Macy’s dumps Trump clothing line in response to immigration comments

Macy’s on Wednesday became the latest company to tell Donald Trump: “You’re fired.”
The retail giant announced it’ll phase out a specialty line of Trump products, after the real estate tycoon and presidential wannabe said too many law-breaking Mexicans are crossing the US border.
“We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation,” Macy’s statement reads.
“In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”
There was no firm timetable of when all of Trump’s products would vanish from Macy’s shelves.
As of early Wednesday afternoon, there were still nearly 100 of Trump dress shirts, ties and accessories still for sale on the Macy’s website.
Dresses and shoes made under the label of his daughter, Ivanka Trump, are considered a separate line and will not by impacted by Wednesday’s announcement, according to a Macy’s rep.

[VIDEO] Justice Department investigating whether airlines are colluding to keep fares high

The U.S. government is investigating possible collusion among major airlines to limit available seats, which keeps airfares high, according to a document obtained by The Associated Press.
The civil antitrust investigation by the Justice Department appears to focus on whether airlines illegally signaled to each other how quickly they would add new flights, routes and extra seats.
A letter received Tuesday by major U.S. carriers demands copies of all communications the airlines had with each other, Wall Street analysts and major shareholders about their plans for passenger-carrying capacity, or "the undesirability of your company or any other airline increasing capacity."
The Justice Department asked each airline for its passenger-carrying capacity both by region, and overall, since January 2010.
Justice Department spokeswoman Emily Pierce confirmed that the department is looking into potential "unlawful coordination" among some airlines. She declined to comment further or say which airlines are being investigated.
On a day when the overall stock market was up, stocks of the major U.S. airlines ended the day down 1 to 3 percent on news of the investigation.
American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines all said they received a letter and are complying. Several smaller carriers, including JetBlue Airways and Frontier Airlines, said they had not been contacted by the government.
The airlines publicly discussed capacity early last month in Miami at the International Air Transport Association's annual meeting. After hearing about that meeting, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., requested a Justice Department investigation.
The department had tried to block the most recent merger, the 2013 joining of American Airlines and US Airways, but ultimately agreed to let it proceed after the airlines made minor concessions.

Congress’s ObamaCare ‘Small Business’ Fraud

Americans fed up with the unbridled arrogance of the nation’s “ruling class” are about to be further infuriated.

As American Commitment president Phil Kerpen reveals, there’s yet another outrageous scandal occurring on Capitol Hill, where the House and Senate have falsely certified themselves as small businesses so they can fund themselves and their staffs with taxpayer-funded health insurance—sidestepping ObamaCare provisions in the process. “They conspired to break the law,” Kerpen told Front Page.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Kerpen reminded viewers that Americans had “demanded” Congress enter the healthcare exchanges like everyone else. Nevertheless, when the time came for members of Congress and their staffs to be subjected to the very same law they imposed on the public, “members of Congress of both parties didn’t want to do it,” Kerpen noted. “They didn’t want to lose taxpayer funding for their premiums for themselves and their staff.”

To avoid being treated like every other American, members of Congress cut a deal with President Obama. He obliged them with an Office of Personnel Management (OPM) rule change in 2013, insulating these insiders from the premium increases of between $5000 and $10,000 per person they would have otherwise faced if they were forced give up their taxpayer-subsidized policies and buy their insurance through the ObamaCare exchanges. The change was instituted because Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) had inserted a provision in ObamaCare stating that members of Congress and their staffs had to be covered by plans “created” by the Affordable Care Act or “offered through an exchange.” “That was probably the only good provision they put in the bill,” Kerpen remarked to FP.

And though they managed to wiggle their way around that provision, Congress still had a problem, because individual exchanges contained no mechanism for employer contributions. So Congress filed falsified documents containing the ludicrous claim that the House and Senate each have less than 50 employees, allowing them to qualify under the “small business” provisions contained in the healthcare bill. The sheer audacity of that claim is belied by the reality that more than 13,700employees have signed up for the plan. “What they did is they lied,” Kerpen explained. “They filed false documents, one claiming the U.S. House of Representatives has less than 50 employees, another claiming the U.S. Senate has less than 50 employees.”

The falsifications contained in the documents were outrageous. As National Review’s Brendan Bordelon reveals, the “application said Congress employed just 45 people. Names were faked; one employee was listed as ‘First Last,’ another simply as ‘Congress,’” he writes.

