Reince Priebus Predicts 2014 ‘Tsunami Election’ for GOP
“I think we’re in for a tsunami-type election in 2014,” Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus told the audience at Tuesday morning’s Christian Science Monitor breakfast in Washington, D.C. Looking ahead to this fall’s midterm elections, Priebus boldly predicted big gains for the GOP, especially in the Senate.
”My belief is, it’s going to be a very big win, especially at the U.S. Senate level, and we may add some seats in congressional races,” Priebus predicted. “But I need to and we need to at the RNC make sure that we can capture the positives and the benefits we’ve been able to provide in 2014 and build on that to have success in 2016, which is a very different type of election.”
The chairman went on to “guess” that the biggest demographic gains for Republicans would come from young people and women as a direct result of President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act. “It’s very, very, very personal among women losing your doctor, getting your insurance canceled,” he said. “Then young people, Obamacare is intentionally designed to screw young people over. Actuaries sat down, decided, let’s just screw over everyone 35 and younger. That’s what they did.”
Priebus’ comments echo a similarly bullish prediction Rush Limbaugh made last month on his radio show. The host predicted a 2014 “wave election that would make 2010 look small,” when Republicans successfully picked up control of the House.

RNC Statement on FEC Filing
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus today announced that the RNC raised $5.2 million in November 2013. The committee’s cash on hand totals $7.8 million. Year-to-date, the RNC has raised $73.2 million.
The RNC continues to make unprecedented early investments in community-based field staff, precinct-based organizing, data and technology to lay the foundation for victory in 2014, 2016 and beyond.
“Thanks to the trust and support of all our donors, the RNC has easily beaten the DNC in fundraising in 2013 year-to-date. We’re on track to out-raise them for the year,” said Chairman Priebus. “That means we can begin 2014 with a financial advantage over the Democrats.
“But we still have work to do: cultivating relationships with communities, rolling out new voter contact software, sharing our message of equal opportunity. We believe our continued early investments will make the difference in the midterms, and the infrastructure we’re building will also give us a head start into 2016.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to our donors and supporters at all levels. Because of them, we’ve been able to do things the RNC has never done before. I look forward to the year ahead as we continue our work to grow our party—and to win elections up and down the ballot.”

RNC Statement On Latest ObamaCare Delays
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement in response to the latest ObamaCare delays:
“President Obama is now admitting, after years of deliberate lies, that ObamaCare is unaffordable and a hardship for millions of Americans,” said Chairman Priebus. “Unilateral delays by this president can’t change the basic fact we all know: ObamaCare is fundamentally flawed and must be repealed and replaced with a plan that actually improves healthcare.
“It’s disappointing that it took this many years, millions of canceled plans, and hundreds of millions of wasted dollars for the president to see that ObamaCare just isn’t working. How can Democrats claim ObamaCare fixed our healthcare system when it’s made life more expensive, more unpredictable, and more confusing for millions of Americans? ObamaCare just doesn’t treat Americans fairly.”

Priebus: GOP to ‘tattoo’ Obamacare disaster on 2014 Democrats
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Thursday his party stands ready to “tattoo Obamacare” on the foreheads of vulnerable Democrats in next year’s election cycle.
Mr. Priebus, speaking from RNC headquarters on Capitol Hill, said he invited a group of Senate Democrats up for re-election in 2014 and select House Democrats to the press briefing to sing the Affordable Care Act’s praises from the podium.
The RNC purchased domain names for targeted Democrats like Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas — in this case PryorLovesObamaCare.com — “that we would have gladly donated to the campaigns had they showed up,” according to the chairman.
“It looks like it’s just me this morning,” he said.
The event was billed as the “We’re Running on Obamacare” press conference and underscores that the RNC is happy to let Democrats tout President Obama’s law so long as it’s besieged by Web glitches and rising discontent with provisions that resulted in millions of canceled health policies.
“They created this problem,” Mr. Priebus said. “They knew this would happen.”

