Kids Are Back in School and Let’s Just Say Their Food Has Them “Thanking” Michelle Obama

School is starting up again and kids will be hitting the cafeteria for some less-than-stellar food. A popular meme includes thanking First Lady Michelle Obama on social media for gross or sub-par lunches in an effort to mock her health plan, otherwise known as the “Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act.”

Here are some of the best #ThanksMichelleObama pictures from back to school week.

Kids do say the darndest things.

School board member accused of stealing Michelle O’s lunch money

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – A Prince George’s County school board member is under investigation after she allegedly lied about her income to secure free school lunch for her child.
Lyn Mundey resigned from the board June 1, and her resignation takes effect August 24, but ABC 7 News reports several of her constituents want her gone immediately.
“To take advantage of the system when there are people out here that really need it is ridiculous, it’s sad,” resident Brenda Payne said.
The news site obtained an email from a federal investigator to the suburban Washington, D.C. school district authored in April identifying Mundey as one of multiple Government Accountability Office employees who are allegedly scamming the federal government’s free and reduced price lunch program.
The email states that Mundey, who works as a GAO management analyst, was among several of the agency’s employees “receiving free lunch despite earning salaries much greater than the 133 percent of the poverty rate” required to qualify for the special lunch program.
The email alleges Mundey reported “no income at all in 2011 and 2012,” which infuriated local resident Lee Krulisch.
“I mean that’s a criminal act to me to falsify information,” he said.
Ernest Tuck, another Upper Marlboro resident, seemed to agree.
“There are so many people in the country that need it and so I think it’s terrible,” he said.
ABC 7 News reports that Mundey called into the newsroom about an hour before the story posted around 7:30 p.m. Monday to defend herself.

“She denies any ethical violations, claims she put money in her daughter’s lunch account and said she is unaware of an investigation,” the news site reports.
ABC 7 News confirmed Mundey is the subject of a criminal investigation by the Prince George’s County state’s attorney over the alleged lunch program scam.
The Washington Post reports Mundey was appointed to the school board by the county’s executive, Rushern L. Baker III in August 2013 to fill a seat vacated by Carletta Fellows, who resigned the month prior after only six months on the board.
At the time, Baker said Mundey, a single mother of a high schooler, “will bring a new level of energy and commitment, plus an inspiring story of focus and determination that I am confident will resonate with our students, parents, faculty and staff.”
“Ms. Mundey is invested in our schools as a parent, alumni and true advocate for public education,” Baker said in a 2013 statement.
Mundey graduated from the district’s Bowie High School before gaining a degree from the University of Maryland.
“I am a single parent and I know a lot of families in my district that look like mine,” Mundey said when she was appointed, according to the Post. “I want to assist those parents in any way that I can as they try to get what we all want a quality education for our children.”

Sailors Blame Michelle Obama For Navy's Fried Food Ban

Getty Images/Scott Olson
Sailors outraged over the Navy’s plan to phase out fried foods from its menus have found the perfect vessel for their anger in First Lady Michelle Obama.
The First Lady doesn’t set nutrition policy for the nation’s fleets. But that hasn’t stopped more than two dozen critics—many of them current and former Navy personnel—from flooding a Navy Times Facebook thread to blame FLOTUS, who has made combating obesity and promoting healthy eating her signature issues.

“Is Michelle Obama now playing big sister to the military hotline?” asked Robert Leon Harke?
Mike Dibble chimed in: “First the kids, now the troops.”
Others reacting to the story soon piled on.

Navy Secretary Ray Mabus hinted at a host of sweeping changes to sailor fitness and nutrition back in May, The Navy Times reported. In addition to forgoing french fries and fried chicken, sailors will also no longer be able to order whole milk at chow halls. Instead, they will have to go with either skim or soy milk.
The fried food ban is expected to go fleet-wide in 2017

Michelle Obama reveals her 'modest' $600k changes to White House State Dining Room - months after her florist quit amid reports of 'infighting' between designers

Michelle Obama has given a touch-up to the White House State Dining Room, the latest interior design change that will endure long after she leaves the building at a cost of $595,000.

