CDC Official Calls Obama Worst President, Amateur, Marxist After Influx of Illegal Alien Minors

Following the influx of illegal immigrant minors from Central America, an official at the federal agency charged with protecting public health describes Barack Obama as “the worst pres we have ever had,” an “amateur” and “Marxist,” according to internal emails obtained by Judicial Watch.

JW got the records as part of an investigation into the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) activation of anEmergency Operations Center (EOC) to deal with the barrage of illegal alien minors last summer. Tens of thousands of Central Americans came into the United States through the Mexican border and contagious diseases—many considered to be eradicated in the U.S.—became a tremendous concern. The CDC, which operates under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), responded by opening an emergency facility designed to monitor and coordinate response activities to eminent public health threats.
This special emergency division was created after the 2001 terrorist attacks and has responded to more than 50 public health threats, including hurricanes, food borne disease outbreaks, the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic and the Haiti cholera outbreak. Scientists from across the CDC are brought together to analyze, validate, and efficiently exchange information during a public health emergency and connect with response partners. The EOC also coordinates the deployment of CDC staff and the procurement and management of all equipment and supplies that agency responders may need during their deployment.

It’s a major and costly operation that can stick American taxpayers with a huge tab. That’s why JW launched a probe when the Obama administration took in the illegal immigrants, initially coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), with open arms last summer. JW has sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for planning records involving the border crisis as well as information relating to the solicitation of “on-demand escort services” for the 65,000 UACs that remain in the U.S. Last year JW also reported that the illegal immigrant minors have brought in serious diseases, including swine flu, dengue fever, possibly Ebola virus and tuberculosis.

The CDC records obtained by JW this week include email exchanges between agency officials directly involved in the activation of the EOC to handle the health threats created by the influx of illegal alien minors last summer. In an email dated June 9, 2014, CDC Logistics Management Specialist George Roark wrote to CDC Public Health Advisor William Adams that “no country in the world would allow” the influx. Adams replies that “in ten years or less, they’ll all be voting…Commander’s intent…” Roark fires back by describing Obama as “the worst pres we have ever had…he truly is ‘the amateur’ but a Marxist too.”

[FLASHBACK 2012] What percentage of the U.S. population is gay, lesbian or bisexual?

A survey released Tuesday by the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports:
Based on the 2013 NHIS data [collected in 2013 from 34,557 adults aged 18 and over], 96.6% of adults identified as straight, 1.6% identified as gay or lesbian, and 0.7% identified as bisexual. The remaining 1.1% of adults identified as “something else[]” [0.2%,] stated “I don’t know the answer[]” [0.4%] or refused to provide an answer [0.6%].
More specifically, 1.8 percent of men self-identify as gay and 0.4 percent as bisexual, and 1.5 percent of women self-identify as lesbian and 0.9 percent as bisexual.
The results are generally in the same ballpark as past estimates — and far below the long-debunked 10 percent estimate. But past data that I’ve seen had suggested that there were about twice as many gay or bisexual men as lesbian or bisexual women; this data suggests that there is no such gender gap.

The ‘Public Health’ Cabal’s War on E-Cigarettes

Ever since the abominable Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Actgiving oversight over tobacco to the FDA, was passed in 2009, I and many of my colleagues in public health have watched in disbelief and horror as the crusade against e-cigarettes swung into high gear. It seemed for a moment as though the Golden Age had come to pass regarding smoking: the twin goals of FDA regulation and a truly low-risk method of delivering nicotine to addicted smokers without the lethal tar was at hand, at last.

Then the prize slipped through our fingers like sand: the FDA and all of the other federal health agencies (especially the CDC) led a crusade against these disruptive devices, initially trying to simply ban them as drug delivery devices (alongside a propaganda campaign alluding to various toxins in their vapor, all imaginary). When the federal courts blocked that path, the drug agency decided to enforce the Tobacco Control Act in the most stringent manner by promulgating a regulatory schema deeming e-cigs and vapor products as candidates for regulation as tobacco — despite their total lack of that substance. Such over-regulation would effectively ban these products, despite their proven and accelerating popularity among smokers trying to quit. The anti-vaping crusade has since been eagerly joined by most of the academic centers, “public health” nonprofits, and politicians far and wide, ostensibly to “protect our children from Big Tobacco.”

Of course, as soon as your hear a politician chant the “for the children” mantra, get ready to have your pocket picked. And, no surprise, the real motivation behind these campaigns became clear: follow the money. Once that realization came, the whole issue became clear, depressingly so.

