Immigration 'surge' continues, 30,000 expected, U.N. demands 'empathy' over 'enforcement'

This year's "surge" of illegal immigrant children and teens is continuing at last year's historic pace, with about 30,000 expected to reach the United States, according to humanitarian groups.
Different this year: Many more are being stopped in Mexico as they flee Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, cutting the number making the dangerous trek through Mexico to the U.S. border in half.
"The numbers are surging," said Linda Hartke, president of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service [LIRS], one of the country's premier humanitarian-immigration groups that helps with the legal and housing of immigrants, especially children.
"We've seen no change in the numbers," added Alaide Vilchis Ibarra of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the U.S. "They just aren't making it here," she said.
Urged to take action by President Obama, Mexico has moved to seize the children and families. But instead of evaluating their request for asylum, the humanitarian officials said that Mexico is arresting and eventually deporting them home. While in detention, the conditions are horrible, Ibarra said.
Some 100,000 immigrants were stopped in Mexico last year, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. When calculating for just the 70,000 youths who surged over the border last year and the thousands believed to have died or were taken by gangs while making the trip, that suggests possibly 200,000 youths actually tried to make it into the United States.
Nicole Boehner, protection associate with UNHCR, raising concerns on how immigrant children seeking asylum are handled by U.S. officials, said that protections for Mexican children reaching the U.S. be strengthened.

Ann Coulter: Trump Could Win The Election

In a D.C.-based radio interview, best-selling author Ann Coulter Friday defended GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump and believes he could be a “nominee who could win” the election.
“Trump is different. We have been lied to for thirty years about immigration. That’s why Trump is striking this chord. He’s attractive. He’s tall. He’s hilariously funny. I think he could be not only a nominee who could win but a third party candidate who could win,” Coulter told WMAL Friday.
She admitted in the interview she has reversed her stance on opposing candidates who were not governors.
“The more I see Trump talk, the more it diminishes the other candidates,” Coulter said.
The “Adios, America!” author told WMAL a third party candidate would “be fantastic” considering the current Republican field for president.
“I promise you that if the nominee is Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Rick Perry or really any of those midgets, our fate is sealed,” Coulter said. “The Republican isn’t winning if it’s Marco or Jeb Bush. It’s absolute madness… The polls show Donald Trump is way ahead.”
Coulter dismissed Trump’s “war hero” comments about Sen. John McCain in comparison to what other presidential candidates have done.
“Marco Rubio spent three years trying to push amnesty on the country. I think that’s a bigger mistake than some flip remark that was he was instantly retracting. And Jeb Bush who campaigned for about five years to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses and 13 of the 19 hijackers on 911 had Florida driver licenses. He calls illegal immigration an ‘act of love’ and those are rather more important mistakes,” Coulter told WMAL host Brian Wilson.

Levin: ‘Unbridled Immigration, Legal and Illegal, Is Taking the Country Down’

“Immigration, legal and illegal, is taking the country down,” nationally syndicated radio show host Mark Levin stated in his broadcast on Thursday.
“Unbridled immigration, wave after wave after wave, which is what has taken place for the last 50 years, is killing this country,” Levin said. “Fundamentally altering this country, creating more poor American citizens in this country - and to what end?”
“Now I can go on and on; the case is overwhelming that unbridled immigration, wave after wave after wave, which is what has taken place for the last 50 years, is killing this country.
“Fundamentally altering this country, creating more poor American citizens in this country – and to what end?
“That information, all that information is in Plunder and Deceit on my chapter on immigration, but there’s a lot more because immigration is even more than that.
“It’s about foreigners coming into the country, not assimilating, and it’s about a federal government basically controlled by the Left, almost in a monopolistic way, which does not want assimilation, does not want Americanization because, as [President] Obama has said repeatedly, he and the Left despise America.
“So we have people escaping failed cultures, escaping failed economic systems, escaping failed governments, coming into this country and bringing all three of those with them –and our country encouraging it.
“So this does affect jobs. This does affect the economy. It sure as hell affects your children and grandchildren. It affects our school systems, it affects law enforcement – yes. It affects our health care system, it affects our entire country.
“Unbridled – wave after wave – immigration, legal and illegal, is taking the country down."