RNC Chair: 'We Will Tattoo' Obamacare to Dems' Foreheads in 2014
(CNSNews.com) - Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, says Republicans will clobber Democrats with the Affordable Care Act -- and President Obama's false promises about it -- in next year's mid-term elections.
"And this issue is going to be toxic for the Democrats," Priebus told CNN's "State of the Union With Candy Crowley."
"And believe me, we will tattoo it to their foreheads in 2014. We will run on it. And they will lose because of it."
Priebus also told Crowley that Chris Christie isn't the only star in the Republican Party:
"Chris Christie is a conservative. I think he's going to do very well in all of his endeavors. But the fact is we've got stars all over our party, Candy," Priebus said.
"I mean, we're going to be the party that is fresh and new in 2016. It's the Democrats that are going to be rolling out the same old names that you would expect them to roll out. So I love our chances. I love our bench. And we're going to have a great primary season come a few years from no -

[VIDEO] RNC Chairman Lights Up MSNBC Anchor
During a heated interview on MSNBC, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called out anchor Thomas Roberts for liberal bias.
The interview was heated from the start, with Roberts claiming Obamacare has a ”mandate by the people reelecting the president and both houses of Congress,” leading Priebus to accuse Roberts of using “talking points.”
“They’re not talking points,” Roberts exclaimed, referring to a speech Obama gave in Maryland moments before the exchange. “That’s directly from what the president just gave a speech on.”
“It sounds like I’m debating the chairman of the DNC here, Thomas. That’s fine. I’m happy to debate you,” Priebus said.
At the conclusion of the interview, Priebus continued to throttle Roberts by suggesting he interview for a job within the Obama administration’s communications department.

[VIDEO] Priebus: Obama is orchestrating a government shutdown
On Hugh Hewitt’s radio program on Monday night, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus fired a couple of salvos at President Barack Obama for what appears to be his desire for a government shutdown.
But Priebus told Hewitt that strategy, along with his foreign policy, could backfire on Obama and his fellow Democrats.
“I think you’re exactly right,” Priebus said. “I think he wants this thing to happen — a shutdown of the government. I’m totally cynical on the thing. I think that’s exactly what he wants. I in fact think he’s got a bunch of Democrats that are sick and tired of it as well because they’re sitting in red states and they’re nervous as anything they’re going to get stuck with Obamacare then they’re going to have to go out there and defend it. I think it’s actually going to be a big problem in the end though, Hugh, for the Democrats.”
“I think he’s being cute by half, and the biggest albatross around his neck is not only the economy but Obamacare,” Priebus continued. “It’s his foreign policy. He picked the absolute worst time in the agenda to come across as weak and you know he’s not only doing his best to humiliate himself but he’s doing his best to humiliate this country and I think it’s going to come back to bite him.”

Priebus: Obama Speech 'Rudderless Diplomacy'
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said on Tuesday that President Barack Obama's Syrian speech reflected the administration's "rudderless diplomacy."
"The administration's handling of the U.S. response to Syria has been so haphazard it's disappointed even the president's most ardent supporters," Priebus said in a statement. "This rudderless diplomacy has embarrassed America on the world stage."

RNC Launches Obamacare Impact Website
The Republican National Committee has launched a website showing Obamacare’s impact on individual states, the party announced Wednesday.
The website, ObamacareCosts.org, allows visitors to search by zip code for Obamacare’s impact across the United States.
“Each week the RNC will release a video of real news stories highlighting the costs of ObamaCare to Americans around the country. This week’s video, ‘ObamaCare Costs: Colorado,’ shows the difficult choice facing Coloradans: going into debt or paying a fine in order to comply with ObamaCare,” the RNC’s announcement said.
The website also has a place for visitors to sign a petition asking for a repeal of the law.
“With less than a month to go before this disastrous law begins to take full effect, Democrats bear sole responsibility for ObamaCare’s costs,” said RNC chair Reince Priebus in the announcement. “The RNC will ensure voters hold them accountable in 2014 by providing the facts and highlighting real stories from real people from now until Election Day.”
The health insurance exchanges mandated by Obamacare are scheduled to open Oct. 1, although some Republicans are calling for a delay of the law over security concerns.
The Obama administration has delayed several parts of the law, including the mandate that all employers with over 50 full-time employees provide health insurance and that states verify the eligibility of those applying for subsidies.