Union Members Support Bernie Sanders

Report: 'Hillary Clinton has a union problem'

Bernie Sanders has turned Hillary Clinton’s parade to the White House into a competitive race for the Democratic nomination, as unions prefer Clintons’ socialist opponent.
LaborUnionReport.com organized an informal poll in mid-June 2015 and the results showed that union support for Hillary Clinton was lacking significantly.
Seventy-six percent of union members favor Bernie Sanders for president in 2016. Only 11 percent of union members favored Hillary Clinton.
The report said, “due to her time spent with the employer-friendly Rose law firm (which helps employers fight unions), as well as her stint on the board of directors for Wal-Mart, many union members believe Clinton cannot be trusted.”
Unions distrust Hillary Clinton’s intimacy with Wall Street, according to the report. In addition to that concern, Clinton declined to weigh in on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Labor leaders are opposed to the TPP.
“Hillary Clinton has a union problem,” the report said. “Since no Democrat can win the White House without union support, it is the union problem that may pose a bigger problem than all the others … and it has her campaign very worried.”

Department Of Education Still Standing By Comments Official Made In Debunked Rolling Stone Article

Sabrina Rubin Erdely YouTube screenshot/PBS NewsHour
The Department of Education is sticking by negative comments an official with the agency’s office of civil rights made about a University of Virginia dean during an interview with disgraced Rolling Stone reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely.
The dean, Allen Groves, says that he was maligned in the article, “A Rape on Campus.” In that now-debunked piece, Erdely asked Catherine Lhamon, a 2013 Obama appointee to head the Department of Education’s civil rights division, about remarks Groves made regarding sexual assault investigations at UVA during a Sept. 2014 board of trustees meeting.
Video of the meeting shows that Groves responded to a question from a trustee about any ongoing sexual assault investigations at the school. While Groves appeared to give a thorough and measured response, Erdely characterized him as much more nefarious in her 9,000-word article.
Erdely wrote that after the trustee asked the question, Groves “swooped in with a smooth answer.” Groves downplayed the inquiry into the school by saying that the Department of Education’s investigation was only “a standard compliance review,” Erdely claimed.
But in fact, as video of the meeting shows, Groves did not “swoop in” with an answer — he was directly asked. He also told the trustee that UVA was being investigated for a specific sexual assault complaint and was also undergoing a standard compliance review.
Lhamon was not at the meeting. But Erdely described Groves’ remarks, and the civil rights officer offered a response, telling the reporter that Groves comments were “deliberate and irresponsible.”
“Nothing annoys me more than a school not taking seriously their review from the federal government about their civil rights obligations,” Lhamon said.
But in a March letter to Steve Coll and Sheila Coronel, the two Columbia University deans who did an independent investigation of Rolling Stone’s failures, Groves pointed to the video of the meeting and said that Erdely’s report “did not reveal the true substance of my response.”

HOLY CRAP!! OBAMA BLOCKING NEW STADIUM OVER REDSKINS’ NAME!!

THIS is absolutely absurd. The ridiculous clown baby president Obama is using the power of the Federal Government to pressure the Redskins to change their name by DENYING their ability to build a new stadium!!! What the hell country do we live in??!
The Obama administration will likely block Washington, D.C., authorities from building a new stadium for the NFL’s Washington Redskins because of objections to the team’s name.
The National Park Service (NPS) owns the land under the 54-year-old Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, a venue two miles east of the Capitol that hosted the Redskins from 1961 to 1996. Some city leaders want to demolish the current stadium and build a new one to lure the football team back from suburban Maryland.
But Interior Secretary Sally Jewell, whose department includes the NPS, told D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser in April that, unless the Redskins change their name, the Obama administration would not work to accommodate construction of a new venue, according to The Washington Post.
In a letter a month later, a local NPS official told Bowser the agency opposed the idea of building a new stadium.
“As I believe the Secretary made clear in our discussion, the NPS will not take a position in support of such an extension at this time,” Robert A. Vogel, a regional NPS director, wrote in the letter obtained by the Post.
Seriously?! That damnable buffoon is grabbing his ankles for the terrorist mullahs in IRAN and the sadistic Communist totalitarians in CUBA but he grows a spine to screw over the REDSKINS??!
What the hell happened to freedom????!
Oh and check this out – this is how the damnable idiots at the Associated Press headlined this story. They don’t even MENTION Obama, they put ALL THE BLAME on the Redskins!!!