The True Cost of Immigration

Democrats, along with a number of equally feckless Republicans, are extolling the virtues of “comprehensive immigration reform.” Such jargon obscures their real agenda, which is the abandonment of the rule of law in favor of a political expediency that benefits the ruling class and its campaign contributors. A ruling class and campaign contributors who seek to “fundamentally transform the United States of America” into a nation where progressive power is permanent, and cheap labor is plentiful. Hence, while those virtues are put front and center before the public, the vices associated with illegal immigration are relegated to the back of the proverbial bus. Here’s a look at some of those vices.

We begin with crime. There are a number of statistical measurements. One is a 2011 Government Accountability Office (GAO) reportrevealing that the number SCAAP criminal alien incarcerations in state prison systems and local jails in FY2009 (the most recent data available) was about 296,000. As American Thinker’s Randall Hoven explains, “SCAAP is the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program and in this context means ‘illegal aliens’ ‚Äì a GAO term meaning ‘Noncitizens whom ICE verified were [or whom states and local jurisdictions believe to be] illegally in the United States at the time of incarceration.’”

Another is a report by the United States Sentencing Commission (USSC) obtained by Breitbart News. It shows that while illegal aliens comprise 3.5 percent of the nation’s population, they comprised a whopping 36.7 percent of federal sentences following criminal convictions in FY 2014. The actual number of crimes for which these illegals received sentences was 27,505. The primary categories include drug trafficking, kidnapping/hostage taking, drug possession, money laundering and murder convictions.

This data comprise actual convictions of federal offenders subject to the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984 (SRA). Omitted from the list are state and death penalty cases, as well as “cases initiated but for which no convictions were obtained, offenders convicted for whom no sentences were yet issued, and offenders sentenced but for whom no sentencing documents were submitted to the Commission.” And while the data do include immigration violations, which makes up the lion’s share of convictions, eliminating that category entirely would still have illegals comprising 13.6 percent of all sentenced offenders, a number that far exceeds the aforementioned 3.5 percent of the total U.S. population they represent.

More germane is data revealed by Judicial Watch (JW). They note that “as of April 26, 2014, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had released 165,900 convicted criminal aliens throughout the United States, including many convicted of such violent crimes as homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.” These illegals, along with 706,950 non-criminal illegals, were ordered to leave the country, “but have not done so and remain free,” JW reveals. JW also explains the documents reveal the difficulty ICE has with local policies that interfere with federal enforcement of immigration law. Those would be “sanctuary city” policies and JW cites a case in Montgomery County, MD where officials prevented ICE from gaining access to an illegal charged with rape.

HOUSE HEARING TO EXAMINE SANCTUARY CITY THREAT

A House panel will take a closer look at sanctuary cities, which refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, during a hearing next week.

“Sanctuary city policies needlessly endanger American lives by refusing to honor the federal government’s authority to enforce immigration laws,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte said Thursday.
“Unfortunately, the Obama Administration’s own foolish policies enable rogue local governments to defy federal immigration laws,” he added. “All too often, these reckless policies create preventable tragedies.”
The murder of Kathryn Steinle — allegedly by a five-time deported, multiple-felon illegal immigrant who was released from police custody due to San Francisco pier’s sanctuary policies —  has brought sanctuary cities under increased scrutiny.
Next Thursday the House Judiciary Committee’s Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled “Sanctuary Cities: A Threat to Public Safety.”
“The border is porous, there are insufficient internal security mechanisms in place, and this administration has embraced non-enforcement and a constitutionally-suspect rewriting of what inadequate current laws do exist,” Subcommittee Chairman
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)
85%
 said.

“These administration policies enable the willful failure of localities to respect detainers and create more than benign-sounding things like ‘sanctuary’ cities. It creates gaping holes in our criminal justice system, which leads to deadly consequences,” he added.
At a House Judiciary Committee Department of Homeland Security oversight hearing this week, DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson argued against legislation forcing sanctuary cities to comply with federal immigration law.
Republicans in recent weeks have filed a number of bills aimed at compelling sanctuary cities to honor federal immigration detainer and notification requests.
The House Appropriations Committee earlier this week approved a DHS appropriations bill that includes a provision prohibiting sanctuary cities from receiving federal law enforcement grants.

