OVER 11K ATTEND THE FUNERAL OF MURDERED TEXAS DEPUTY

HOUSTON, Texas — The funeral service for Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth was held 11 AM, Friday, September 4, 2015 at the 2nd Baptist Church on Woodway.
On August 28th, while in uniform, Deputy Goforth was putting gasoline in his Harris County Sheriff’s patrol car when he was shot at point blank range 15 times.
The first things you notice upon arriving at the church were the many trees with blue ribbons. There was a police helicopter high above the church. All parking lot area national flags were at half-staff. There were about 20 TV trucks in the parking lot. The funeral was a national event. It was truly a celebration of this man’s life.

Inside there was a full church. Deputy Goforth’s casket was in front of the church with a large American flag. There were 11,000 peace officers and supporters from coast to coast. 2nd Baptist Church has glorious stain glass windows. The main room seats 5,000 and the adjoining halls seat several thousand additional people. Many peace officers brought their family members.

The ceremony began with large screen photos of a loving Darren Goforth family. There were pictures of his wife Kathleen, his son Ryan and daughter Ava.
Since ancient Greek times the most noble act is to give your life in service of one’s county. Deputy Goforth gave his life in service of our community.

Members of the local Sheriff and police departments began by noting the community outpouring of support. Darren’s children now have 4,000 surrogate parents, said the Sheriff’s Office chaplain. They have lost their father. The officers delivering the eulogy explained how Darren was well liked, hardworking, and effective. He loved humor and he was a genuine person.
Then Dr. Ed Young of 2nd Baptist delivered the Message. He began with a reading from Exodus. The passaged noted priests in ancient Israel wore blue as a symbol of authority. Dr. Young looked out and pointed to the sea of blue in the audience. Then he referred to the Lord’s Prayer when we asked “to be delivered from evil.” “Deliver” is an interesting world since it means to protect and save, he explained.
There is no definition of “evil” in Webster’s the pastor said. Dr. Young’s definition of evil is “anything that conflicts with the purpose of God.”
“The good news is that evil cannot win!!” he promised. He continued, explaining that peace officers’ job description is to deliver us from evil. What is horrendous is now evil is attacking the blue uniform in the death of Deputy Goforth. Now is time for healing, not revenge. Go out and service, protect, and deliver us from evil.
Harris County Sheriff's Honor Guard fires a 21-gun salute.

We then went outside. Dismissal with a rifle salute and departure of the funeral cortege. When the ceremony ended dark clouds arrived and there was a light rain after the ceremony.

Man suspected of killing Texas county sheriff's deputy reportedly arrested

The man suspected of a killing a Texas county sheriff’s deputy has reportedly been arrested at the end of a successful SWAT scene.
Fox affiliate KRIV reports Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies captured the suspect in the murder of Deputy Darren Goforth early Saturday. The man was taken into custody at Pine Falls and Sunny Ridge in northwest Harris County, according to the station.
The suspect’s mother assisted law enforcement officers in the capture of her son, KRIV reports.
Goforth, 47, was pumping gas into his patrol car at a suburban Houston gas station when a man approached him from behind and fired multiple shots, Harris County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ryan Sullivan told The Associated Press.
Police had described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts driving a red or maroon pickup truck with an extended bed. Police posted pictures of the suspect from a security camera on Twitter.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilliland said Goforth had traveled to the Chevron station where the shooting happened, after responding to a routine car accident.
“He was pumping into his vehicle, and the male suspect came up behind him and shot the deputy multiple times,” Gilliland told the Houston Chronicle. “The deputy fell to the ground, the suspect came over and shot the deputy again multiple times as he lay on the ground.”
KRIV reported Goforth was shot once in the head and three times in the back.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police Department were also involved in the search for the suspect.
This is a very tough moment right now for the Harris County Sheriffs Office," Gilliland said. "Keep us in your prayers and in your thoughts."
"Bob Goerlitz, president of the Harris County Deputies Organization, said the incident was "shocking."
“We've been warned of things like this, because of public sentiment nationally and events over the last few years ... It's just horrific. That's the only way to describe it."

[VIDEO] DEPUTY FATALLY SHOT FROM BEHIND AT HOUSTON GAS STATION

HOUSTON (AP) -- A sheriff's deputy in uniform was shot and killed Friday night while filling up his patrol car at a suburban Houston gas station, according to authorities.

