and anyone in the White House?" -

Earnest replied that "these videos...were released because of their shock value, and there's no doubt that's what depicted on these videos is shocking. I know that based on the news reports that I've read about the videos – I haven't actually looked at them." He continued with one of Planned Parenthood's talking points – that "people...have raised significant questions about whether or not these videos are credible – about whether or not they've been selectively edited in a way to grossly distort the position and the policies of Planned Parenthood."

The CNN anchor followed with his point about the whole videos being available on the pro-life organization's website. The White House official responded with more liberal talking points about the administration wanting to "make sure that there is not an ideological effort to wholesale defund Planned Parenthood that provides those important health care services to women all across the country.

" The transcript of the relevant portion of Jake Tapper's interview of Josh Earnest from Monday's The Lead on CNN:

JAKE TAPPER: Josh, I want to ask you about a couple other issues, as long as I have – the Senate, as you know, is going ahead with a vote to try and defund Planned Parenthood. The White House has threatened to veto any measure like that-
JOSH EARNEST, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: That's right-
TAPPER: Is it your contention that there's nothing in these secretly-recorded videotapes of Planned Parenthood officials discussing what sounds like profiting from fetal tissue and organ sales – there's nothing in these tapes that bothers you and anyone in the White House?
EARNEST: Well, Jake, I got to tell you – you know, these videos are – were released because of their shock value, and there's no doubt that's what depicted on these videos is shocking. I know that based on the news reports that I've read about the videos – I haven't actually looked at them. But people who have looked at them have raised significant questions about whether or not these videos are credible – about whether or not they've been selectively edited in a way to grossly distort the position and the policies of Planned Parenthood. And if you consider the source-
TAPPER: The whole – the video – the whole video is put up on – on the website of this anti-abortion group that – that put them out. I mean, you can – you don't have to watch just the edited version. You can watch the whole version.
EARNEST: Yeah. Well, listen, I'm relying on – on news reports that I've seen of people who have taken a look at this and raised questions about the videos themselves. And there's no doubt that this is an organization that has targeted Planned Parenthood for some time. So, they clearly have an ideological axe to grind.
What we know to be true is that Planned Parenthood provides regular health care for millions of Americans across the country, and Planned Parenthood is not able to use federal funds to perform abortions. That is written into the rules. That is a rule that this administration has not just followed, but actually supported.
So it's clear that there are some ideological games that are being played here, and what this administration and this president has long fought for is protecting access for women to health care. And that's exactly why we want to make sure that there is not an ideological effort to wholesale defund Planned Parenthood that provides those important health care services to women all across the country.
TAPPER: Well, somebody at the White House should maybe watch the videos in full.

Leftists Use Black Lives Matter to Exploit Blacks, Again

Recently, my black brother shared an unfortunate incident. Years ago, police in two unmarked cars blocked his car. They jumped out pointing guns, demanding that he exit his car. My brother immediately raised his hands, but did not exit his car because he was frozen with fear. An officer pulled him out of his car onto the ground. My brother said, “Calm down! I am not resisting!”

After checking him out, the officers realized he was not their suspect. Rather than sending my brother on his way with an apology, the police framed him. My brother had an unopened six-pack of beer on the floor. An officer opened one of the beers and said, “You're under arrest for drunk driving.” The bogus charge did not stick and my brother was released hours later, angry, and with a bitter taste in his mouth.

Ironically, my brother's reason for telling me about the incident was to defend the police in the recent shooting and arrests covered 24/7 on CNN. He said the cops who framed him were a few bad apples which are everywhere in every profession. Amen to that. Jesus had 12 disciples and one was a bad apple. My brother made the point that he was not harmed because he submitted to the police's authority. He noted that the blacks in the videos shown on TV did not submit to the police.

My brother's point is correct. In each incident caught on video in which people are second-guessing officers’ behavior, bad outcomes could have been avoided had the persons simply respected authority and complied.
A friend of mine is a veteran Baltimore black cop. He told me that upon arriving at a scene, a cop must immediately take control of the situation. If not, the cop could end up dead – stabbed in the back by a weepy girlfriend or mom. The most hazardous part of a police officer's job is the routine traffic stop: 62 officers killed 2002 - 2011.

Democrats, CNN and other liberal bias media have an insidiously evil agenda to convince black America that Republicans, conservatives and police are out to get them. These Leftists would love to feature my brother's bad boy cops story 24/7, claiming the cops were unequivocally motivated by white racism.