REPORT: 8,145 CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS RELEASED DUE TO ‘SANCTUARY CITY’ POLICIES IN 8 MONTH PERIOD

Sanctuary policies in jurisdictions across the country have resulted in the release of more than 8,000 criminals Immigration and Customs Enforcement sought to deport in an eight-month period in 2014, according to a newly released Center for Immigration Studies report.

The detainer data, obtained by CIS via FIOA request, comes in the wake of the murder of Kathryn Steinle in the sanctuary city of San Francisco, allegedly by a multiple-deportee, multiple-felon illegal immigrant.
CIS’ report, authored by Jessica Vaughan, reveals that 63 percent of the 8,145 released criminal immigrants — in 276 jurisdictions from January 1, 2014, to August 31, 2014 — had “serious prior criminal records” and a fourth had a prior felony charge or conviction.
-5,132 were previously convicted or charged with a crime or were labeled a public safety concern. Of these,
-2,984 had a prior felony conviction or charge;
-1,909 had a prior misdemeanor conviction or charge related to violence, assault, sexual abuse, DUI, weapons, or drug distribution or trafficking;and
-239 had three or more other misdemeanor convictions.
According to the report, 1,867 of those release were arrested 4,300 times again— on some 7,491 charges — within that eight-month timeframe. The report notes ICE took custody of 40 percent of the recidivists but as of the time of the report, 60 percent remained at large.
“ICE’s analysis shines a light on the public safety problems created when local sanctuary policies cause the release of criminal aliens that ICE is seeking for deportation,” Vaughan said. “San Francisco’s sanctuary policies do not represent mainstream law-enforcement practice in America, but they are more widespread than is commonly realized.”
Indeed, as of last month the total number of detainers sanctuary jurisdictions did not honor grew to more than 17,000.
In her report Vaughan further highlighted six instance of serious crimes committed by criminal immigrants ICE sought to apprehend via a detainer but who were released by sanctuary jurisdictions.
-Santa Clara County, Calif.: On April 14, 2014, an individual with nine previous convictions (including seven felonies) and a prior removal was arrested for “first degree burglary” and “felony resisting an officer causing death or significant bodily injury”. Following release, the individual was arrested for a controlled substance crime.
-Los Angeles, Calif.: On April 6, 2014, an alien was arrested for “felony continuous sexual abuse of a child”. After release, the alien was arrested for “felony sodomy of a victim under 10 years old”.
-San Francisco, Calif.: On March 19, 2014, an illegal alien with two prior deportations was arrested for “felony second degree robbery, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, and felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance”, After release, the alien was again arrested for “felony rape with force or fear”, “felony sexual penetration with force”, “felony false imprisonment”, witness intimidation, and other charges.
-San Mateo County, Calif.: On February 16, 2014, an individual was arrested for “felony lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14″. In addition, the alien had a prior DUI conviction. Following release by the local agency, the individual was arrested for three counts of “felony oral copulation with a victim under 10″ and two counts of “felony lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14”.
-Miami Beach, Fla.: On December 19, 2013, the police department arrested an alien for felony grand theft. This alien had been ordered removed (and presumably absconded) in 2009. The alien also had prior convictions for strong-arm robbery, cocaine possession, larceny, trespassing, theft, marijuana possession, and resisting an officer. After release by the local agency, the alien was arrested on two separate occasions; once for “aggravated assault with a weapon and larceny” and once for “under the influence of a controlled substance”.
-Santa Clara County, Calif.: On November 7, 2013, an alien was arrested (and later convicted) for “felony grand theft and felony dealing with stolen property”. This alien had been ordered removed in 2010 (again, a likely absconder). The alien also had prior felony and misdemeanor convictions for narcotic possession, theft, receiving stolen property, illegal entry, and other crimes. After release by local authorities, the alien was arrested for “felony resisting an officer causing death or severe bodily injury” and “felony first degree burglary”.
According to Vaughan, lawmakers should ensure that complying with federal immigration law is not optional.
“Further, those jurisdictions that do not comply with all detainers should face sanctions and be debarred from certain kinds of federal funding,” she said. “The Davis-Oliver Act, which is not pending in Congress, has provisions to address this problem directly.”

