[VIDEO] Ed Schultz: ‘Why Give Obama Fast Track Authority On Trade Deal? Because He’s African-American?’

NEW POLL:  55% OPPOED TO FAST TRACK!!!
MSNBC’s Ed Schultz continued his critique of President Barack Obama’s push for Fast Track Authority on trade Friday by invoking the president’s race as he looks to push through a deal against Democratic opposition.
In his opening monologue, Schultz wondered why Democrats should “give the president fast track authority,” before going on to invoke Obama’s ethnicity into the debate
“Why give the president fast track authority? Because he’s African-American? I don’t think so,” Schultz said. “I don’t care if the president’s Asian, African-American, from Nigeria, if he’s a fat white guy from Minnesota, it doesn’t matter.”
ED SCHULTZ: The bottom line in all of this is that we have a track record of trade agreements that have gutted American jobs. In fact, we have seen the Chinese cheat when it comes to trade agreements. We have seen them dump stuff on our market. And the trade agreements aren’t set up where we can recoil fast enough and straighten things out. By that time, the jobs are lost down the road. So this is more of the same.
So why give the president fast track authority? Because he’s African-American? I don’t think so. I don’t care if the president’s Asian, African-American, from Nigeria, if he’s a fat white guy from Minnesota, it doesn’t matter. The fact is, this is a bad deal for America. And no one’s telling the truth exactly what is in this. And why do we have to have a trade deal with Brunei? Sharia law. Really? That’s going to make our economy better? No. This is a Wall Street deal. This is a corporate deal. It’s not for the betterment of raising wages in this country.

[VIDEO] Did MSNBC President Phil Griffin Commit Perjury?

Ed Schultz is a classic school yard bully.
So it makes perverse sense that the deposition of MSNBC President Phil Griffin turned into a show and tell exhibit, with the MSNBC president forced to read back all the emails Schultz sent his ex-business partner Michael Queen promising him a piece of the pie.
And that was even before Griffin volunteered that he was just so impressed with Schultz when he thought he saw him ask a question at Barack Obama’s first presidential news conference.
The Mirror has exclusively obtained the video of Griffin’s deposition on September 4, 2014 at NBC headquarters in New York. Lawyers presented Griffin with email after email that Schultz wrote to Queen making clear they had partnered to get Schultz a TV show.
Abbott had Griffin read the emails aloud and then asked if Schultz ever discussed them with him.
The point was that Schultz deliberately cut Queen out of the loop when he inked a deal with Griffin. About 15 minutes into the deposition, Catfish Abbott, the trial lawyer for Queen, gave Griffin a June 7, 2008 email from Schultz to Queen about the show pilot.
Like a chastened schoolboy, Griffin [at 14:30 on the video] dutifully read it aloud.

Populist blowhard Ed Schultz secretly flies on his own fleet of private jets

Populist blowhard Ed Schultz secretly flies on his own fleet of private jets
MSNBC host Ed Schultz, who has repeatedly criticized opponents for owning private jets, owns multiple private jets and conceals his flight data from the  public.
Schultz owns Ed Schultz Broadcasting, LLC and has owned at least three Cessnas and one Piper. Schultz has owned two Cessna 560s, which typically sell for more than $5 million per plane. (He sold one plane—tail number N421LT — to Lakin Tire West Incorporated in 2011). Schultz also owns one Cessna 208B which is worth over $1.5 million. He also owns a Piper Cheyenne turboprop, estimated at more than $2 million.
Those hefty price tags don’t include the salaries of the two pilots, the fuel, or the maintenance costs. It costs more than $1,295 per hour to operate a Cessna 560, making it one of the more expensive private jets.
Nor do we know where one of Schulz’s planes — his Cessna 560, tail number N469ES — actually goes. Schulz has been given special permission not to reveal his flight routes.
edschultzfaaregistry
In early 2011, the Department of Transportation required private plane owners to reveal their flight information to the general public. The registration number, flight, path, departure point, destination, and flight length of private planes are now accessible to the public — unless operators and owners send the Federal Aviation Administration “writtencertification” that that data would create a security threat. The Department of Transportation later reversed itself in late 2011 and allowed any operator to block that information.

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Jabs at Fox’s The Five

At the conclusion of a Wednesday Ed Show segment, MSNBC host Ed Schultz took a jab at his Fox time slot competitor The Five, mocking that the subject matter contained within his discussion was “over their heads.”
“I know this is over The Five‘s head across the street,” Schultz said after a discussion with Joan Walsh about their belief that Obamacare will benefit most Americans in the long-run, despite Republican protests to the contrary.
“And I know they need five people to talk about it,” he concluded, “I just need Joan Walsh and me.”

