[VIDEO] Obama Leaves Out ‘God’ From 4th of July Weekly Address

obama 4th
As Obama’s term as President is slowly nearing its end, more and more of who the man is, and what he truly stands for, is beginning to seep out.
For instance, President Obama released his 4th of July weekly address for 2015 with one key ingredient missing: God.
Unlike his weekly addresses during the previous two years, where the President concluded his speeches with “God Bless You All” (2014) and “So, God bless You All. And may God bless The United States of America” (2013), Obama left out any mention of God in his recent address. Instead, this year, he chose to end his speech with a very politically correct, “Thanks, everybody. From my family to yours, have a safe and happy Fourth of July.”
Here’s the transcript:
“Remarks of President Barack Obama
Weekly Address
The White House
July 4, 2015

Happy Fourth of July, everybody. Like many of you, Michelle, Sasha, Malia, and I are going to spend the day outdoors, grilling burgers and dogs, and watching the fireworks with our family and friends. It’s also Malia’s birthday, which always makes the Fourth extra fun for us.
As always, we’ve invited some very special guests to our backyard barbecue – several hundred members of our military and their families. On this most American of holidays, we remember that all who serve here at home and overseas, represent what today is all about. And we remember that their families serve, too. We are so grateful for their service and for their sacrifice.
We remember as well that this is the day when, 239 years ago, our founding patriots declared our independence, proclaiming that all of us are created equal, endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights including the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
A couple of centuries later, we have made ourselves into a big, bold, dynamic, and diverse country. We are of all races, we come from all places, we practice all faiths, and believe in all sorts of different ideas. But our allegiance to this declaration – this idea – is the creed that binds us together. It’s what, out of many, makes us one.
And it’s been the work of each successive generation to keep this founding creed safe by making sure its words apply to every single American. Folks have fought, marched, protested, even died for that endeavor, proving that as Americans, our destiny is not written for us, but by us.
We honor those heroes today. We honor everyone who continually strives to make this country a better, stronger, more inclusive, and more hopeful place. We, the people, pledge to make their task our own – to secure the promise of our founding words for our own children, and our children’s children.
And finally, what better weekend than this to cheer on Team USA – good luck to the U.S. Women’s National Team in the World Cup Final!
Thanks, everybody. From my family to yours, have a safe and happy Fourth of July.”

[EDITORIAL] God, a cop and gay marriage

Facebook

He just had to get it off his chest. In a Facebook post, an Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputy wrote: “If it ever comes down to having to enforce any kind of laws regarding gay marriage … mark my words … I will not do it!”

He added: “I will not adjust to man’s standard over what the word of God says.”

Unfortunately for this irate deputy, the oath he took and the gun and badge he carries are all about “man’s standard.” And Sheriff’s Office policy says employees can express themselves on social media only as long as “their speech does not impair the working relationships of this agency.”

A law enforcer declaring he won’t enforce certain laws might indeed impair working relationships. So Sheriff Larry Ashley had the deputy take down his offending post.

That was the easy part. It’s a little tougher to square last week’s Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage with — as the deputy put it — “what the word of God says.”

We would suggest there is no need for conflict.

People of faith can still oppose gay lifestyles and the idea of gay marriage if they’re inclined to do so.

Churches are still free to decide whether or not to bless such relationships.

We are comfortable with the Supreme Court’s decision because it enlarges Americans’ sphere of personal liberty. This newspaper has long maintained that government should have little or no role in defining or regulating so intimate a relationship as marriage.

Chief Justice John Roberts, who voted last week with the minority, said the court ought to back off because “whether same-sex marriage is a good idea should be of no concern to us.” Bravo!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sounded like she was pushing for “re-education camps”

(CNSNews.com) – Gov. Bobby Jindal (R.-La.) told Fox News on Sunday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sounded like she was pushing for “re-education camps” when she said "deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed" on abortion.

"The reality is first of all you listen to her language: ‘our religious beliefs need to be changed.’ It sounds like reeducation camps. She didn't say specifically how she wants us to change our beliefs. My religious beliefs aren't between me and Hillary Clinton. They're between me and God," Jindal said.