[VIDEO] Donald Trump steering GOP field into tough topics

Donald Trump may be known more for his brazen antics than his presidential potential, but the business magnate could make more waves on the trail than expected by forcing fellow candidates to tackle touchy subjects early on in the race, analysts say.
“He’s an agenda-setter right now in the Republican party,” said Erin O’Brien, associate professor of political science at University of Massachusetts Boston. “Other candidates are going to have to talk in more detail about issues they were hoping would remain off the table, namely immigration.
“It may force them to take more radical positions,” she added.
Trump again brought out his brash immigration rhetoric yesterday at a gathering in Las Vegas, which he hit before heading to a standing room-only event in Phoenix, where flag-waving supporters carried signs reading “Make America Great Again” and “Truth Trumps All.”
“These people wreak havoc on our population,” he said of immigrants who come to America illegally, suggesting that a wall should be built along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Trump took heat last month after his announcement speech when he said that many of the people crossing the border from Mexico are criminals and rapists.
But despite drawing outrage from voters that likely won’t help his chances in the long term, O’Brien said Trump is giving voice to a portion of the constituency, and fellow candidates may try to follow suit.
“Trump is doing damage to the Republican party,” O’Brien said. But, she added, “It would be a mistake to write him off as a total buffoon. He is speaking to a small, but real segment of the population.”
And because Trump’s demeanor is so bombastic, voters may see him as a voice of truth next to his more cautious and curated opponents, said Rob Brown, professor of communications at Salem State University, who has worked as a political adviser.
“He looks authentic, because if you weren’t authentic, why would you be saying these hateful, horrible, bigoted things?” he said. “He speaks what sounds like the unpleasant truth in a world of corporate apologies, political lies and scandals.”
“He’s a ringmaster,” he added, “and everyone likes a circus.”
Both O’Brien and Brown said that, while Trump may push the GOP candidates to extremes, it could also leave room for a hopeful who strays from party lines — like Ohio Gov. John Kasich — to fill the more moderate void.
“It gives them a chance also to move away from home to the center,” Brown said.

FOR SECOND TIME IN A WEEK, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ACCUSED OF HIT-AND-RUN

Federal immigration officials tell ABC11 a second illegal immigrant suspected of causing a serious wreck this week will not be allowed out of jail.

Earlier this week, the I-Team covered the return of Efren Roblero to the streets of Wake County.

Roblero is accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that injured two people over the weekend. He managed to post his $75,000 bond and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials approved his release from jail.

Now, another illegal immigrant, Antonio Arellano, is accused of hit-and-run causing serious injury, driving without a license, and reckless driving.

The woman he allegedly hit spoke to ABC11 Friday from her hospital bed at WakeMed where she is recovering from surgery.

"Just looked up and there's a truck coming head on. I tried to swerve to avoid it, and there was nothing I could do," said Stephanie Johnson.

Johnson says she heard about the release of Roblero on ABC 11 and feared Arellano might also get out of jail. She suspects Arellano might have been driving drunk.

However, that's something investigators can't prove since he wasn't arrested until two days after the crash.

"I see here that you have two prior convictions for impaired driving and that you have been removed from the United States by a previous immigration proceeding," Wake County District Court Judge Ned Mangum told Arellano during the suspect's first court appearance on the charges Friday afternoon.

During that appearance, Mangum nearly tripled the bond on the 31 year old.

Witnesses at the crash scene identified Arellano.

That includes the woman who told a 911 dispatcher: "The gentleman walked away. He got out of the F-150 [pickup truck] and walked toward Jonesville Road."

Johnson, who suffered a lacerated liver, a broken wrist and ribs, and a compound fracture to her left leg, can't believe anyone could walk away from a crash and leave someone badly injured.