Her modest changes to the room where many dinners and other events are held follow this year's more dramatic remake of the Old Family Dining Room and the unveiling of the Obama china service.

The change, which has been years in the making, comes just months after head florist Laura Dowling quit her post and was escorted from the building by security.

DailyMail.com reported that Dowling had been pushed out by 'jealous' rivals from her post.

Sources close to Dowling suggested she was upset at having to leave and blamed her demise on the intense rivalry that exists within the small coterie of decorators and designers that serve the White House.

'She is very sad about leaving the White House,' said one source on condition of anonymity.

'She was very proud to work there and this has come as a shock. It's all about jealousy - Laura has not put a foot wrong.

'She was very hardworking and she has always been professional and passionate about her work. She and her husband have said they can't talk about it now.

'But they've said that when the time comes they will reveal what really happened.'

Kids Create Salt Black Markets in Cafeterias Due to Michelle Obama’s Lunch Rules

School administrators testify to Congress on ‘unintended consequences’ of the law

Children are creating their own black markets to trade and sell salt due to First Lady Michelle Obama’s school lunch rules.
During a hearing before the House Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, chaired by Rep. Todd Rokita (R., Ind.), a school administrator told Congress of the “unintended consequences” of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.
“Perhaps the most colorful example in my district is that students have been caught bringing–and even selling–salt, pepper, and sugar in school to add taste to perceived bland and tasteless cafeteria food,” said John S. Payne, the president of Blackford County School Board of Trustees in Hartford City, Indiana.
“This ‘contraband’ economy is just one example of many that reinforce the call for flexibility [with the rules],” he said.
Payne noted other problems with the “one-size-fits-all” approach to providing healthier meals to students, including fewer kids participating in the program and higher food waste. The trend started in 2012, when the school lunch law, which was championed by Mrs. Obama, went into effect.
“Students are avoiding cafeteria food,” Payne said. “More students bring their lunch, and a few parents even ‘check out’ their child from campus, taking them to a local fast-food restaurant or home for lunch.”
Payne also said school fundraisers like bake sales, have been canceled due to the rules, and “whole-grain items and most of the broccoli end up in the trash” in his district.
Dr. Lynn Harvey agreed that the whole-grain requirement is not working, as kids refuse to eat dense and dry biscuits, and “unpalatable” grits.
“When it comes to whole grain-rich variations of biscuits, grits, crackers and cornbread, all too often, students simply toss them into the trash cans,” said Harvey, who serves as chief of school nutrition services at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, which oversees lunch programs for schools that enroll 1.5 million students.
“This product dissatisfaction has contributed to a decline in breakfast participation in 60 percent of North Carolina’s school districts,” she said.

Is Michelle self-cast in ‘underdog’ role recruiting for next revolution activists?

Okay, we get the picture the mainstream sends.  First Lady Michelle Obama is so much in demand as a celebrity that she gets to sip tea at will with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace and merits “an affectionate reunion” with Barack “bro” Prime Minister David Cameron and his Mrs. on the steps of Downing Street.

Oh, the powers protocol bestows on the wife,  daughter and even the mother-in-law of a president.  Just as the rarified gentry of the Victorian era, when matrons waited at home for other mavens to come calling, world leaders long ago took for themselves, the same unalienable rights.

The big picture the mainstream media never shows is the gallivanting Michelle serving up her trademark malicious menu of malcontent, the one that focuses on everything negative and that potentially feeds the festering resentment of today’s restless youth.

But then again Michelle’s incurable state of ‘Me-ism’ is not a pretty picture.