Jindal was asked what he thought about Clinton saying religious beliefs will have to be changed in terms of abortion.
Speaking at the "Women in the World" Summit last month, Clinton said women won't have full access to "reproductive health care" until "deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases" are changed.
"Yes we've cut the maternal mortality rate in half but far too many women are denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. All the laws we've passed don't count for much if they're not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice, not just on paper. Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will, and deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed," Clinton said.
Jindal also criticized Clinton and the left for how they construe freedom of religion.

First lady rallies on Obamacare: 'There but for the grace of God go I'

Photo -
The president has dispatched first lady Michelle Obama to rally Democrats around his beleaguered Obamacare which she has boiled down to one religious phrase: “There but for the grade of God go I.”
At a New York City fundraiser for Senate Democrats Monday, the first lady opened with a long defense of Obamacare, suggesting her audience lives by the principle that everyone should have insurance.
We don’t believe in handouts. We don’t think anyone should get a free ride,” she said Monday afternoon in a speech at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers.
“But we also understand one simple principle — that there but for the grace of God go I; that in the blink of an eye, any of us — any of us — could be faced with a terrible diagnosis. Any of us could be injured in a horrible accident. Any of us could lose the job we count on to support our family — any of us,” she said.
“And when that happens, it shouldn’t mean falling off a cliff. It shouldn’t mean having to go without food, or medicine, or a roof over our heads — not here in the United States of America. Not in the greatest country on the planet. That is not who we are,” Obama added.
She conceded that political fights over the years, including over Obamacare, haven’t been a cakewalk. “I know it hasn’t always been easy. I know that there have been plenty of ups and downs over these years,” she said.
But, she added, the fight to keep Obamacare is something Democrats should join, not quit as it is besieged with problems. “What happened last month reminded us that the folks that we send to Washington make decisions about some very important issues — issues that affect our lives every single day. Will we be able to see a doctor when we’re sick? Will our businesses have what they need to create good jobs? Will our kids have what they need to learn and grow — things like decent nutrition, safe streets, good schools?”

[VIDEO] President Obama Leaves Out An Important Word In His Reading Of The Gettysburg Address - God

WASHINGTON -- One nation under God?  Under President Obama, maybe not so much.

In advance of the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, which President Abraham Lincoln delivered on November 19, 1863, filmmaker Ken Burns gathered every living President, along with several prominent members of Congress, celebrities and news media stars to deliver the address themselves.  Burns edited the individual speeches into one final mashup that is available on the site, but he also provided the complete speech as delivered by each individual dignitary.

Curiously enough, in his version of the speech, President Barack Obama's delivery contained an omission - in a line that every other celebrity delivered as "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom" (click here for proof of that), the President left out the words "under God."
You can see the President's reading of the Gettysburg speech here -  his omission is at the 1:35 mark.

You can watch all of the speeches at learntheaddress.org.

Huffington Post Opines: God Wants Socialism, Not Shutdowns

Over at The Huffington Post, socialist activist Jim Wallis is typically insisting that the Bible’s verses on the poor all underline that socialism is God’s demand in the current shutdown. We're not individually responsible for the poor, we must be collectively, bureaucratically responsible.
“We're hearing lots of babble at the Capitol, but across the street, we're trying to hear the word of God -- what God says about the people, families, and children who will suffer the most because of Washington's babble,” he wrote. Don’t they know God wanted a statist “War on Poverty”?
These words aren't just directed to churches and charities about what we should do with the poor. They're about the obligations of kings, rulers, and government to protect the poor...
We plan to give out copies of The Poverty and Justice Bible, which has all 2,000 verses about the poor highlighted in orange, to each Member of Congress and their staff during the shutdown. We want the politicians who assault each other and the nation with their words every day to hear what we Christians call the Word of God, just across the street from their verbal battles...
We're going to keep sharing God's message of good news for the poor to help our elected officials rediscover the vision of the "common good." We invite you to come down and support the Faithful Filibuster. And if you can't join us in person, tweet one of the 2,000 Bible verses on poverty with the hashtag #FaithfulFilibuster. Let's remind the politicians and pundits whose babble has dominated, that it is only the Word of God that endures forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
The HuffPost also included a link to his new book “On God's Side: What Religion Forgets and Politics Hasn't Learned about Serving the Common Good.” It quotes from Lincoln saying, "My concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side."'
Liberals love to use this against the Christian right. This utterly misses that Lincoln might not have been thinking of Gary Bauer.

