[VIDEO] Ed Schultz: I Don’t Care If It’s Been Ruled By Democrats, Republican Policies Destroyed Detroit

Sometimes you have to wonder if anyone at MSNBC is actually watching what is being said on the network.
On Thursday’s Ed Show, host Ed Schultz actually said, “Thanks to Republican policies, and I don't care if [Detroit's] been under Democratic rule or not, it's Republican policies that have come down from the state and the country that have put this city in a bad position” (video follows with commentary):
To be sure, this wasn't the first time Schultz has blamed Republicans for Detroit's demise, but from what I can tell, this is the first time he said so in the same sentence admitting that Democrats controlled the city.
In fact, they controlled the city for 51 years.
As for Republican policies from the state, Rick Snyder (R) has been governor since January 2011.
However, Democrats in the statehouse have largely overseen Detroit's demise with James Blanchard as governor from January 1983 to January 1991 and Jennifer Granholm running the ship from January 2003 till January 2011.
With Republican John Engler in control of things from January 1991 to January 2003, that means Michigan's had a Democratic governor sixteen of the last 30 years.
Facts sure are a stupid thing at MSNBC, ain't they?

Ed Show Online Poll Asks: ‘Are Conservatives the New Confederates?’

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is not particularly subtle in his political analysis. Case in point, his big online poll question today is: “Are conservatives the new Confederates?” The response was a resounding “yes.”
Schultz was spurred to ask this question by ReverendJesse Jackson saying in a POLITICO interview yesterday, “The tea party is the resurrection of the Confederacy, it’s the Fort Sumter tea party.”
But Schultz’s poll takes things one step further. Jackson’s comment was just about the tea party. Schultz is asking if all conservatives are Confederates. As of this typing, “yes” has 1,336 votes, making up 74.18 percent of total votes.
Jackson elaborated on his remarks on Schultz’s MSNBC show, citing the “anti-voting rights, anti-women’s rights, anti-labor… Confederate agenda” of the modern right.

[VIDEO] MSNBC Viewer Prompted by Ed Schultz Asks if GOP ‘Itching’ for ‘Race War’

Upon his return to weekdays, MSNBC host Ed Schultz demonstrated what his news network has become by taking the racial vitriol to a yet-unseen level. After making a detailed case on Tuesday about efforts underway in America to reintroduce racial segregation, take away the constitutional rights of African-Americans, and reinvigorate prejudice, Schultz was confronted by a viewer who was moved to ask if the Republican Party is trying to foment “a race war.” Uncomfortable by the results of his own actions, Schultz said that the media has a duty to “tone things down” when they get too heated.
Schultz began his Tuesday program by launching into a tirade about how Republicans, and conservatives in general, are actively attempting to restore segregationist policies in the U.S.
He cites, as examples, a disturbing but isolated episode in which a black family was denied service at a restaurant, a neo-Nazi group’s plan for a whites-only camp in South Dakota, and the “spewing of hate” from conservative talk radio in the South.
After plastering a Confederate flag across a map of the lower 48 states, Schultz launched into a tirade – fuming with rage – about how the rights of African-Americans were “under attack” virtually everywhere.
Upon returning from a break, a viewer asked a natural question of Schultz: “Do you think some on the right are itching for a race war in this country?” the viewer asked.
Shultz, suddenly made uncomfortable by the fruits of his irresponsible agitation, pulled back. “I think we in the media have a responsibility to tone things down when it gets hot, if you know what I mean,” he said.