CLINTON TAX RETURN: $141M IN 8 YEARS

This week’s Friday night document drop included the Clintons’ tax returns, as summarized by CNN:

Hillary and Bill Clinton earned nearly $141 million over the course of eight years and paid $43 million in federal taxes, according to tax returns her campaign released Friday.
In a lengthy statement and on her campaign website, Clinton detailed that she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, paid more than $43 million in federal taxes from 2007 to 2014, over $13 million in state taxes and donated nearly $15 million to charity over the same period.
The couple earned a total of $140.9 million, with an adjusted gross income of $139.1 million, the returns show.
Not bad for a couple that produces nothing, adds nothing to the economy, and gets all of their money based solely on political connections. Many of us are old enough to remember when liberals were very, very upset at the thought of rich people running for President – three years ago, to be exact.
“We’ve come a long way from my days going door-to-door for the Children’s Defense Fund and earning $16,450 as a young law professor in Arkansas – and we owe it to the opportunities America provides,” Hillary Clinton humorously humble-bragged in a statement accompanying the tax info. Or is it possible she’s being serious? She really thinks the millions raked in by a political couple paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to give empty speeches, by powerful special interests who wish to take advantage of their connections, has even the slightest relationship to the “opportunities America provides” for the vast majority of its citizens?
Oh, and about those charitable donations…
From 2007 to 2014, nearly 99% of the Clintons’ charitable giving went to their foundation, “The Clinton Family Foundation,” which is used to distribute the family’s philanthropic giving to different charities.
In total, the Clintons donated $14,959,450.00 to charity over that period, with $14,769,000 of that going to the foundation.
And most of the 1% of donations that didn’t go to their foundation went to Clinton associated groups. In 2013, the Clintons donated $57,000 to the Clinton Global Initiative and $21,000 to the Humana Challenge, a Clinton Foundation-sponsored golf tournament. In 2012, the couple donated $25,000 to the same golf tournament.
In the Nineties we got to enjoy the Clintons writing off their underwear as tax deductions.  Now they make charitable donations to the organizations that keep their political operatives well-paid until they’re needed for campaigns.
And, of course, Hillary postures as the scourge of the Evil Rich and their rotten tax “loopholes.”
“I want more Americans to have the chance to work hard and get ahead, just like we did. And reforming the tax code can help,” said Clinton, before criticizing the tax reform proposals of Republican opponents.  Good Lord, she really is serious about pretending she got filthy rich by “working hard” and pursuing the same American dream available to middle class voters. Keep voting Democrat, folks, and maybe one day you, too, will be paid vast sums of money by oil sheikhs and Russian oligarchs to give canned speeches!

[VIDEO] Giuliani: Hillary Clinton Should Be Under Investigation For Five Different Crimes

Former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said that if he was still a U.S. Attorney, he’d have former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton under investigation for five different crimes.
“I believe she should be under investigation by the United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York for obstruction of justice, for destroying government property,” he said on CNN’s New Day. “I think its clear that she had a conflict of interest, her husband getting hundreds of millions of dollars, she’s making decisions about companies and about corporations that he’s getting money from. I think they filed a joint tax return.”
“I’d have her under investigation for about five different crimes,” he continued. “I think it’s outrageous that the Justice Department is not moving forward with this. General Pertraeus, a lot of other people have gone to jail…”
That said, Giuliani said he would’ve have shown leniency towards David Petraeus after the former general was found guilty of moving classified government documents off site. “Hillary Clinton, there are five acts we are talking about. Pertraeus gave away one or two little things. She destroyed a drive with 34,000 e-mails on it.”

Mayor de Blasio: No more Trump deals in NYC future

Donald Trump candidacy speech

New York City's mayor has had enough Trump, thank you.

During a press conference on Monday, Mayor Bill de Blasio said that while he's uncertain whether the city can break several existing contracts with the Republican presidential hopeful, one thing is clear: There will be no future deals between the Big Apple and Trump.