Veteran Denied Care At Two VA Facilities Thought No One Would Believe Him, So He Filmed It

The VA clinic in Lawrenceville, Ga., initially turned him away for the same reason, which is why he decided to bring his camera along to the Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Oakwood. He received the same response. But this time, he captured the interaction on camera.

The full video shows 33-year-old Dorsey waiting for five minutes before telling an employee that he needs a transfer from the VA system in Athens.

“We’re not accepting any new patients — not this clinic,” the VA employee said in response, signaling an abrupt end to the interaction.

Dorsey, who served in Iraq in 2003, has PTSD and was seeking treatment for escalating symptoms. Aside from the Oakwood clinic, Dorsey’s other option is in Atlanta, which is more than 50 miles away from his current location. PTSD is a fairly common diagnosis in veterans returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The VA states that anywhere between 11-20 percent of those veterans suffer from PTSD.

“It takes a lot to say, ‘You know what, I need to get help,’” Dorsey told the New York Daily News. “And for a veteran to be told on multiple occasions that they can’t get help is just very, very discouraging.”

While this means that the VA Choice program applies, no employees offered that information. It was only after he had discussed his experiences at the two clinics with another veteran that he learned of the program.

“We have some very serious geographical issues. Now we have the VA Choice card but we have doctors who won’t accept it or don’t understand it,” Jerry Edwards, founder of North Georgia Veteran’s Outreach Center, told Military Times.

Not only do doctors often refuse to accept the program, but internally, the VA has previously tried to interpret the legislation establishing the program to mean that if any facility exists within 40 miles of a veteran, regardless of whether that facility provides appropriate care, then that veteran can’t access the program.

Other administrative problems have plagued the VA. Over 500,000 veterans have inquired about the VA Choice Program from the period between November 2014 and May. Just 50,000 received authorization for appointments.

A Speech to Win The GOP Nomination

The Republican Candidates in 2016.
The Republican Candidates in 2016.
“The Crown of France Was Lying In The Gutter. I Just Leaned Over and Picked It Up.” – Napoleon Bonaparte
Is there an actual Conservative left in America? Does anyone in the herd trolling for the 2016 GOP Nomination actually want to stand up against post-modern American Progressivism? Will someone, anyone stand up to the Paris Commune Left before they sodomize all that is decent? Literally.
One person can make this stop. One person can make these people back off. One person can end it now. They just have to fight back in a ruthless and punitive fashion. Let one candidate, just one candidate stand up in front of the GOP voters and say the following.
“Today, my fellow Americans. Today is the day the Special Snowflakes get melted with the white phosphorus. Today is the day that we cut the dole out and you can go read 2 Thessalonians 3:10 if you don’t like it. Folks, you can defend this flag right here. Or; you can get used to living under this one, orthat one.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I take my hat off to our enemies, The American Progressive. They sure have made me care. They have woken me up from my epistemological slumber and I’m as cranky as an old, curmudgeonly codger ever gets when he gets woken up an hour or two too early. They made me care and I’m running for the Presidency to make those sons of insect-sucking anteaters sorry they ever woke me the (expletive-deleted) up. “
“Yes the presstitutes, the Hollywoods, and the world-class swimmers in post-modern America’s lifestyle septic tank are all running me down. They think I’m a loathsome cross between Elmer Gantry and Gomer Pyle. The sorry misbreeds have this ½ right. I’m a simple man from a simple town and I don’t get the coruscating brilliance of glorifying sadistic and societally lethal deviance. I don’t get where others get off taking the money of the citizens and using those funds to bribe corporate scumbags and activists hoodlums not to shut down our workplaces or burn our major cities.”
“I just don’t get why anyone would trust the people who are in charge. I attend a simple old-fashion church that may soon be litigated out of existence under the 14th Amendment thanks to the suave and sophisticated Justice Anthony Kennedy. I get told silly, old-fashioned things like ‘You can’t expect lost people to behave as if they’ve been saved.’ And I’ll take that cornpone sermon and extend it a bit without loss of generality. You can’t expect lost people to wind up either happier or safer than those who are saved. You see it in Iraq where the homosexuals get thrown from the rooftops and the straight women get herded to the rape camps. You see it in Greece where the cash and the groceries are dwindling while the empty Marxists tell empty lies.”
“And my fellow Americans, I’ll tell you where else you can see it. You can see it on Puerto Rico, this morning. And you can see it in California, Illinois, Alabama and probably 47 other states tomorrow. Don’t kid yourselves. We are in the existential battle for tomorrow. Keynesianism has failed. Enforced multi-cultural diversity is merely a Trojan Horse for a coming Reign of Terror that would make Robespierre blush with envy. Globalism is the gateway for you to train that H1B Visa replacement who will force you out of your IT position 6 months before your benefits vest.”
“If you aren’t seeing it, you aren’t thinking. If you aren’t thinking than Jesus better help you because I, and everyone else you will listen to in this Primary Season cannot. The time has come to man that barricade. The time has come for the zero-hour charge. The time has come to stand for what we stand for or fall for what they’ll be jamming right through our every orifice. You can stand on America’s fort or you can die in some dirty ditch. Are.You.With.Me?”
The man who states a better and more articulate version of this will win America. It’s right there in the gutter. Let’s hope a better and more moral man than Napoleon picks this particular crown up.