"I know he heard me screaming for help," said Johnson. "That's all. That's all I ever remember saying, 'Help me. Get me out of this car.'"

An ICE official said because Arellano has two prior DWI convictions in Wake and Randolph Counties he falls under the "priority" category for the Homeland Security agency.
That means, if Arellano posts his $32,000 bond, he still won't be able to leave jail because the feds will detain him.

Roblero was approved for release according to the ICE official because he didn't meet ICE priorities -- specifically that he hasn't been convicted of a crime and hasn't been deported since 2014.

He has been charged with prior crimes that haven't been tried and was deported but that was before 2014.

[VIDEO] Map: Over 200 'sanctuary cities' in 32 states and D.C.

There are over 200 "sanctuary cities" in 32 states that give safe harbor to illegal immigrants, even violent ones with felony records like the man accused of killing a San Francisco mother last week, according to a new analysis.
The Center for Immigration Studies on Wednesday posted a map of the cities. On their website, they reported:
"More than 200 cities, counties and states across the United States are considered sanctuary cities. These state and local jurisdictions have policies, laws, executive orders, or regulations allowing them to avoid cooperating with federal immigration law enforcement authorities. These 'cities' ignore federal law authorizing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to administratively deport illegal aliens without seeking criminal warrants or convictions from federal, state, or local courts."
According to CIS and another website, Ohio Jobs & Justice PAC, Washington, D.C., and multiple cities around the nation's capital are included where local police forces are told to not cooperate with federal authorities.
Which cities fit the definition can be open to debate. Jessica Vaughan, CIS director of policy studies, who helped pull the map together, said the number could go over 300.
"One could also argue that any jurisdiction that provides drivers licenses, or welfare benefits, or public housing, or municipal ID cards is a sanctuary," she explained.

Majority of Iowa Republicans Oppose Path to Citizenship for Illegal Immigrants

The latest Quinnipiac University poll shows a sharp partisan divide on the issue of immigration between Republicans and Democrats in Iowa, with roughly two-thirds of Republicanssaying there should not be a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.

Among likely Iowa Republican caucus-goers, 46 percent said that illegal immigrants should be required to leave the U.S., 34 percent said they should be able to stay and have a path to citizenship, and 17 percent said that they should be able to stay but without a path to citizenship. In other words, a total of 63 percent of Iowa Republicans oppose a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
For likely Democrat Iowa caucus participants, 83 percent said illegal immigrants should be able to remain in the United States and have a path to citizenship, 9 percent said they should stay, but without a path to citizenship, and 8 percent said they should be required to leave.
“Iowa, with the caucuses that kick off the 2016 election, is a perfect example of just how differently Democrats and Republicans see completely different worlds,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
The poll was conducted from June 20 to June 29, 2015, via live interviews on both land lines and cell phones statewide in Iowa. There were a total of 1427 participants, comprised of 666 likely Republican caucus-goers and 761 Democrats. The margin of error for the Republican sample was +/- 3.8 percent, and for the Democrat sample was +/- 3.6 percent.

Open-Borders Sociology Prof. Behind New DHS Rule Freeing Illegal Alien Families

A renowned open-borders sociology professor with published research on “victims of deportation policies” is behind the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) new regulation ordering the release of illegal immigrant families in U.S. custody.

This week DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson announced the outrageous new policy that will let illegal immigrant families go free in the U.S. All they have to do is claim a “credible or reasonable fear of persecution in their home countries,” Johnson said. The country’s top homeland security official explained that he decided to create this new measure after conducting numerous visits to family residential centers, including one in Karnes, Texas, where he spoke to the Central American mothers who “came to this country seeking a better life for their children and themselves.”

Based on the detention center visits and chats with illegal immigrants Johnson concluded that the government had to make “substantial changes” in detention practices with respect to families with children. “In short, once a family has established eligibility for asylum or other relief under our laws, long-term detention is an inefficient use of our resources and should be discontinued,” Johnson said. DHS is also ensuring access to lawyers, paid for by American taxpayers, for the detained illegal aliens as well as social workers, educational services and comprehensive medical care.