CNN’S MARC LAMONT HILL: ‘STUPID’ FOR O’MALLEY TO SAY ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’

Appearing on CNN Newsroom with Poppy Harlow on Sunday evening, liberal CNN contributor and Morehouse College Professor Marc Lamont Hill asserted that it was "stupid" for former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to declare that "All lives matter" during a far left Netroots Nation event over the weekend.
Hill went on to compare the Maryland Democrat's comments to declaring that "all houses matter" when there is only one house on fire that needs immediate attention.
After fellow guest and conservative talk radio host Ben Ferguson jabbed Hillary Clinton for refusing to show up at the Netroots event, Hill complained about her absence:
I understand Ben's point, which is that, as a political calculus, it's better to run from this stuff than to take it head on because you end up saying something stupid like, "All lives matter," like Martin O'Malley did.
Poppy Harlow requested clarification from him as she posed:
Real quick, explain to those who might not understand why it was offensive to say, "All lives matter."
Hill began:
Well, outside of context, saying, "All lives matter," is reasonable, right? All lives do matter. The Black Lives Matter movement has never been about denying the legitimacy of other people's suffering. It's never been about saying all lives don't matter or that black lives are superior to other lives. The point is that there's a crisis going on. There is a crisis in the black community of state violence. There's a crisis of extra-judicial violence against black bodies. There's a crisis of mass incarceration, of poverty.
The liberal professor continued:
All these things are happening and they're targeted, disproportionately targeted toward black people. And to develop a movement and say black people need support in this way, black people's lives need to be affirmed and confirmed and protected in this way, to make that movement, and then to have people say, "Hey, but what about white people?" to me is to avoid the point. It's almost as if saying we can't affirm the humanity of black people without also bringing in some white people, we can't talk about the value of black life unless we talk about something else.
If there are two houses on a hill, one is on fire, I'm not going to scream out, "All houses matter!" I'm going to put out the fire in the one that's on fire. Right now, there's a fire in the black community.

Media Members Want To Make it Clear They Don’t Know Chattanooga Killer’s Motive

It’s still up in the air to members of the media what compelled 24-year-old Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, a Muslim, to murder four Marines in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Thursday before being killed in a firefight with police.
As one CNN reporter put it, “he was a nice kid from a nice family, and he was as American as anybody else.”
Chris Cuomo said, “we may never know the exact motive” of Abdulazeez. That sentiment has been repeated across the dial, with pundits and correspondents falling all over themselves to remind viewers we just don’t know the motive.
It has been established he did not hunt, however. Abdulazeez did blog about Islam on July 13, where, according to The Daily Beast, he “uses the hypothetical example of a prisoner who is told he would be given a test that would either take him out of his earthly prison.”

[VIDEO] Susan Rice: NO AMERICANS Will Be Allowed to Inspect Iranian Nuclear Sites

This wasn’t a nuclear deal – This was a surrender

Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice, of Benghazi fame, went on CNN to promote the P5+1 nuclear deal with the Iranian regime.
During the discussion Rice admitted that NO AMERICAN EXPERTS will be allowed in to inspect the Iranian nuclear sites.

BLITZER: “Let’s clarify a few points as far as the nuclear deal with Iran is concerned. I take it that all of the IAEA inspection teams, all inspectors who go in will have to be from country that have formal, full diplomatic relations with Iran. As a result, no Americans will directly be involved in any on the ground inspections in Iran — is that right?”
RICE: “Wolf, yes. The IAEA, which is a highly respected international organization, will field an international team of inspectors. And those inspectors will in all likelihood come from IAEA member-states, most of whom have diplomatic relationships with Iran. We of course are a rare exception.”

BLITZER: “No Americans — I want to be precise on this. Sorry for interrupting. No Americans will be on the ground in Iran actually inspecting?”
RICE: “No Americans will be part of the IAEA inspection teams.”
BLITZER: “Will Americans be outside –”
RICE: “There are Americans in Iran on a daily basis, Wolf. I’m not sure what you are asking.”
BLITZER: “American government officials or military officials who could be inspecting?”
RICE: “They’re not going to be independent American inspectors separate from the IAEA. The IAEA will do the inspections on behalf of the United States and the rest of the international community.”
BLITZER: “I know there are American tourists and Americans who go visit family members in Iran. I’m talking U.S. government sent people, diplomats or others to go in there and see what is going on. I take it they will not be doing that?”
RICE: “I don’t anticipate that, no.”

CNN’s Dana Bash: Major Garrett Crossed Line with ‘Disrespectful’ Obama Question

dana bash
A lot happened during President Obama‘s Iran presser today, but the moment getting the most attention is when CBS’ Major Garrett confronted the president by asking, “Why you are content with all the fanfare around this deal to leave the conscience of this nation, the strength of this nation unaccounted for in relation to these four Americans?”

