[VIDEO] NPR Host Offends Bernie Sanders with Accusation He Has Dual U.S.-Israeli Citizenship

Apparently this was not the first time Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has been confronted with rumors that he holds dual citizenship in the United States and Israel. During an interview on NPR Wednesday, host Diane Rehm told the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, “You have dual citizenship with Israel,” to which he quickly replied, “No I do not have dual citizenship with Israel. I’m an American.”
“I don’t know where that question came from,” Sanders continued. “I am an American citizen, and I have visited Israel on a couple of occasions. No, I’m an American citizen, period.”
When Rehm said his named appeared on some sort of list she received, Sanders replied, “That’s some of the nonsense that goes on in the internet. But that is absolutely not true.” Later, he added, “I get offended a little bit by that comment, and I know it’s been on the internet. I am obviously an American citizen and I do not have any dual citizenship.”
As the Jewish Journal reported, Sanders’ name does appear on various online lists of U.S. members of Congress with dual Israeli citizenship, but the sources are non-existent and appear to have originated from “anti-Semite and anti-Zionist” activists.
Sanders is Jewish and reportedly spent several months living and working on a kibbutz there after he graduated from college. Last summer, the senator faced off with constituents at a Vermont town hall who objected to his defense of Israel’s aggressive attacks on Hamas in Gaza.
UPDATE- 4:40 pm EST: Rehm sent a follow-up statement to Talking Points Memo about her error:
On today’s show I made a mistake. Rather than asking Senator and Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders whether he had dual U.S./Israeli citizenship, as I had read in a comment on Facebook, I stated it as fact.
He corrected me, saying he did not know where the question came from. I apologized immediately.
I want to apologize as well to all our listeners for having made an erroneous statement. I am sorry for the mistake. However, I am glad to play a role in putting this rumor to rest.

EXCLUSIVE–IOWA GOP CHAIRMAN REACTS TO BERNIE SANDERS’ AND MARTIN O’MALLEY’S RECEPTION IN IOWA: ‘SOCIALISM IS SO ODD TO US’

DES MOINES, Iowa – Although underdogs, Hillary Clinton’s competition in the Democratic Party drew large crowds in Iowa last weekend, as Breitbart News previously reported.

The self proclaimed socialist, “Sanders attracted overflow crowds in Ames and Davenport, then Sanders capped his three-day trip with a Saturday night stop in Kensett, where more than 300 people greeted him,” Radio Iowa’s O. Kay Henderson wrote earlier last week.
“To a certain degree, I think socialism is so odd to us – I think there would be people that want to hear how in the world an American could promote socialism,” Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kauffman told Breitbart News – adding that he is interested in how Sanders will put his campaign message all together.
Breitbart News questioned if Iowans were interested in both Sanders and O’Malley because they aren’t Clinton – as Clinton’s honesty and trustworthiness has been crumbling among independent voters, a recent poll suggests.
“The Democrats I know certainly are – I don’t know if a socialist is going to provide that – but you know, if you look at Hillary’s voting record she’s a socialist in the making – and wait until she gets in the Obama White House and picks up whatever he leaves, in terms of his policies,” Kauffman added.
Breitbart News noted how Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is the favorite in Iowa in many recent polls but that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)
93%
were the only two candidates in a recent poll that Iowans selected in an individual match up with Clinton.

“These polls are going to be so fluid … I listen to the polls obviously – you know, I’m not going to get real serious about the polls at least for the top ten until – I’ll tell you it’s going to almost have to be October before I start listening,” he said.
Kauffman said it’s hard to believe anything in a June or July poll can be of any predictive value of what is going to happen in February.

The Myth that Republicans are Growing More Extreme

There is an insidious meme afoot that in the Obama era Democrats have been heroically restraining themselves by clinging to moderate policies while ideologically extreme Republicans have gone hog-wild in the pursuit of conservative purity.
Today’s Democratic Party makes common cause with the criminals who burn down poor people’s neighborhoods in American cities. And yet the Right is somehow alleged to be more susceptible to “extremism.”

Sharpening her class-warfare guillotine, Hillary Clinton calls for the “toppling” of the one percent. She copycats her potential rival, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), claiming that “the deck is stacked” in favor of the wealthy and powerful.

“My job is to reshuffle the cards,” Clinton says.
Yet Republicans, who haven’t singled out identifiable social groups for destruction, somehow get tagged as the radicals.

This alleged so-called asymmetric polarization by the GOP is just the latest iteration of the hoary media myth that Republicans are dangerous extremists and Democrats are reasonable moderates. It is popping up now because the two parties’ primary contests are heating up. The benighted masses need to be reminded by their betters what to think and how to vote.

In a May 31 Financial Times column titled “American socialism’s day in the sun,” garden-variety left-winger Edward Luce hails the recent entry of self-described socialist Bernie Sanders into the Democratic presidential race because, he claims, it is “dragging” frontrunner Hillary Clinton “leftward.”