Of interesting note is that Johnson failed to mention the driving force behind his agency’s new policy. His name is Luis Zayas and he is the dean of Social Work at the University of Texas, Austin. In late May a group of pro-illegal alien members of congress, led by amnesty champion Luis Gutierrez of Illinois, wrote Johnson a letter demanding an end to the use of family detention for illegal immigrants. “It is undeniable that detention in a secure facility is detrimental to mothers and children and is not reflective of our values as a nation,” the letter states. “Children require special protections and should not be placed in jail-like settings.”

To back the claim, the lawmakers cite an affidavit written by Zayas, who asserts that children of undocumented or illegal immigrants are often the unintended victims of deportation policies. The professor has examined the effects of deportation on the psychosocial functioning of U.S.-born children of illegal alien Mexicans, according to his university biography, and often testifies in immigration courts on behalf of children and their families. “Presently, Zayas is focusing on the plight of citizen-children whose parents are being deported,” the public university biography states.

This background information is important because Zayas is the expert cited in the persuading letter Congress fired off to Johnson. Zayas determined that the detained illegal immigrant children are “facing some of the most adverse childhood conditions of any children I have ever interviewed or evaluated.” The professor further concluded that “detention has had serious and long-lasting impacts on the psychological health and well-being” of families at one center and that these impacts were evident in families who were detained for as little as two weeks. Days later the agency created after 9/11 to protect the nation from another terrorist attack, actually caved into this absurd assessment.

OBAMA ADMIN. PARTNERS WITH BOSTON, ENCOURAGING MORE IMMIGRANTS TO BECOME CITIZENS

The Obama administration is continuing its efforts to encourage more immigrants to become citizens, announcing agreement with the city of Boston to promote naturalization.

The agreement with Boston’s Mayor Martin Walsh comes days after U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced another citizenship promotion partnership with New York City.
“There could be no better time for this kind of effort,” Walsh said in a statement. “Like so many places in our country, Boston is becoming more diverse, and this agreement will further the work being done by USCIS and our Office of New Bostonians, which is vitally important to our future.”
Tuesday USCIS Director León Rodríguez and Walsh signed a letter of agreement to expand the effort in citizenship promotion to Boston for three years.
“We look forward to working with the Mayor’s Office of New Bostonians and other city services in providing tools to help immigrants contribute to a thriving, welcoming and innovative Boston,” Rodríguez said.
As in New York City, Boston’s Public Libraries will soon have “Citizenship Corners” carrying USCIS materials promoting and informing immigrants about citizenship. The city will also offer such information as schools, community centers and city buildings.
Additionally, Boston will also hold naturalization information sessions, offer tips on avoiding immigration scams and broadcast public service announcements about citizenship.

Immigration Showdown: Coulter Dominates Maher Panel vs. Amnesty Champion Gutierrez!