Interesting Reparations for Global Warming

Apparently carbon footprint taxes and wealth redistribution are not enough, we must adopt progressive social engineering of the planet

Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:

I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”  - Emma Lazarus

If you thought global warming scaremongering tactics went away with the most recent failed prediction for 2015 when we were supposed to be flooded and underwater, with little polar ice caps left, you would be mistaken.

Writing for the Washington Post, Michael B. Gerrard, a legal scholar at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, proposes that we should take in millions upon millions of refugees that will eventually be displaced by climate change. He said, “We ruined your country. Welcome to ours.” Playing on Emma Lazarus’ famous quote, he adds, “Give us your thirsty, your hot, your flooded masses.” Apparently carbon footprint taxes and wealth redistribution are not enough, we must adopt progressive social engineering of the planet.

If global warming average temperatures increase above 3.6 degrees, islands like Kiribati and the Marshalls and parts of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Egypt, and Vietnam will disappear underwater, flooded by melting glaciers in the Himalayas and the Andes. And if people don’t keep their voluntary and non-binding promises to cut CO2 (at the U.N. Climate summit in Paris in December 2015), “the thermometers could go much higher.” From Sierra Leone to Ethiopia, land will turn into desert. The heat will increase violence, ethnic and political tensions, Gerrard said.

Gerrard’s proposed solution is a pledge “to take on a share of the displaced population equal to how much each nation has historically contributed to emissions of the greenhouse gases that are causing this crisis.”

Dukes of Hazzard Star Slams TV Land For Pulling Reruns: ‘You’re Missing the Point’

PicMonkey Collage - John Schneider
The Dukes of Hazzard TV series was drawn into the great debate over the Confederate flag when Warner Brothers decided to stop licensing any products that showed the iconic flag-decalled car, the General Lee. When TV Land decided to stop showing reruns on its nostalgia block as well, former Hazzard star John Schneider (Bo Duke) blasted the decision, insisting that the show’s content was not based on racism.

The Dukes of Hazzard was and is no more a show seated in racism than Breaking Bad was a show seated in reality,” Schenider told The Hollywood Reporter. “Those who seek to malign the show because the famous car it featured had a Confederate flag painted on the roof are missing the point.”

Schneider’s statements echoed the opinions previously expressed by co-star Ben Jonessaying that the show’s use of the flag was to represent chivalry, rebelliousness, and other aspects of Southern culture. On the subject of Dylann Roof, the Charleston shooter who was inspired by the flag’s racist connotations, Schneider lamented how one person’s actions were able to cast the entire show into such a negative light.
“Are people who grew up watching the show now suddenly racists?” Schneider asked hypothetically. “Come on, TV Land, can’t we all just watch TV?”

