Another Hate Crimes Report Contradicts Islamist Claims

Hate crimes in the United States decreased in 2012, data released Monday by the FBI shows.
The annual report, compiled through voluntary reporting from law enforcement agencies, further shows that crimes targeting Muslims remains flat and relatively uncommon. This contradicts claims by Islamist groups that hate crimes against Muslims are spiking, fueled in part by what the groups call an organized effort by groups pushing "Islamophobia."
There were 5,796 reported incidents involving hate crimes during 2012, the report shows. Of those, nearly half involved racial animus. More than 1,800 reported incidents targeted black people – by far the largest group attacked.
In bias crimes involving religion, Jews were targeted in 674 incidents – 62 percent of all religiously-motivated crimes. That's five times more than Muslim Americans, who were targeted in 130 incidents – or fewer than 12 percent of all religiously-motivated crimes. Estimates vary, but there are roughly twice as many Jews in the United States as Muslims.
Anti-Muslim crimes represented 13.3 percent of the religious attacks in 2011.
The number of incidents dropped for each group.
Occasionally, incidents originally touted as hate crimes turn out to be something quite different. In April 2012, a Muslim woman was bludgeoned to death in her home near San Diego. A note found near her body made it seem she was attacked because she was a Muslim woman who wore a hijab. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a statement saying the attack showed "the dangers of allowing hateful rhetoric and bigotry to go unpunished, and the fatal consequences that can result."

[VIDEO] Obamacare Event Hands Out Condoms as Prizes

An Obamacare event in Arkansas offered a prize for those who attended: Free condoms.
The Obamacare event took place at the University of Central Arkansas last weekend. It was hosted by a group called the Living Affected Corporation, which apparently has received a grant from the federal government to educate the public about Obamacare.
The event organizer spilled out a bag of condoms -- as a couple whoops and hollers could be heard from the small crowd.
Then she says, "Ok, if anyone wants a paper application," but she interrupts herself to pickup condoms that had fallen on the floor. "I have those as well."
"So when you're leaving, you can stop by my table and I'll give you whatever -- condoms -- that box has a bunch in it. Anyway ... Our corporation, LA Corp ... And I'm waiting on my dental dams and female condom order that still hasn't come in. If you ever need condoms, let me know because we have thousands -- boxes of magnums, we get magnums a lot. So here is the prize table."
The condom give-away was a training event with young Democrats, I'm told.

PAT QUINN MAY BE UNPOPULAR BECAUSE HE RAISED TAXES 67 PERCENT AFTER PROMISING THAT HE WOULDN’T

During Pat Quinn’s 2010 Reelection Race, His Budget Director Told Bloomberg NewsThat They Would Probably Increase Illinois’ Income Tax From 3 Percent To 5 Percent In January 2011, A 67% Increase. “Illinois, which is in its worst financial position ever, will raise the income-tax rate in January to address its deficit, Governor Pat Quinn’s budget director said. Lawmakers will likely increase the personal tax to 5 percent from 3 percent, generating $6 billion of new revenue, the budget director, David Vaught, said in an interview. The legislature failed to address the deficit this year because of the pending November election, he said.” (Darrell Preston, “Illinois Will Probably Raise Income-Tax Rate To 5%, Budget Director Says,” Bloomberg News, 7/28/10)
Quinn Quickly Denied That He Supported The 67% Tax Increase, And Vowed That He Would Veto Any Attempt To Raise The State’s Income Tax Rate Above 4%. “At a July 29 news conference, Quinn denied a published report claiming he planned to raise the state’s income tax by 2 percentage points. A 1 percent increase, Quinn said then, ‘is all that I propose and all that I support,’ an audibly irritated Quinn said. ‘I’m going to veto anything that’s not my plan.’” (Mike Riopell and Kerry Lester, Quinn Reneges On Vow To Veto 5% Tax,” Chicago Daily Herald, 1/12/11)

Let’s Give Thanks for Hobby Lobby by Michelle Malkin

Religious liberty is front and center on the nation’s Thanksgiving table. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores Inc.The family-owned craft-store company is intrepidly challenging the constitutionality of Obamacare’s abortion-coverage mandate. Hobby Lobby’s faithful owners deserve our thanks and praise as they defend freedom of conscience for all Americans.

The privately held retail chain’s story is the quintessential American dream. Founder David Green started out making mini picture frames in his Oklahoma garage in 1970. He recruited his two sons, Mart and Steve, to pitch in at an early age. The family’s first establishment took up a tiny 300 square feet of retail space. Hobby Lobby now runs nearly 600 stores across the country, employs 13,000 people, and topped $2 billion in sales in 2009.

The Greens’ Christian faith is at the heart of how they do business. They are dedicated to integrity and service for their customers and their employees. The debt-free company commits to “honoring the Lord in all we do by operating the company in a manner consistent with Biblical principles,” as well as “serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals and nurture families.”

