Customs Agents To James O’Keefe: You’re Being Detained For Investigating The Federal Government

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents who detained conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe at the airport specifically asked him about the work he’s done investigating the “federal government.”

O’Keefe was detained by U.S. customs agents Monday after arriving at the airport in Nassau, Bahamas en route to Miami. Agents told O’Keefe that he was being detained for crossing back and forth across the U.S.-Mexico border while dressed as Osama bin Laden in a video that was published by The Daily Caller. Agents marked his passport with an “X” and explained that he would be detained every time he enters U.S. territory henceforth. (RELATED: Feds Detain At Least One Border Crosser).

O’Keefe was not allowed to videotape the encounter as he wished. The below transcript, provided to TheDC, was written by O’Keefe as closely as possible to the actual conversation that he had with the customs agents during the standoff at the airport. Here is the dialogue that went down:

James: Well, each and every time I go back into the country you guys do this, and its because I’m a journalist and you don’t like my journalism, so let’s just get this over with, here’s my ticket with the X, just tell what room you want me in.

Customs: (Looking at computer for 15 seconds). It’s not because you’re a journalist. (Turns towards me). What type of journalism do you do?

What do you think?

James: I do like 60 minutes, hidden camera work, investigative, sort of like the guy who catches the predators on NBC Dateline you know?

Customs: But what specific type of journalism have you done investigating the federal government?

What do you think?

James: Well, first ACORN was shut down because I posed as a pimp.

What do you think?

Customs: Not the prostitution, the other one involving the federal government.

What do you think?

James: You mean the Obamacare navigators, where many were fired counseling to commit fraud?

Customs: No not that one, what did you do involving the federal govenrnment at the borders?

James: Well clearly you know which video that was. Why don’t you tell me?

Customs: No, I need you to tell me.

James: That was the one where I legally waded into the Rio Grande dressed like Osama bin Laden and embarrassed the federal government. DHS secretary was grilled under oath. Are you telling me this is retaliation for that?

Customs: I’m telling you that each time you go through here you will need to give an extra hour because we will do this each time. You have a prior criminal record and broke the law crossing into the United States unlawfully.

James: It wasn’t unlawful, I did nothing but wade back and forth. Millions of Mexicans cross and you don’t detain them for unlawful entry

Customs: You broke the law!

James: I broke the law? I’m a journalist who is trying to expose something important. Deep down in your heart when you set the burocreacy aside you have admit it needed to be exposed.

Veritas Project exposes Enroll America, Team Obama’s Rule No. 17

Before James O’Keefe and the Veritas Project, conservatives could only speculate whether liberals and government officials would facilitate prostitution or fraud.

While it is gratifying to know that our suspicions were correct, it is sad for the country that we were right.

O’Keefe’s latest expose of Enroll America and the resignation of Chris Tarango, the group’s Texas communications director, also highlights a familiar problem for the mainstream media covering President Barack Obama and his administration.

After weeks, months or years of ignoring a scandal, how does the MSM explain that out-of-the-blue some liberal is resigning?

When Americans ask why someone just quit, the MSM has no choice but to explain it was over a scandal they never bothered to tell you about.

In the case of Tarango, the young man was way, way too open about his group’s commitment to Obama and his policies. It was not a surprise, conservatives suspected it all along. Enroll America’s board of directors is packed with not only friends ofObamaCare, but individuals from companies that will directly benefit from the president’s healthcarereforms: Teva Pharmaceuticals, Maryland Citizen’s Health Initiative, Families USA, National Association of Community Health Centers, Blue Shield of California, Kaiser Permanente, the American Hospital Association and, of course, sadly, the Catholic Health Association of the United States, led by pro-abortion advocate Sister Carol Keehan.

The non-partisan watchdog Cause of Action filed a July 29 complaint with the IRS about Enroll America that escaped the notice of the MSM. 

At the time, the group’s executive director Daniel Epstein said it was absurd to grantEnroll America non-profit status, when it was obviously the marketing arm of profit-seeking entities.

[VIDEO] James O’Keefe confronts his old nemesis — and hilarity ensues

Conservative filmmaker and activist James O’Keefe confronted the former U.S. attorney who prosecuted him in an amusing new video.

O’Keefe was attempting to give a copy of his bestselling book to his old nemesis Jim Letten, now a dean at Tulane University School of Law. In the book, O’Keefe alleges that Letten’s close ties to Sen. Mary Landrieu and President Barack Obama influenced his decision to prosecute O’Keefe.

In January 2010, James O’Keefe and three men were charged by Letten’s office with malicious intent to damage Landrieu’s office phone systems. O’Keefe was sentenced to three years’ probation, 100 hours of community service, and a $1,500 fine in what he says was an unjust prosecution.

After not finding Letten at home and offering a book to Letten’s wife, O’Keefe left a message on Letten’s office voicemail asking to meet with Letten as a prospective law student. O’Keefe has completed one year of law school.

When O’Keefe arrived at Tulane University he was greeted by campus police. Letten, who had been waiting for O’Keefe, then launched into a tirade.

You are violating state law. You’re trespassing. You’re a nasty, little cowardly spud. All of you. You’re hobbits. You are less than I could ever tell you. You are scum.”

Organizing for America Assists Voter Fraud

In a new undercover video sting, James O’Keefe has captured a staffer for Organizing for America, which was established in 2009 to support the Obama Administration’s legislative agenda and is now connected to the Obama campaign, helping an undercover operative get set up to vote twice.

In the new video by the man who helped take down ACORN, an Obama volunteer who is working undercover for James O’Keefe tells Organizing for America’s director in Texas, Stephanie Caballero, that she wants to vote more than once to help re-elect President Obama.

According to O’Keefe’s organization, Caballero is listed in FEC filings as a Democratic National Committee employee.

Caballero then helps the Texas voter and volunteer get the form needed to request an absentee ballot for Florida, a key battleground state. Though Caballero never explicitly says voting twice is allowed, the dialogue in the video shows that she knows what the voter intends to do. Caballero says that she’ll print out the Florida form and “you just have to mail it back.” The double voter says that she doesn’t want “to get in any trouble, but like I said, if no one is gonna know.” Caballero’s laughing response? “Oh my God this is so funny! It’s cool though!” Caballero asks if the volunteer is “going to do what I think you are going to do?,” that is, vote in both Texas and Florida. After the volunteer says, “If no one is going to know,” Caballero gives the forms to the volunteer that will allow her to commit a federal felony by voting twice.