Columnist and author of “Adios, America” Ann Coulter debated immigration with former MSNBC host Joy Reid and Congressman Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time.”
The discussion began with Maher and Coulter debating the number of illegal immigrants in the US, and the prior immigration system in the US. Coulter said that, “We used to have an immigration policy where we would choose the best in the world, and that was changed,” Maher rebutted, “Well, we would choose the whitest in the world.”
Coulter continued, “Look, the pre-1970 immigrants were more educated, made more money, were more likely to buy houses, and 30% of them went home. Now, no one goes home, they go on welfare, and they are far more likely to be on welfare than the native population, I think a nation’s policies should be concerned with the people already here, and that includes the immigrants who came last year and the year before. It should be people who live here benefit, not to become the battered woman’s shelter of the world, where we’re bringing in the hardest cases, and the wife beaters, and single mother with eight kids.” Maher responded that he didn’t think those assertions were born out by statistics, because Coulter said there were 30 million illegal immigrants, while government stats say there are 12 million. Coulter argued that her number from Bear Stearns is more accurate than the Census figure that the 12 million came from because “people who have trekked thousands of miles, left their families behind, broken laws, stolen Social Security cards, are not going to be filling out government surveys.”
Maher answered that he still thinks that number is high, given lower birthrates among Mexican women, and “I’ve read everywhere that actually the net immigration from Mexico in the last seven years has been zero.” The two then agreed to suppose 30 million is correct, Coulter stated, “the point at issue is, should America’s immigration policy be used to benefit the people already here, or should it be benefiting Pakistani pushcart operators, illiterate in their own language, never mind ours, who come here, go on welfare, commit terrorism, engage in crimes. Why wouldn’t you look out across the world, like a sports team does, and try to get the crème de la crème?”
Gutierrez was then offered a rebuttal that Coulter was “revving up, you know, it’s a like a Latino registration machine,” and warned “you’re never going to take the White House with this kind of politics ever again–.” Maher then told Gutierrez “that didn’t exactly answer her question.”
Reid then responded, “We were earlier talking, and touched on the issue of slavery. Ever since the forcible removal of millions of African-Americans from chattel slavery, this country has been importing new slave labor because this country wants, and runs, and is fueled by cheap labor,” a point Coulter agreed with. Reid added, that cheap labor was and continues to be drawn from Mexico by “people who are on your side, big agriculture…the big corporate interests who want people to come here.” Coulter reacted that she is not on the side of big agriculture or large corporations, and Maher pointed out that Coulter agreed with Reid’s point in her book.

First Mary Jo Kopechne, Then America

First Mary Jo Kopechne, Then America
Sen. Ted Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act allowed the Democrats to start winning elections the same way they win recounts: by enlarging the pool of voters.
Liberals couldn’t convince Americans to agree with them, but they happened to notice that the people of most other countries in the world already agreed with them. So Sen. Ted Kennedy’s immigration act brought in millions of poverty-stricken foreigners to live off the American taxpayer and bloc-vote for the Democrats.
The American people aren’t changing their minds. Americans are becoming a minority to other, new people.
Deft politicians used to know how to convince the 15 percent on the fence. But even Reagan would look at today’s electorate and say: Who are you guys? We live in a different country, and I don’t remember moving.
At the precise moment in history when the United States abandoned any attempt to transmit American values to its own citizens, never mind immigrants, the 1965 immigration act began dumping the poorest of the poor from around the world on our country.
When the Republican Congress passed welfare reform in 1996, one of the provisions prohibited immigrants from going on welfare for the first five years they were here — a mere five years! It turned out to be the single biggest savings of the entire welfare bill.
The New York Times immediately denounced the provision, demanding that at “the very least,” immigrants get food stamps if they become “disabled” after arriving — i.e., the biggest scam in the welfare apparatus — and also that they be eligible for health care under Medicaid. Previewing the line that would soon be adopted by the Democrats’ plaything, Sen. Marco Rubio, the Times proclaimed: “After all, legal immigrants pay taxes like everyone else.”

121 CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS FACING DEPORTATION CHARGED WITH MURDER IN U.S. FOLLOWING RELEASE FROM CUSTODY

More than 120 convicted criminals who were supposed to be deported from the U.S. after they were released from custody between 2010-2014 face murder charges, new Immigration and Customs Enforcement data show.

“Between FY 2010 and FY 2014, there were 121 unique criminal aliens who had an active case at the time of release and were subsequently charged with homicide-related offenses. Of these 121 individuals who were bonded out, 33 were released on a bond set by [The Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review] and 24 were released pursuant to the Supreme Court decision in Zadvydas v. Davis,” ICE revealed in a newly released letter to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
According to Grassley and National Interest Subcommittee Chairman
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)
80%
, the news is “disturbing.”

In a letter dated Friday to Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Secretary of State John Kerry, and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, Grassley and Sessions point out that the murders are the shocking tip of the iceberg.
“This disturbing fact follows ICE’s admission that, of the 36,007 criminal aliens it released from ICE custody in FY 2013, 1,000 have been re-convicted of additional crimes in the short time since their release,” Grassley and Sessions wrote.
“I am writing to ask whether the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the State Department, and the Justice Department are fully leveraging existing tools and resources to prevent these dangerous outcomes,” they add.
