Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin (WV) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)(MA) went to the Senate floor to push for immediate consideration of a bill that would make the Obamatrade text public — right now Congress has to go to a secured room to review the text and can’t take notes out or discuss what is in it with the public. That motion failed when Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) objected, since it required unanimous consent.

[VIDEO] Dem. Senator: 'Nobody Should Be Forced to Buy a Policy that Costs More than What They Had and Is Inferior'
Democratic senator Joe Manchin said that, under Obamacare, "nobody should be forced to buy a policy that cost more than what they had and is inferior to what they had":
"Senator manchin, you get the last word," said the ABC host this morning. "Are you seeing any indication from anyone in the administration that they are willing to go along with some sort of a delay?"
"I'm not sure," said Manchin. "I haven't spoken in detail with them. But I can tell you: if we have a bipartisan group, which we've had before ... George, nobody should be forced to buy a policy that costs more than what they had and is inferior to what they had. Those things have to be worked out."

[VIDEO] Piers Morgan Asks If Dems Will 'Unleash' Cory Booker on 'Renegade' Ted Cruz
In an interview with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on his Thursday night show, CNN's Piers Morgan sounded just like a Democratic strategist.
Morgan told the Democrat that "you sound eminently reasonable" and accused Sen. Ted Cruz of being the problem in Washington. "[H]e thinks that getting the shutdown was good business for Ted Cruz, Incorporated. What are you going to do about this young renegade who doesn't really care about being reasonable?" Morgan asked Manchin. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

"[H]e thinks that getting the shutdown was good business for Ted Cruz, Incorporated. What are you going to do about this young renegade who doesn't really care about being reasonable?" Morgan asked Manchin. [Video below the break. Audio here.]
If Morgan wasn't being enough of a liberal hack already, he pressed the Democrats to go on the offensive. "What about unleashing your new attack dog, Cory Booker? What about putting him on Cruz point man to point man?" Morgan wondered.
Manchin was actually the more reserved of the two voices, and he refrained from taking direct shots at Cruz. Morgan concluded the interview with some more sugary praise. "Senator Joe Manchin, it's a breath of fresh air talking to you. You are a rare voice of reason in a sea of complete insanity."

Below is a transcript of the segment, which aired on Piers Morgan Live on October 18 at 9:05 p.m. EDT:
PIERS MORGAN: Here's the problem, Senator, is that you sound eminently reasonable and your actions endorsed the fact that you've tried to get through this and ultimately have been successful as have some of the Republicans you've been dealing with. Mitch McConnell today was very reasonable with what he said. He said, "There will be not another shutdown." This is all fine. But you guys aren't the problem. The problem is Senator Ted Cruz who has his gander up, he's got a popular vote now. He's massively more famous than he was two weeks ago. He's getting loads of money pouring in, he's the darling of the Tea Party. And he today is saying "Well, let's not too hasty," because he thinks that getting the shutdown was good business for Ted Cruz, Incorporated. What are you going to do about this young renegade who doesn't really care about being reasonable?

Dem Senator to MSNBC: ‘We Aren’t Trusting Assad, We’re Trusting the Russians’
Appearing on MSNBC with Andrea Mitchell, Sens. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Joe Manchin(D-WV) explained their opposition to PresidentBarack Obama’s push for intervention in the Syrian civil war. They expressed their hope that the so-called Russian solution may avert a crisis. When pressed about the lack of enforceability or accountability of the Russian plan, Heitkamp said that the U.S. was not trusting Syrian PresidentBashar al-Assad to make good on his word. “We’re trusting the Russians,” she explained.
“Why would you trust Assad,” Mitchell asked Heitkamp. “Assad has, until this initiative, denied there was an attack, denied he was part of it, denied he has chemical weapons. Why on earth would we trust this man to tell us he’s turned them all over to international monitoring and that he is signing a treaty that he’s never redesigned?”
“We’re not trusting Assad,” Heitkamp explained. “We’re trusting the Russians to come to the table…”
“Whoa,” Mitchell interjected. “You’re trusting the Russians?”
“We’re trusting Russia’s intent at this point to actually deliver the right set of circumstances,” Heitkamp clarified.
Manchin stepped in and clarified that the U.S. does not have a trusting relationship with Moscow, but the international community should back up the Russian proposal.
Heitkamp further explained that she does not believe “we should trust what anyone says,” but that “we should trust what they do.”