As keynote speaker at graduation ceremonies, like the one at King College Prep High School in Chicago’s South Side this year,  she offered no hope, no inspiration to eager young graduates going out into the world.  Instead, she spun again the sorry tale of how her and her husband suffered at the hands of a supposedly racist society:

“I know the struggles many of you face, how you walk the long way home to avoid the gangs; how you fight to concentrate on your schoolwork when there’s too much noise at home; how you keep it together when your family’s having a hard time making ends meet. But more importantly, I know the strength of this community.”

MICHELLE OBAMA VOWS TO During her European tour promoting her anti-obesity program ‘Let’s Move!’,

During her European tour promoting her anti-obesity program ‘Let’s Move!’, First Lady Michelle Obama indicated that she would continue fighting obesity for the rest of her life.

“While I am in my final stretch as First Lady, I have no intention of slowing down on this issue,” she explained to an Italian news organization. “I plan to continue this work long after I leave the White House.”
Obama pointed out that in spite of everything she has done on the issue, “not a single country has reversed these obesity trends in a lasting way.”
In America, she explained, childhood obesity rates have “stopped rising” but that number is still too high.
“Right now, one in three kids in the U.S. is overweight or obese – for African American and Hispanic kids, the rate is nearly 40 percent,” she said. “And obesity is now one of the leading causes for preventable death and disease in the United States.”
The First Lady proudly highlighted some of the accomplishments, including the fact that children were going to more daycare centers “where fruits and vegetables have replaced cookies and juice.”
She boasted that chain restaurants made healthier kids’ menus while food companies beverage cut “trillions” of calories from their products.

[VIDEO] On NBC, Seinfeld Slams 'Creepy PC Thing' 'Moving the Lines In' on Comedy

Jerry Seinfeld blasted political correctness on the early Wednesday edition of NBC's Late Night With Seth Meyers. Seinfeld cited how he recently got a negative reaction to a "gay French king" joke: "I can imagine a time when people say, 'Well, that's offensive to suggest that a gay person moves their hands in a flourishing motion, and you now need to apologize.' I mean, there's a creepy PC thing out there that really bothers me."

The comedian's remarks came days after he contended that political correctness, especially on college campuses, is ruining comedy. Just before Seinfeld targeted this form of left-wing censorship, host Seth Meyers brought up the controversy surrounding the July 2008 cover of The Atlantic that depicted Michelle Obama as a Black Panther and Barack Obama as a Muslim with the magazine's editor, David Remnick. Remnick explained that "comedy should often...test the limits. Louie C.K. did it on Saturday Night Live just recently – and press the boundaries of taste and decorum." He also asserted that the cover "came at a time when a sizeable percentage of the country thought that Barack Obama was a Muslim, and Michelle Obama was a gun-toting Black Panther!"

Meyers then expressed his agreement with his guest's "test the limits" thought about comedy, and added that "there are more people now who will let you know if they think you went over the line than ever before." He turned to Seinfeld for his take on the issue. The stand-up comedian replied by launching his attack on political correctness.
This isn't the first time that Seinfeld has attacked the over-sensitivity of the left. Back in February 2014, the TV star targeted the "anti-comedy" of "PC nonsense" during an interview on CBS This Morning.
The transcript of the relevant portion of the Jerry Seinfeld/David Remnick segment from NBC's Late Night With Seth Meyers on early Wednesday morning:
SETH MEYERS: Your covers, obviously, are cartoons as well. You've had some controversy. This, of course, was a famous – Barack/Michelle [Obama] one. You had some controversy this year with Lena Dunham – wrote a piece that was controversial.
DAVID REMNICK: Lena Dunham wrote a piece called 'Quiz: Dog or Jewish Boyfriend?'
MEYERS: Right – very funny piece-
JERRY SEINFELD: That was really funny-
MEYERS: It was great-
REMNICK: Yeah. The ADL – the Anti-Defamation League – appreciated it less.
MEYERS: Yes. (audience laughs)
REMNICK So I had a little bit of a fight with Abe Foxman at the ADL. But, you know, it worked out. It's okay.
MEYERS: Are you, with your magazine, when you, sort of, court these sort of-