STARNES: School Tells Child She Can’t Write About God

featured-img

A Tennessee mom is looking for answers after her daughter’s teacher refused to let the child write about God for a school assignment.

Erin Shead, a 10-year-old student at Lucy Elementary School in Millington, was assigned to write about someone she idolized. The girl, who is a Christian, decided to write about God.

“I look up to God,” she wrote. “I love him and Jesus, and Jesus is His earthly son. I also love Jesus.”
The youngster also said that God would “always be the #1 person I look up to.”

“It was so cute and innocent,” Erica Shead told television station WREG. “She talked about how God created the Earth.”

But Shead said her daughter’s teacher objected to the choice and told her she could not use God as an idol for the assignment.

Erin told her mom that it had something to do with religion  - that God could not be her idol. The teacher then allegedly told the child that she had to take the paper about God home – because it could not remain on school property.

“How can you tell this baby – that’s a Christian – what she can say and what she can’t say?” Shead asked.
The teacher approved of Erin’s second choice — Michael Jackson.

Shead told WREG she met with the principal and still has questions about what happened.

Debbie Whatshername Schultz Declares There is a God…….

It was mass confusion at the Democrat National Convention this week as the Democrats struggled over the troubling issue as to whether they should recognize God in their platform.

After several voice votes—the outcome of which was anything but clear—the chairman slammed down his gavel and declared that the ayes have it and that, remarkably, God would be—if reluctantly—included in the party’s platform. And Hugh Betcha, Ace Reporter for Stoos Views International Media Conglomerate and Head of the Stoos Views Political Bureau—winner of the CNN Reporter of the Decade Award—was there.

Spotting Debbie Whatshername Schultz, Chairwoman of the National Democrat Party, Hugh thrust a microphone into her face and asked a question that was on the minds of many.

“Why the confusion over one little word? What was the problem with simply acknowledging a divine presence in the universe?” asked Hugh.

“Well, as a politically correct, secular humanist, socialist party who believes in the supremacy of Mankind, it is a little uncomfortable acknowledging there is a ‘God’ so to speak,” said Schultz. “Makes us sound like a bunch of religious zealots, you know.”

“What tipped the scale in favor of mentioning God?” Hugh inquired.
“Well, we decided we were mistaken. There is indeed a God after all,” replied the Chairwoman. “He is speaking to the convention tonight.”

Democrats Proudly Declare We All Belong to the Government. Ditch God From Their Platform.

In a statement right out of a communist state, the Democrats started their convention with a bit of propaganda declaring we all belong to the government. Seriously. They started their convention with this video:
This is unreal. The founders must be rolling over in their grave. The constitution starts with “We the People,” not we the government. The government belongs to us, we do not belong to the government. The government is our servant. We do not serve government. We are Americans. We are not all wards or property of the state, despite Barack Obama’s best efforts.
I think we can say the Democrats are fulling embracing Barack Obama’s claim that “you didn’t build that.” It’s clear from this we did not take Barack Obama out of context. The Democrats really do believe government built it all.
This is what the Soviets did in their propaganda. They portrayed the people in service to the state. The collective overrode the individuals. The Democrats are finally embracing their inner marxists. Consistent with this, they’ve ditched God from their platform. Religion is, after all, the opiate of the people and is unnecessary when we are all collectively creatures of the state.
By the way, you’ve now heard the Democrats’ audio that “we all belong to the government.” I’ll see you that and raise you Clint Eastwood. Listen to what he had to say on this topic and tell me who is more in touch with America?