Obama took some offense at the question, saying, “That’s nonsense, and you should know better.”
Garrett defended himself a little later, insisting he intended to pose a provocative question. But a fellow reporter thought he went a little too far.
CNN’s Dana Bash said after the presser, “There’s a fine line between asking a tough question and maybe crossing that line a little bit and being disrespectful, and I think that happened here.”

GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SLAM OBAMA’S DEAL WITH IRAN

GOP presidential candidates are slamming the Obama Administration’s deal with Iran that was announced Tuesday.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR) said:
Shame on the Obama administration for agreeing to a deal that empowers an evil Iranian regime to carry out its threat to “wipe Israel off the map” and bring “death to America.” John Kerry should have long ago gotten up on his crutches, walked out of the sham talks, and went straight to Jerusalem to stand next to Benjamin Netanyahu and declared that America will stand with Israel and the other sane governments of the Middle East instead of with the terrorist government of Iran.
Huckabee addded: “As president, I will stand with Israel and keep all options on the table, including military force, to topple the terrorist Iranian regime and defeat the evil forces of radical Islam.”
Carly Fiorina appeared on CBS Tuesday morning and discussed President Obama’s comments on the deal.
“He says it makes a nuclear arms race less likely – our Arab allies have said just the opposite, so has Israel. So… there is reason for suspicion here that is not partisan.”
Fiorina said the allies think it makes an arms race more likely because Iran has demonstrated bad behavior for more than 30 years and both China and Russia have an interest in opening up Iran’s economy. Fiorina said the Administration caved.
Meanwhile, “This is not going to sell to the Congress or the American people, it won’t sell to the Arabs, certainly not going to sell to the Israelis,”
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)

47%
 said on CNN’s “New Day.”

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)

80%
echoed Graham on Congressional approval saying, “I expect that a significant majority in Congress will share my skepticism of this agreement and vote it down.”

Rubio posted on Twitter, “It will be left to the next President to return us to a position of American strength and re-impose sanctions on this despicable regime.”
The most recent GOP candidate to enter the race – Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) – said this deal would be remembered as one of America’s worst diplomatic failures:
The deal allows Tehran to dismantle U.S. and international sanctions without dismantling its illicit nuclear infrastructure—giving Iran’s nuclear weapons capability an American stamp of approval. In crafting this agreement, President Obama has abandoned the bipartisan principles that have guided our nonproliferation policy and kept the world safe from nuclear danger for decades. Instead of making the world safer, this deal will likely lead to a nuclear arms race in the world’s most dangerous region. What’s worse, the deal rewards the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism with a massive financial windfall, which Iran will use to further threaten our interests and key allies, especially Israel.
Walker called on Congress and all presidential candidates – including Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton – to repudiate the deal.
Iran’s Supreme Leader should know that a future American president will not be bound by this diplomatic retreat. Undoing the damage caused by this deal won’t be easy. But when the United States leads, and has a president who isn’t eager to embrace Iran, the world will follow. In order to ensure the safety of America and our allies, the next president must restore bipartisan and international opposition to Iran’s nuclear program while standing with our allies to roll back Iran’s destructive influence across the Middle East.
CNN reported that former Pennsylvania Gov. Rick Santorum responded to the deal by saying:
We’ve legitimized them. We’ve given them legitimacy in the international community something that they deeply wanted here, and they’ve done basically nothing in exchange for that. They come out of this a much, much stronger and I believe more virulent state with very, very few responsibility, in fact nothing in this deal curbs their terrorism. There’s nothing that says that they have to cease any type of terrorist activity.
Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) said Obama has made two years of humiliating concessions – including the deal with Iran.
“He should have walked away. Iran joins the sad list of countries were America’s red lines have been crossed. The president is playing a dangerous game with our national security, and the deal as structured will lead to a nuclear Iran and, then, a nuclearized Middle East. The deal threatens Israel, it threatens the United States, and it turns 70 years of nuclear policy on its head,” Christie posted on Twitter.
Christie urged Congress to reject the deal.
Dr. Ben Carson did not post an update on Twitter as of Tuesday morning on the final Iran deal, but on Sunday Carson posted, “Reagan:”Trust, but verify”. Re: ‪#IranTalks, we need to verify ‪@POTUS concessions! ‪@BarackObama come clean, show all cards to‪#WeThePeople.”
Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) also did not comment as of Tuesday on the final deal, but posted on Twitter Monday, “The Obama Administration’s negotiating strategy with Iran is called appeasement. We should walk away.”
The deal now goes to Congress which has 60 days to review and either approve or reject the final deal with Iran.