Deputy Darren Goforth, 47, was pumping gas into his vehicle about 8:30 p.m. Friday when a man approached him from behind and fired multiple shots, Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ryan Sullivan told The Associated Press. Once the deputy fell to the ground, the suspect fired more shots.

Police described the suspect as a dark-complexioned male who is believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, and stands about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts and driving a red or maroon pickup-style truck with an extended cab. Police said an intensive search for the suspect remained ongoing Saturday morning.

No motive was determined for the shooting. Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman said Goforth, who was a 10-year veteran of the force, had a wife and two children.

"In my 45 years in law enforcement, I can't recall another incident so cold-blooded and cowardly," Hickman said.

Sheriff's office spokesman Deputy Thomas Gilliland said Goforth had traveled to the Chevron station where the shooting happened, after earlier responding to a routine car accident.

"He was pumping gas into his vehicle. and the male suspect came up behind him and shot the deputy multiple times," Gilliland told the Houston Chronicle. "The deputy fell to ground. the suspect came over and shot the deputy again multiple times as he lay on the ground."

He said Goforth died at the scene. Detectives were checking security camera video for possible clues.
"We are actively searching for suspect right now," Gilliland said. "I can tell you with diligence and justice the suspect will be caught. And he will be brought to justice ... This is a very callous individual."

Gruesome: Fifth Video Of Planned Parenthood Video Released, Offers To Sell “Intact Fetuses”…

StemExpress Gets “Fully Intact” Babies

HOUSTON, Aug. 4–The fifth undercover video in the controversy over Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts shows the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, advertising the Texas Planned Parenthood branch’s track record of fetal tissue sales, including its ability to deliver fully intact fetuses.
In the video, actors posing as representatives from a human biologics company meet with Farrell at the abortion-clinic headquarters of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Houston to discuss a potential partnership to harvest fetal organs.
“Where we probably have an edge over other organizations, our organization has been doing research for many many years,” explains Farrell. When researchers need a specific part from the aborted fetus, Farrell says, “We bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this, so we deviate from our standard in order to do that.”
Asked specifically if this means Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast can change abortion procedures to supply intact fetal specimens, Farrell affirms, “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.”
The investigators ask Farrell how she will frame a contract in which they pay a higher price for higher quality fetal body parts, and she replies, “We can work it out in the context of–obviously, the procedure itself is more complicated,” suggesting that “without having you cover the procedural cost” and paying for the abortion, the higher specimen price could be framed as “additional time, cost, administrative burden.”
Farrell finally summarizes her affiliate’s approach to fetal tissue payments: “If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. It’s all just a matter of line items.”
The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2). Federal law also requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).

‘Go Sue Your Own People': Kasich Rips Hillary’s Ohio Voting Laws Lawsuit, Cites Hypocrisy

Ohio Gov. John Kasich accused former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of engaging in “demagoguery” one day after she delivered a speech on voting rights, citing her hypocrisy on the issue and her opposition to Ohio’s voting laws.
In a Friday interview with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer, Kasich blasted Clinton, saying that rather than worrying about Ohio’s laws, which has 27 days of early voting, she should worry about her own state of New York, where early voting just isn’t a thing.
In her Thursday speech in Houston, Clinton accused Republicans of “systematically and deliberately trying to stop millions of American citizens from voting.”
“First of all, I think it’s demagoguery. And secondly, if she wants to sue somebody, let her sue New York,” Kasich said. “In Ohio, we have like 27 days of early voting. OK, 27 days, a couple hundred hours. In New York, the only early voting — there is none. The only voting that occurs is on Election Day? What is she talking about?”
“I like Hillary, but I gotta tell you — the idea that we are going to divide Americans and we’re going to use demagoguery, I don’t like it,” Kasich said. “Now, I haven’t said a word about Hillary, but to come into the state of Ohio and say we are repressing the vote when New York has only Election Day and we have 27 days, what’s she — come on! That’s just silliness. I’m disappointed in her, frankly.”
Clinton’s campaign lawyer is part of an ongoing lawsuit going after voting laws in both Ohio and Wisconsin, though the campaign is not technically part of the suit.
“Don’t be coming in and saying we are trying to keep people from voting when her own state has less opportunity for voting than my state — and she is going to sue my state? I mean, come on, that’s just silly, that’s not an attack, that’s just silly,” Kasich said.