American Workers Subsidizing Unions With Tax Dollars

In St. Charles, IL, a teacher is paid $141,105 not to teach. In Philadelphia, “ghost employees” who don’t do work for the state collect benefits from the state. In Kalamazoo, MI a former teacher is collecting a government pension of $85,903 a year even though he didn’t teach his last 14 years, but instead worked as a union employee.
Called “release time,” or “official time” at the federal level, it’s a practice that allows public employees to conduct union business during working hours without loss of pay. These activities include negotiating contracts, lobbying, processing grievances, and attending union meetings and conferences.
According to Trey Kovacs, a policy analyst at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, this racket has cost the federal government about $1 billion since 1998. Between 2008 and 2011, the fraud has increased from 2.9 million hours at a cost of $121 million to 3.4 million hours at a cost of $155 million.
School boards, which frequently consist of members bought and paid for by the teachers unions, are particularly guilty of this crime against the taxpayer. In CA, where the California Teachers Association wields great power, the situation is particularly egregious. Typically this scam is written into collective bargaining contracts and comes in different flavors. Sometimes the school district will pay for the cost of a sub if the teacher/union employee needs to do work for the union. In Los Angeles, page 6 of the teacher contract states that the United Teachers of Los Angeles “may request the release of designated employees from their regular duties with no loss of pay for the purpose of attending to UTLA matters, with the expense of the substitute or replacement to be borne by UTLA.”
Sounds fair, right? But it’s not.
The substitute invariably makes a lot less than the teacher/union employee and the taxpayer is sucking up the difference in pay. The teacher is also racking up pension time, (which is taxpayer-subsidized), while doing union work. And of course the students lose out by having frequent subs, who often are nothing more than placeholders.
In other districts, the union gets a completely free pass. Page 15 of Orange County’s Fountain Valley School District contract reads, “The Association (union) President or designee may utilize one (1) day per week for Association business. The District shall bear the cost of the substitutes.” So a classroom teacher of 15 years, who doubles as union president, makes an$89,731 yearly salary, or $485 a day. The taxpayer is also paying $100 a day for a sub which brings the total to $585 for one day of union business per week. Repeated over the 38 week teaching year, the taxpayer is on the hook for $22,230. And that amount does not include the thousands of dollars the employer (ultimately the taxpayer) has to pay for contributions to the teacher/union leader’s retirement fund, health benefits, unemployment insurance and workers compensation.
With over a thousand school districts in the state doing business like Los Angeles and Fountain Valley, we are talking about serious larceny.

JASON RILEY: The Supreme Court’s Disastrous Misreading of the Fair Housing Act

Wall Street Journal —A decision endorsing ‘disparate impact’ analysis will turn a law meant to prohibit discrimination into a vehicle for race-conscious housing decisions.
Last week, on the day before the Supreme Court blessed a legal doctrine that equates racial disparities with racial discrimination, the New York Times published an op-ed that illustrated the potential ramifications of the court’s wrongheaded ruling.
The op-ed, “Is Special Education Racist?,” was written by professors of education Paul Morgan and George Farkas. They argued that the overrepresentation of black children receiving special-education services was best explained by factors other than racial bias. Black children…

Seattle 6th Graders Can’t Get a Coke at School, But Can Get an IUD

(CNSNews.com) --  Middle and high school students can’t get a Coca-Cola or a candy bar at 13 Seattle public schools, but they can get a taxpayer-funded intrauterine device (IUD) implanted without their parents’ consent.
School-based health clinics in at least 13 Seattle-area public high schools and middle schools offer long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs), including IUDs and hormonal implants, to students in sixth-grade and above at no cost, according to Washington State officials.
LARCs are associated with serious side effects, such as uterine perforation and infection. IUDs, specifically, can also act as abortifacients by preventing the implantation of a fertilized egg.
The state and federally funded contraceptive services are made possible by Take Charge, a Washington State Medicaid program which provides free birth control to adults who are uninsured, lack contraceptive coverage, have an income at or below 260 percent of the Federal Poverty Level -- or, in this case, to teens who don’t want their parents to know they’re on birth control.
In an email exchange with the Washington State Health Care Authority and CNSNews.com, a Take Charge spokesperson acknowledged that underage students are eligible for a “full array of covered family planning services” at school-based clinics if their parents meet the program’s requirements.
Take Charge added that “a student who does not want their parents to know they are seeking reproductive health services is allowed to apply for Take Charge using their own income, and if they are insured under their parents’ plan, the insurance would not be billed.”