Harry Reid: Senate Dems Working With Romney Is ‘Laughable’, A ‘Fantasy'
His mouth is the only this that working..
Five days before the election, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has ruled out trying to work with Mitt Romney should he win next week.
"Mitt Romney's fantasy that Senate Democrats will work with him to pass his 'severely conservative' agenda is laughable," Mr. Reid said in a statement on Friday, trying to puncture Mr. Romney's closing election argument that he'll be able to deliver on the bipartisanship President Obama promised in 2008 but has struggled to live up to.
Mr. Reid, a Nevada Democrat and a Mormon, like Mr. Romney, has become the Republican presidential nominee's chief critic this campaign, at one point accusing him of failing to pay taxes — a charge that Mr. Romney has refuted.
With Democrats appearing poised to keep control of the Senate, a President Romney would have to be prepared to work with Mr. Reid, who would set the upper chamber's schedule and determine what bills make it to the floor.
Mr. Reid flatly ruled out following Mr. Romney's agenda, saying he and his colleagues have already voted down many of those proposals, including House Republicans' budget, written by Republican vice presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan.
"Mitt Romney has demonstrated that he lacks the courage to stand up to the tea party, kowtowing to their demands time and again. There is nothing in Mitt Romney's record to suggest he would act any differently as president," Mr. Reid said.
Republicans retorted that Mr. Reid appeared to be preparing himself for a Romney win, and prodded the Democrat, pointing to all the things Mr. Reid wasn't able to get done even when he did have a fellow Democrat as president and Democrats in control of the House.
"While Senator Reid might want to continue Washington politics as usual, I'm confident that there are many Democrats who value balancing the budget, reducing burdensome regulations, investing in U.S. energy resources and will be willing to work with Governor Romney to help grow our stagnant economy," said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.

RNC TO DOJ: INVESTIGATE OBAMA CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Reince Priebus fired off a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder today calling for an investigation into hundreds of millions of dollars in undisclosed Obama campaign contributions.
In part, the letter reads:
"[T]he President's campaign committee does not use the industry standard practices to guard against receiving fraudulent or excessive contributions via the internet," Priebus alleges in the letter. "As a result, the President's campaign committee is vulnerable to the receipt of prohibited contributions. Their failure to adhere to the industry standard has caused these questions regarding whether the campaign is deliberately inviting prohibited contributions."
We're talking about Eric "Fast and Furious" Holder here, so it's let's call it "pretty likely" that Priebus isn't looking for a whole lot of fast action. What he is looking to do, though, is to call some media attention to the issue. Hope does spring eternal.
For four years now, we've all wondered why a media so obsessed with things like Mitt Romney's tax returns (which the IRS have seen) and what private individuals do with their own money in the form of super PACs, is not at all curious about hundreds and hundreds of millions of undisclosed dollars that flooded and are flooding into Obama's '08 and '12 campaign coffers.
That was a joke.
We actually know precisely why the media's not interested -- they're worried that what they find might hurt Obama.
And now, with the release of a bombshell report that points to glaring and seemingly intentional security gaps in Obama's online fundraising juggernaut, the media looks like they might have good reason to worry. The report proves beyond any doubt that the potential for illegal overseas monies to flood into the Obama campaign and remain undisclosed thanks to a ridiculous (in the Internet age) $200 FEC cut-off, is almost limitless.
But as of today, though no one has refuted the report's major findings, the media is less interested in this potential scandal than even the real scandal surrounding Libya. Day after day after day, the Obama campaign keeps chumming its pet media-sharks with distractions like Big Bird and abortion. And day after day after day, the sharks are more than happy to manufacture a frenzy that obscures the real issues -- like hundreds of millions of dollars in undisclosed campaign contributions.
Because the IRS has seen Romney's taxes and most of us couldn't care less about what private people do with their own money in the form of super PACs (unlike a pile of Obama money, super PAC money is publicly disclosed), those media obsessions have nothing to do with accountability or transparency.
The Obama campaign wanted Romney bloodied with his tax returns, and the corrupt media of course obliged. Moreover, the media lost all interest in toxifying super PACs once they figured out Obama wasn't going to be at a fundraising disadvantage. But hundreds of millions of undisclosed dollars going right into a sitting president's campaign coffers is a major story, whether the corrupt media wants to pretend it is or not.
In 2008, McCain disclosed the names and addresses of all his donors, including those under $200.
Obama did not.
In 2012, both Romney and Obama should be pressured to do the same. And if I were Romney, I would follow up on this letter by doing exactly that.