White House: Shutdown Has Furloughed 4 Nobel Scientists, CDC Flu Surveillance

The Nobel Prize and the government shutdown were both in the news this week, for different reasons, but they’re also linked by the shutdown briefing that President Obama received Sunday morning. While the mainstream media has established that the shutdown has had no effect on the output of three-minute Youtube videos, it has resulted in the furloughing of four Nobel Prize-winning scientists, and the suspension of the Centers for Disease Control’s flu surveillance program. From a White House official, via email:
Today, the President was briefed by Denis McDonough on the impacts of the lapse in appropriations on important research programs.
The federal government’s research agencies have been largely shuttered, with scientists sent home and projects shelved.  There are five Nobel Prize-winning researchers currently working for the federal government, all of whom are world-renowned scientists and leaders in their field.  Four of them are currently furloughed and unable to conduct their federal research on behalf of the American public due to the government shutdown.
Additional details below:
•          Center for Disease Control: Two-thirds of CDC personnel have been sent home. CDC’s activities in influenza surveillance and monitoring have been cut back, just as we are moving into peak flu season.  While many flu vaccines are produced by private companies, CDC’s annual flu vaccination campaigns have been cut back and the weekly “Flu View” report that is relied upon by public-health authorities has been suspended.  CDC will continue to address any imminent threats to public health.
•          National Science Foundation: 98 percent of the National Science Foundation has been furloughed, and new scientific research grants are not being issued.
•          National Institute for Health: Currently, nearly three-quarters of NIH staff have been furloughed.  Although the NIH Clinical Center remains open for patients already enrolled in studies, most new patients have been turned away during the shutdown.  NIH will continue to monitor its admissions policy and adjust as necessary based on life and safety considerations, depending on the duration of the shutdown.

GOP READY TO DEAL ON DEBT, KEEP GOV CLOSED

House Republicans are preparing a proposal for a short-term increase in the debt ceiling, expected to last about six weeks. The move would allow talks between the House, Senate and Obama on a longer-term plan dealing with government spending and ObamaCare. The risk of triggering default when the debt ceiling is hit later this month would be put off until December. The partial government shutdown would continue.

The partial shutdown, itself, is gradually shrinking. About half the roughly 800,000 "non-essential" workers originally furloughed will be back on the job this week. The Defense Department recalled all its civilian workers, around 350,000, after a new interpretation of recent legislation to fund the military. Numerous other agencies, like CDC and FEMA, has recalled workers after agency lawyers expanded the definition of "public safety," a key trigger to be deemed "essential."
The Veteran Administration has said it is likely to recall all of its furloughed workers if, as expected, the Senate approves House-passed legislation to award back pay to furloughed workers. This actually makes some sense. If an agency or office knows its workers are going to be paid whether or not they work, it is probably better to at least have them do the work.
National Parks and other government offices will still be close, but with most furloughed federal workers back on the job, the political costs of the shutdown will be mitigated. The sad irony, of course, is that federal workers will among those few groups not impacted by the shutdown.

Harry Reid Responds to Backlash Over Remarks About Kids With Cancer

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid got in some hot water over responding to a question about funding the NIH to help just one child with cancer with the question, “Why would we want to do that?” On Bill Press‘ radio show, Reid defended himself from the criticism and turned the tables on the GOP.
Reid explained he meant to say was, “Why would we want to have the House of Representatives,John Boehner cherry-pick what stays open and what to be––what should be closed?”
He insisted he does care about helping children with cancer, but also cares about agencies like the CDC as well, and they should be funded too.
“We can’t fall into the trap, and here is the trap of the Cruz-led Republicans, and that is this: ‘Listen, we’ll cherry-pick, we’ll open this today and this tomorrow, and finally at the end, everything will be open except the money to finish Obamacare.’”
He also tweeted out a message scolding Republicans for trying to distort his message.

Allen West: ‘We Are Not Even Allowing Our Children And Grandchildren To Be Born’

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) introduced a coalition of black pro-life advocates on Capitol Hill on Friday by saying that abortion threatens the future of the black Americans.
“Today, we’re talking about the future,” West said. “It’s not just the $16 trillion in debt that we’re about to put on our children and grandchildren. It’s the fact that we’re not even allowing our children and grandchildren to be born.”
Catherine Davis, president of The Restoration Project, said the Centers for Disease Control statistics show that while blacks represent about 13 percent of the U.S. population, 35 percent of abortions are performed on black women.
“There is one organization whose mission is one of population control that greatly influences this disproportionate rate – that’s Planned Parenthood,” said Davis who, along with the other panelists, called for Congress to stop funding the organization. “They are the largest abortion provider, performing more than 329,000 abortions a year.”
Other speakers included Ryan Bomberger, founder of the Radiance Foundation. Bomberger’s mother was raped but carried the pregnancy to term and gave him up for adoption.
Bomberger’s biography states that, “His life defies the myth of the ‘unwanted’ child as he was adopted, loved and has flourished.”