Educator slammed after telling students they dress like ‘hoes’

An education official at a Texas high school is under fire after telling some female students they have been dressing like ‘hoes.’
According to KRIV Fox 26, School Support Officer Dr. Tameca Richardson made the remark to female students at Jack Yates High School in Houston during an assembly on campus.
A spokesperson for the Houston Independent School District confirmed the language used by Richardson, the station reported.
Some parents expressed anger over Richardson’s terminology, saying the Ph.D.-level educator should have used language that was less offensive.
"That was out of line and she should be disciplined for that," Cynthia King, mother of a Yates student, told Fox 26.
"You don't know what kind of home half of these girls are coming from or any of these kids are coming from for you to make a statement like that. You don't know their living condition and you don't know their parents financial state. That may be the only thing they have to wear. It's inconsiderate," added King.

From BFD To MIA: Joe Biden hides from Obamacare crisis

U.S. President Obama and Vice President Biden attend a rally celebrating passage of the health insurance reform bill in WashingtonThe president is facing his worst crisis of his five-year tenure. So where is the first mate of the Obama administration, good ol’ Joe Biden?
The vice president is in Houston, Texas, and he’s flying to Panama Nov. 20., far away from the crisis, from the president and from media questions about Obamacare.
He was home in Delaware on Nov. 17 after spending the previous three days in a New York, North Carolina and Georgia. On Nov. 13, he joined President Barack Obama for a closed-door White House meeting with advocates of greater immigration.
He met with military commanders on Nov. 12, spent the weekend of Nov. 11 and 10 at home in Delaware, and met with veterans Nov. 9. He stumped for Terry McAuliffe Nov. 4, in Virginia’s gubernatorial race, warning voters that the GOP candidate was “extreme.”
He’s running for president in 2016, but running away from Obamacare in 2014.
The crisis is so bad that on Nov. 14, President Barack Obama defended himself by denying that he was stupid.
“I’m accused of a lot of things, but I don’t think I’m stupid enough to go around saying, this is going to be like shopping on Amazon or Travelocity a week before the website opens if I thought that it wasn’t going to work,” told a roomful of TV cameras and reporters.
That’s a real political crisis. But that day, Biden was 600 miles from Obama’s podium.

Americans Keep Moving to States With Low Taxes and Housing Costs

Where are Americans moving, and why? Timothy Noah, writing in the Washington Monthly, professes to be puzzled. He points out that people have been moving out of states with high per capita incomes -- Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland -- to states with lower income levels.
"Why are Americans by and large moving away from economic opportunity rather than toward it?" he asks.
Actually, it's not puzzling at all. The movement from high-tax, high-housing-cost states to low-tax, low-housing-cost states has been going on for more than 40 years, as I note in my new book Shaping Our Nation: How Surges of Migration Transformed America and Its Politics.
Between 1970 and 2010, the population of New York state increased from 18 million to 19 million. In that same period, the population of Texas increased from 11 million to 25 million.
The picture is even starker if you look at major metro areas. The New York metropolitan area, including counties in New Jersey and Connecticut, increased from 17.8 million in 1970 to 19.2 million in 2010 -- up 8 percent. During that time, the nation grew 52 percent.
In the same period, the four big metro areas in Texas -- Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin -- grew from 6 million to 15.6 million, a 160 percent increase.
Contrary to Noah's inference, people don't move away from opportunity. They move partly in response to economic incentives, but also to pursue dreams and escape nightmares.
Opportunity does exist in the Northeastern states and in California -- for people with very high skill levels and for low-skill immigrants, without whom those metro areas would have lost, rather than gained, population over the last three decades.
But there's not much opportunity there for people with midlevel skills who want to raise families. Housing costs are exceedingly high, partly, as Noah notes, because of restrictive land use and zoning regulations.
And central city public schools, with a few exceptions, repel most middle-class parents.
High taxes produce revenues to finance handsome benefits and pensions for public employee union members in the high-cost states. It's hard to see how this benefits middle-class people making their livings in the private sector.