Beware of the Mainstream Media
A recent outburst by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was a near classic example of how some members of the media are so over the moon about Obama that it serves as a reminder that their long knives are out for the Romney-Ryan ticket.
Matthews’ man-crush on Obama is blatant, but I do take some heart from a recent Newsweek cover and article that tore Obama to shreds with facts and figures. It was so unusual, given the usual news magazine adoration accorded Obama that I found it odd, though welcome.
Much depends, of course, on the coverage that will be given by the network news channels, ABC, NBC, CBS, and we should include PBS as well. From my observation, only C-SPAN makes a good faith effort to provide balanced coverage of both parties and political viewpoints.
And, of course, there’s Fox News. “Fair, balanced and unafraid” is their motto, but Fox has been afraid to get anywhere close to the issues involving Obama’s blatantly false birth certificate, the fact that his closest advisors in the White House are committed Marxists, along with his long association with friends who fit that description such as Bill Ayers.
Moreover, Fox has liberal commentators such as Juan Williams on staff and invites liberals to share their views on air as well. That said, its conservative tilt makes it about the only TV news channel a conservative can watch without wanting to throw up
.
Matthews became incensed with GOP Chairman Reince Priebus during a recent discussion prior to the convention, riding his hobby horse that any criticism of Obama is racist. This charge is used to inoculate Obama against a reasoned examination of his policies, all of which have brought the nation to the brink of financial collapse, along with massive unemployment and other ills. In the area of foreign affairs, he has thoroughly weakened America’s capacity to influence the world.

RNC unveils national debt clock, immediately recesses
TAMPA, Fla. — Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus gaveled in the 2012 Republican National Convention Monday afternoon, in the process unveiling two massive national debt clocks.
To cheers from delegates and guest — and with Hurricane Isaac menacing in the Gulf of Mexico — Priebus announced the beginning of the RNC.
“Ladies and gentlemen, by the authority contained in the rules adopted by the 2008 Republican National Convention, the Republican National Committee has directed that the 2012 Republican National Convention be held in Tampa, Fla. starting at 2 p.m. on the 27th day of August 2012,” he said.
“So it is my privilege to proclaim the 2012 Republican National Convention in session and called to order,” Priebus said with six slams of the gavel and immediately announced a recess, ending official activities until Tuesday as a result of Hurricane Isaac.
While in recess, Priebus directed attendees to focus on two large debt clocks overhead — one bearing the ever increasing national debt, the other displaying the debt tally accrued just during the convention.
“For this convention we also want to draw your attention to the unprecedented fiscal recklessness of the Obama administration depicted by the real time national debt clock shown here in the arena,” he said. “For this convention we have actually installed a second national debt clock that will log the debt that accrues during the course of this convention.”
The national debt is at a record $15.9 trillion and that the Obama administration has overseen an $5 trillion increase in the debt.
“This clock reminds every delegate and every American why we are here in Tampa – because America can and must do better,” Priebus said in a statement in advance of the unveiling. “Every American’s share of the national debt has increased by approximately $16,000 during the current administration.”

DRUDGE: BIDEN PREPPING STUNT FOR GOP CONVENTION
Secret Service prepping for Biden to appear at GOP convention, says Drudge
By Alex Pappas, The Daily Caller
Vice President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to crash the party next week when Republicans gather in Tampa, Fla., for the GOP convention.
The Drudge Report cited sources Tuesday saying that Secret Service agents have been spotted in Tampa telling people that they are doing advance work for Biden’s trip. He’s expected to be in Tampa on Monday or Tuesday, the news website reported.
A spokeswoman who answered the phone in the vice president’s office directed questions to the campaign when reached by The Daily Caller. The Obama campaign didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
=========
WaPo: The vice president will be rallying supporters in Tampa on Monday, Aug. 27 — during the Republican National Convention — according to a Democratic source.
==========
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said the GOP will respond tenfold to any Democratic efforts to upstage the party's national convention, amid reports that Vice President Joe Biden will visit Tampa next week.
"I think it's pretty common among parties to play with each other's conventions, and we'll have a pretty big presence in Charlotte as well," Priebus said. "The nice thing about going first is that whatever they do to us, we can do ten times over to them."
Does that mean that Romney may counter-program the Democratic convention in Charlotte next month? Priebus replied "You never know where we are going to be."
"I'm a big believer in: if they punch us, we put on the brass knuckles and punch back," he added.