Baltimore: Blame Rises With Body Count in Baltimore

A demonstrator confronts police near Camden Yards during a protest against the death in police custody of Freddie Gray in Baltimore April 25, 2015. At least 2,000 people protesting the unexplained death of Gray, 25, while in police custody marched through downtown Baltimore on Saturday, pausing at one point to confront officers in front of Camden Yards, home of the Orioles baseball team. REUTERS/Sait Serkan Gurbuz - RTX1AA03Police say the riots after Freddie Gray’s death emboldened criminals. The mayor blames the police. Residents are fed up with it all.
It’s been two months since violent protests burned a path of destruction through some of Baltimore’s worst neighborhoods. While some sense of normalcy has returned to the streets, the legacy of Freddie Gray—whose death in police custody sparked the unrest—remains a defining feature of the landscape.
On walls and marquees across West Baltimore, Gray’s name shares space with signs calling for an end to the rash of violence that has plagued the city since May. A large mural depicting Gray’s likeness at the corner of Fulton & Presbury in his neighborhood of Sandtown-Winchester calls on police to “Stop Killing Us” while making a plea to the community for peace and love in 2015.
In June, all six Baltimore Police Department officers who were indicted in Gray’s death pleaded not guilty to multiple charges and were ordered by a judge to stand trial on October 13 for crimes ranging from second-degree murder to misconduct in office. A leaked autopsy report obtained this week by The Baltimore Sun shows that Gray died from a “high intensity” injury likely sustained as he was driven around unrestrained in the back of a police van.
In the areas hardest hit by the rioting, dozens of looted stores remain boarded up. Some may never reopen. When asked for their thoughts on what happened, many residents respond angrily, recounting how police stood by and watched their neighborhood burn.
Some black Baltimoreans who are old enough to remember the last time the city erupted into flames—in 1968 after the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.—say it’s time to turn those emotions toward reconciliation.

As Donald Trump surges in polls, Democrats cheer

For Democrats, Donald Trump amounts to a kind of divine intervention.
With the Republican Party on an urgent mission to woo Latino voters, one of its leading presidential candidates has been enmeshed for two weeks in anasty feud over his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants.
“They’re bringing drugs,” Trump said in his campaign announcement speech. “They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
The comments — and many more since — have prompted an uproar among Latino groups and a series of acrimonious break-ups between Trump and various corporate partners. His outlandish rhetoric and skill at occupying the national spotlight is also proving to be dangerously toxic for the GOP brand, which remains in the rehabilitation stage after losing the 2012 presidential race.
Univision said it would not air his Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants; Trump sued the Spanish-language television network for $500 million. NBC Universal severed all ties to him this week, including his “Apprentice” reality series; he called the network “so weak and so foolish.”
Trump: Immigrants bring 'drugs ... crime' to U.S. from Mexico
Real estate mogul Donald Trump said during his presidential announcement that Mexican migrants to the U.S. are drug traffickers and rapists, as well as "some ... good people." (AP)
And on Wednesday, the Macy’s department store chain dumped him, saying it would no longer sell his menswear line. Trump said the retail chain had “totally caved.”

East Tennessee hardware store puts up 'No Gays Allowed' sign

UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2015: A new sign has been posted at Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies in Grainger County.
The sign reads, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who would violate our rights of freedom of speech & freedom of religion."
The sign bears the signature of the store's owner Jeff Amyx.
We'll have more on this story later today on 10News and WBIR.com.
ORIGINAL STORY: (WBIR) An East Tennessee store owner is using what some call a controversial sign to express his beliefs following the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage.
Several WBIR 10News viewers brought this story to our attention on Facebook.
Jeff Amyx, who owns Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies in Grainger County, added the 'No Gays Allowed' sign because gay and lesbian couples are against his religion.
Amyx, who is also a baptist minister, said he realized Monday morning that homosexual people are not afraid to stand for what they believe in. He said it showed him that Christian people should be brave enough to stand for what they believe in.
"They gladly stand for what they believe in, why can't I? They believe their way is right, I believe it's wrong. But yet I'm going to take more persecution than them because I'm standing for what I believe in," Amyx said.
He said he has no plans to take the sign down.

Shapiro: Obama Millennials Want To Leave The America They Created

A new poll from TransferWise shows that 35 percent of those born in the United States would consider ditching their home country to live elsewhere; that number skyrockets among those aged 18-34, the so-called millennials, 55 percent of whom said they would think of taking off if given the chance.
Most of those millennials cite economics as a chief factor in their desire to leave: 43 percent of men and 38 percent of women said they’d leave if they could get paid more in another country.
The rationales for staying in America, articulated by Americans, are particularly weak: 59 percent say they would stay because “it is home,” another 58 percent say they would stay thanks to romantic and family ties – and then the stats drop precipitously, with just 22 percent stating they would stay for the democratic society, 17 percent for the culture, 10 percent for the good future for children, 5 percent for wealth, 3 percent for low crime, and 2 percent for low taxes.