CNN and MSNBC Lose Almost Half Their Viewers in One Year

It's been a tough year for the liberal cable news outlets.
Data released Tuesday show CNN shedding 48 percent of total viewers since last November and MSNBC dropping 45 percent.
The numbers were even worse in the all important demographic of people aged 25 to 54 as CNN's ratings dropped 59 percent and MSNBC's 52 percent.
In an off-election year, and with last November's numbers skewed higher as a result of the presidential election, it should be expected for ratings to decline.
However, Fox News didn't see close to these losses. In total day, FNC is only down 18 percent since last November and 30 percent in the demo.
As you might imagine, prime time numbers were also down.
CNN was off 54 percent in total viewers and 62 percent in the demo. MSNBC declined 50 percent in total prime time viewers and 57 percent in the demo.
By contrast, FNC was second in all of cable in prime time this November averaging over 2 million viewers. This represented a decline of 21 percent in total viewers and 41 percent in the demo.
As such, no matter how you slice it, the liberal cable networks fared much worse in the past twelve months than their far more centrist competitor.

Rothman: The Spectacular Collapse of Obamacare’s Holiday Propaganda Blitz

The Affordable Care Act’s Hindenburg-like debut has been characterized a series of spectacular failures, the latest being an attempt by PresidentBarack Obama’s political arm, Organizing for America, to furnish their followers with effective pro-ACA talking points. This army of true believers was instructed to bombard their unsuspecting kin with counterpoints to deflect the unceasing stream of bad ACA news screaming at them from the television set.
It was a noble effort, albeit one that was mocked furiously on the right. But it wasn’t conservatives that scuttled this operation. It was the mortifying inability of the ACA’s infrastructure to back up any of the claims ACA supporters were preparing to make.
When OFA sent an email to their followers with a number of pro-ACA talking points, the law’s supporters in the media took their cue. The most comprehensive expansion on the theme of how best to arm ACA supporters with information that would allow them to “win” arguments with their relatives about the ACA came from the Huffington Post.
“Here at HuffPost we believe in news you can use,” wrote reporters Shadee Ashtari and Ryan Grim. “Because what good is having a political opinion if you can’t prove it’s the right one in front of your extended family on Thanksgiving?”
They proceeded to detail how stalwart liberals can dodge their anti-Obamacare relative’s “I-told-ya-so” jabs and counter with a variety of salient counterpoints like “corporate greed” and “you prefer corporate monopolies?”
Huffpost was joined by other left-leaning media outlets who anticipated a nationwide holiday Gotterdammerung that would finally settle the legitimacy of the ACA. But these wide-eyed health care reform advocates would be undone, not by their own efforts, but by that which they had no control over – the abject failure of the federal insurance exchange site to function.
First, the news broke that HealthCAre.Gov holiday call center operators would not be working on Thanksgiving. Combined with the website’s inoperability, this put a damper on OFA’s suggestion to supporters that hey walk their relatives through the signup process while they were too inebriated to fully appreciate the consequences of their actions.

Politifact Fact Checks Obama Heckler’s ‘Mostly False’ Rant

On Monday, President Barack Obama’s speech before a crowd of supporters in San Francisco was interrupted when a heckler erupted with demandsthat the president halt deportations of illegal immigrants via executive order. Politifact took on the heckler’s claims on Tuesday with a thorough audit of his statements
“You have a power to stop deportation for all undocumented immigrants in this country,” declared the heckler who has since been identified as 24-year-old Ju Hong of South Korea.
“Actually, I don’t,” Obama replied. “And that’s why we’re here.”
“In the heckler’s case, he appears to be talking about Obama issuing an executive order to stop deportations,” Politifact noted. “But experts said action like that would likely violate the separation of powers.”
The fact-checking institution quoted experts who contend that executive orders cannot be so broad as to be able to protect all illegal immigrants from deportation. However, there are ways in which Obama could forestall deportations for some or halt those for certain illegal immigrants.
If he wanted to order a stay of deportations across the board, he would have to provide a strong justification, such as a lack of resources to do the job, said Robert Delahunty, a University of St. Thomas School of Law professor who co-authored an argument against the constitutionality of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. “But he could do that only briefly, and only in what I’d consider pretty extreme circumstances,” Delahunty said.
They concede, however, that the president is unlikely to take this step. “We rate this claim Mostly False,” Politifact declared.

Poll: Obama Job Satisfaction Hits New Rock Bottom

Image: Poll: Obama Job Satisfaction Hits New Rock Bottom
President Barack Obama's job-approval rating has hit a new rock bottom — in a state that is vital in national elections.

Quinnipiac University's poll in bellwether Ohio gives him the lowest rating the university's polling institute has ever found.