“At 15 per cent in the Democratic polls, Bernie Sanders, the senator from Vermont, is riding higher than any US socialist since Eugene Debs ran for the White House a century ago,” writes Luce, who is the son of a British peer and was speechwriter to Bill Clinton’s Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers from 1999 to 2001.

“The fact that Mr. Sanders has very little chance of unseating Hillary Clinton is beside the point. His popularity is dragging her leftward. If he flames out, other left-wingers, such as Martin O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland who entered the race at the weekend, are ready to pick up the baton. Elizabeth Warren, the populist Massachusetts senator, will continue to prod Mrs. Clinton from outside the field. The more Mrs. Clinton adopts their language, the harder it will be for her to reclaim the centre ground next year. Yet she is only following the crowd. A surprisingly large chunk of Democrats are happy to break the US taboo against socialism.”

FIVE SCANDALS FOR HILLARY CLINTON AND BERNIE SANDERS THAT WOULD SINK ANY REPUBLICAN

On Thursday, Dan Joseph of Media Research Center uncovered an old column written by 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VA). In that column, Sanders bestowed upon the world his wisdom with regard to men and women:

A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused. A woman enjoys intercourse with her man – as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.
The date: February 1972. The place: the Vermont FreemanMother Jones called this charming description of male-female sexual differences “a stream-of-consciousness essay on the nature of male-female sexual dynamics.” Thus far, Sanders’ abuse fantasies and his own fantasy that women dream of rape by multiple men have been covered by precisely zero mainstream news outlets. Mother Jones didn’t even bother quoting the essay directly, instead choosing to embed a screenshot. That’s because rape fantasies are funny and charming when they come from an aged socialist hippie.
Welcome to the 2016 presidential race, where Republicans are targeted for scandal when the media deliberately misquote them, but Democrats get away with behavior that would make Caligula blush.
Yesterday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was quoted speaking about the benefits of ultrasounds, which he said were “a cool thing out there.” The media spun the quote as though Walker had called it “cool” to mandate transvaginal ultrasounds when Walker wasn’t even talking about transvaginal ultrasounds.

Bernie Sanders Condemns Existence of 23 Different Deodorant Brands While Children Go Hungry

Self-proclaimed socialist and progressive favorite Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) laments the idea that Americans can choose between “23 underarm spray deodorants” as children go hungry under President Obama’s economy.
“You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants when children are hungry in this country,” Sanders told John Harwood in an interview posted Tuesday.
Sanders will make his official campaign Democratic presidential announcement alongside the Ben and Jerry’s cofounders in Burlington on Tuesday.
Sanders said he would not condemn Hillary Clinton for bringing in millions of dollars in speaking fees but said it would be hard for her to separate fighting for the middle class and fighting against corporate interests. Sanders also said the Clintons have grown accustomed to a worldview that has led to them losing touch with the world around them.
Sanders has advocated for returning the personal income tax rate to 90 percent for top earners, as it was in the 1950s. He brushed off the comments from businesses that have called his “revolution” for the transfer of wealth from the top earners to the middle class, similar to Nazi Germany.
“These people are so greedy, they’re so out of touch with reality,” Sanders said. “You know what? Sorry, you’re all going to have to pay your fair share of taxes.”
The New York Times reported that Sanders is fine with reducing economic growth if it reduces income inequality.

Bernie Sanders Wants To Bring Back A 90 Percent Tax Rate

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders wouldn’t mind hiking taxes to an eye-popping 90 percent for wealthy Americans.
The socialist lawmaker — running against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primary — told CNBC that he could get behind exploding tax rates back to levels not seen since the 1950s.
“[When] radical socialist Dwight D. Eisenhower was president,” Sanders said in an interview with John Harwood, “I think the highest marginal tax rate was something like 90 percent.”
“It was 90,” agreed Harwood. “When you think about 90 percent, you don’t think that’s obviously too high?”
“No,” Sanders replied. “What I think is obscene, and what frightens me is, again, when you have the top one-tenth of one percent owning almost as much wealth as the bottom 90.”
“Does anybody think that is the kind of economy this country should have?”

Bernie Sanders Wants Huge ‘Robin Hood’ Stock Tax To Make College Free

Bernie Sanders, the Democratic presidential candidate and self-proclaimed socialist who wants the United States to morph into a vast Scandinavia, is holding a Tuesday press conference to explain how he will soak the rich to make tuition at public, four-year colleges and universities free.
Sanders will propose legislation to fund his free-college scheme with massive new taxes on stock transactions, Bloomberg reports.
The Vermont senator’s bill, if passed, would add a 50-cent tax for every “$100 of stock trades on stock sales, and lesser amounts on transactions involving bonds, derivatives, and other financial instruments,” according to a press release from a group called Robin Hood Tax on Wall Street.