According to the survey released Wednesday, Obama is underwater by 27 points in Ohio, which has picked the president in every election since 1964 and has been within 2 percent of the national vote since 1996.

He has a negative job-performance rating of 34 percent to 61 percent among registered voters, 10 points worse than the last time Quinnipiac asked the same question in June. Then, his rating was 36 percent to 59 percent.

His previous-worst polling was last week in Colorado, with a negative 36 percent to 59 percent.

"Clearly much of the reason for the president's decline in Ohio is 'Obamacare,' said Peter Brown, assistant director of Quinnipiac's Polling Institute. "Ohio voters oppose the Affordable Care Act 59-35 percent. Perhaps more significantly, voters say 45-16 percent they expect their own healthcare to be worse rather than better a year from now."

This new low is telling, as Quinnipiac generally does not poll in dyed-in-the-wool red states. Instead it concentrates its surveys in nine blue and swing states — Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The figures look even worse for Obama when broken down.

Among Republican voters, just 3 percent say they are happy with his job performance, with 96 percent dissatisfied. Independents also give him a massive thumbs down, 30 percent to 64 percent. Democrats approve of Obama 69 percent to 25 percent.

When it comes to the president's honesty and trustworthiness, 57 percent to 39 percent of Ohioans do not believe or trust Obama.

Poll: 59% Oppose Obamacare Insurance Mandate for Abortion, Sterilization

(CNSNews.com) – A new poll commissioned by the Family Research Council and the Alliance Defending Freedom shows that three out of five or 59 percent of likely voters oppose requiring insurance plans to cover FDA approved contraceptives, including those drugs that can destroy a human embryo and sterilization.
Abortion Restrictions ClinicsFRC President Tony Perkins issued the following statement regarding the survey and the Supreme Court's decision Tuesday to accept the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood cases and decide the fate of Obamacare's HHS mandate.
"Americans should not be forced to violate their religious beliefs to purchase health insurance, hold a job, or operate a business in their country,” Perkin said. “Freedom of religion, the American people believe, extends to the freedom to practice your religion in your healthcare plan, as outlined by the First Amendment of the Constitution and illustrated in these poll results.
"The American people are turning their backs not only on this oppressive health care law but also on the law's mandate that for the first time in American history requires individuals to violate their moral beliefs and require them to pay for items and services they oppose in their health care plans,” Perkins aid.

Exclusive: A look at the ATM for the country’s most conservative groups

You may not have heard of the Center to Protect Patient Rights, but the organization doled out millions to some of the country’s most active conservative groups in 2012, according to new tax documents provided to The Daily Caller.
Exclusive: A look at the ATM for the country’s most conservative groupsTax forms indicate that the Arizona-based group — one of the largest nonprofit conservative grant makers of its kind — spent almost $137 million on its activities in 2012. Most of that money went to grants to nearly 50 conservative organizations, many of which are dedicated to getting rid of President Barack Obama’s unpopular health-care law.
Among the groups that received the most money from the Center to Protect Patient Rights in 2012:
— American Future Fund – $49.2 million
— Americans for Responsible Leadership – $24.7 million
— Americans for Prosperity – $11.5 million
— American Commitment – $4.8 million
— Citizen Link – $4.2 million
— National Rifle Association for Legislative Action – $3.2 million
— 60 Plus Association – $2.6 million
— Americans for Limited Government – $1.6 million
— Citizens Awareness Project – $1 million
Other conservative groups that received grants: Americans for Tax Reform ($350,000); Americans United for Life Action ($65,000); Club for Growth ($450,000); Concerned Women for America ($173,573); Emergency Committee for Israel ($200,000); Hispanic Leadership Fund ($645,000); Susan B. Anthony List ($385,000); Heritage Action Fund ($8,000); Generation Opportunity ($29, 211) and the National Federation of Independent Business ($135,783).

Critics: Walmart Protests Lack Actual Walmart Employees

Union front groups are planning more than 1,500 protests at Walmarts nationwide on Black Friday despite lacking significant support from actual employees, critics say.
The Organization United for Respect at Walmart (OUR Walmart), a self-proclaimed subsidiary of the United Food and Commercial Workers retail union (UFCW), says it will picket 1,500 stores the day after Thanksgiving, one of the largest shopping days of the year.
OUR Walmart protest on last year's Black Friday / AP“Associates do stick together and look out for each other. We have to because Walmart and the Waltons seem to be fine with the financial struggles that we’re all facing,” Colorado Walmart employee Barbara Gertz said in an OUR Walmart release. “We’re are all in the same situation, one that Walmart creates by paying us poverty wages.”
Gertz appears to represent a small minority of Walmart’s 1.3 million employees. OUR Walmart’s 2012 Black Friday protest featured thousands of demonstrators, but less than 50 actual associates, according to the company. Labor watchdogs expect more of the same this year, especially because the worker center keeps focusing on the number of protests, rather than the number of employee dissidents.
“They’re not the type of grassroots worker-driven efforts that media portrays them to be,” Ryan Williams of Worker Center Watch said. “They’re protests held by professional protesters—oftentimes paid and given training—to cause a scene for publicity.”

Traveling This Thanksgiving? CHECK OUT: FOX EXTREME WEATHER CENTER

featured-img

Winter storm system heads east, could cause big delays for Thanksgiving travelers
Snow and ice are forecast for the northeast of the country as a deadly storm that started on the West Coast last week gathers steam Tuesday and powers toward the East in time for Thanksgiving.

The National Weather Service warned that the storm would almost certainly upset holiday travel plans for those hoping to visit loved ones in the mid-Atlantic and northeast.
"The timing of the storm couldn't be worse," said Chris Vaccaro, spokesman for the weather service headquarters in Silver Spring, Md. "We are seeing numerous threats as the storm is beginning to develop and intensify."

Vaccaro said heavy rain and high winds would impact travel by air and road in the northeast and mid-Atlantic, and that the weather in that part of the country could have a ripple effect on airports with departing and originating flights elsewhere.

On Tuesday and Wednesday morning, heavy rain and breezy conditions will strike the East Coast from the Carolinas to the northeast, with ice and snow a possibility in the Appalachians, western Pennsylvania and western New York.

The storm system, already blamed for at least 11 deaths, could also spawn an isolated tornado in the Florida Panhandle.

Iran: White House Lying About Details of Nuke Deal

Iranian officials say that the White House is misleading the public about the details of an interim nuclear agreement reached over the weekend in Geneva.
Iran and Western nations including the United States came to an agreement on the framework for an interim deal late Saturday night in Geneva. The deal has yet to be implemented
The White House released a multi-page fact sheet containing details of the draft agreement shortly after the deal was announced.
However, Iranian foreign ministry official on Tuesday rejected the White House’s version of the deal as “invalid” and accused Washington of releasing a factually inaccurate primer that misleads the American public.
“What has been released by the website of the White House as a fact sheet is a one-sided interpretation of the agreed text in Geneva and some of the explanations and words in the sheet contradict the text of the Joint Plan of Action, and this fact sheet has unfortunately been translated and released in the name of the Geneva agreement by certain media, which is not true,” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told the Iranian press on Tuesday.
Afkham and officials said that the White House has “modified” key details of the deal and released their own version of the agreement in the fact sheet.

The Magnitude of the Lie

Let’s think for a second about the immensity of what was done to the American people. The lie that was told. And continues to be told. And the resulting, awful, and unavoidable conclusion that your government cannot be trusted.
Obama’s claim, stated ad nauseum, that you could keep your health insurance, your doctor, your hospital, your proctologist, and so forth, was not just untrue. It was about as far from the truth as Harry Reid is from being a Martian.
Obama and Sebelius
On second thought, that’s not so far. But you get what I’m talking about.
The claim wasn’t even in the ballpark. Because not just a few people’s plans are going to change. Most of them will. Tens of millions. And Obama knew it.
Because the notion that your insurance must change is not just a fun factabout Obamacare; it’s central to its premise.
Obamacare guarantees certain benefits. Therefore, ergo, and so . . . PLANS THAT DON’T OFFER THESE BENEFITS HAVE TO CHANGE OR END.

Three guys, three nights make one terrific health insurance site

So, how are you going to respond if some obnoxious Obamabot relative or friend ruins your Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanza and/or Shabbat get together with (un)helpful suggestions about enrolling in The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act, ie, ObamaCare?  What if s/he even offers to guide you through the unworkable healthcare.gov site during a break in the festivities as mentioned here?  No, no, no, don't punch him/her or explain that you're not going to enroll because of higher premiums, higher deductibles for a worse policy.
If you want to put down while enlightening said obnoxious Obamabot have I got a better suggestion for you!  Smile sweetly, then smugly say, "Oh no problem.  I ignored the government and got all the information about health insurance I needed from HealthSherpa. Isn't it amazing what three diverse, minority (an Asian-American, a Greek-American and a Jewish-American) twenty something young men can do in a few nights with only a few hundred dollars?  Why couldn't the government do that?"

And then watch Obamabot sputter.  Oh sure, it might feebly retort, HealthSherpa isn't as comprehensive as the government site, you can't purchase a policy through the site, etc and etc, blah and blah.  "Exactly!," you reply.  "Affordable, non governmental insurance information is available without the costly government interference which distorts the market and the price."  "And," you triumphantly conclude, "it gives you all the information, including prices and comparable prices before you offer up very personal information on a very insecure, easily hackable site! You don't even have to give out personal information."