Charlie Crist Flip Flops…Yet Again

NewGOPcom_GOP_Res_BlogIn An Interview Monday With MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, Republican-Turned-Independent-Turned-Democrat Charlie Crist Said He Would Raise Taxes As Governor. SCHULTZ: “What would you do with Florida’s finances, and what would you expect, would you expect more out of the wealthiest residents? CRIST: Well I think we all have to expect more out of each other. I don’t like to raise taxes. I don’t know that anybody really enjoys the idea of doing that. I did it as Governor, though. SCHULTZ: Would you do it again? CRIST: If necessary, I would.” (MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” 11/18/13)
  • Crist Noted That He’d Raised Taxes During His Term As Governor. CRIST: “I don’t like to raise taxes. I don’t know that anybody really enjoys the idea of doing that. I did it as Governor, though.” ( MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” 11/18/13)

WHEN HE STILL CALLED HIMSELF A REPUBLICAN, CRIST INSISTED THAT HE HADN’T RAISED TAXES AS GOVERNOR, JUST “FEES”

In A Primary Debate During His 2010 Senate Race, Crist Vehemently Denied Having Raised Taxes In Florida’s 2009 Budget. WALLACE: “Let me ask you, Governor Crist, about your record, though. When you were running for governor four years ago, you made a flat, George H. W. Bush pledge: you will not raise taxes as long as you’re governor. Last year you signed a $66 billion state budget that had a $2.2 billion increase in taxes, new taxes and fees. Didn’t you break your promise to Florida voters? CRIST: No, I don’t think I did, and I’ll tell you why. The only part of it that was a tax — and it’s loosely defined as a tax — was on cigarettes. And I would argue that that’s a user fee. If you don’t use them, you don’t pay it.” (Fox News Sunday Florida Primary Debate, 3/28/10)
  • Crist: “The Only Part Of It That Was A Tax — And It’s Loosely Defined As A Tax — Was On Cigarettes. And I Would Argue That That’s A User Fee. If You Don’t Use Them, You Don’t Pay It.” (Fox News Sunday Florida Primary Debate, 3/28/10)
When Asked About The Higher Fees He Had Approved On Drivers’ Licenses, Motor Vehicle Registration And Motor Vehicle Tags, Crist Again Insisted They Were Fee Increases, Not Tax Increases. WALLACE: “I’m going to get to Mr. Rubio in a minute. But you also signed into law higher fees on drivers’ licenses and on motor vehicle registration, motor vehicle tags. You said these aren’t broad-based taxes. Governor, 16 million people are drivers in Florida and there are 18 million motor vehicles. CRIST: No, I understand that. I understand that, Chris. WALLACE: That’s a pretty broad-based tax, isn’t it? CRIST: Well, I don’t think it’s a tax. It’s a fee. If you don’t drive, you don’t pay it, if you look at it by its pure common- sense definition.” ( Fox News Sunday Florida Primary Debate, 3/28/10)

[VIDEO] MSNBC's Ed Schultz Justifies Obama Lying About Health Care: 'People Were on the Fear Fence'

The increasingly agitated Ed Schultz on Wednesday both justified lying to Americans about being able to keep their insurance and, at the same time, berated the very concept of "appeasing" the millions who have lost coverage. The Ed Show anchor opened the show by frantically screaming that ObamaCare is about "making the market better." He added, "It's not about appeasing people when they get upset, when they get a cancellation notice in the mail." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Schultz slammed Bill Clinton for suggesting that the President allow Americans to keep their insurance. Seeming to okay lying, Schultz rationalized, "No. President Obama said that because there were a lot of people in this country who were on the fear fence, worried what's going to happen to them."
Hosting an imaginary conversation in his mind, "Are we going to lose our insurance?' 'Yeah, if it's lousy, you are!' Just say it.'"
A partial transcript of the November 13 segment is below:
5:02
ED SCHULTZ: ObamaCare is about making the market better. Getting rid of junk insurance. There are a lot of Americans in the private market that don't have very good insurance and it doesn't cover very much. And when they get sick, the cost goes up for all of us. This is about reform. It's not about appeasing people when they get upset, when they get a cancellation notice in the mail saying "You got lousy insurance. It doesn't meet the standards. Go to the federal market." Do we need, like, a health care summit so we can get all the good guys around the table to figure out what the hell to say to the cameras? President Clinton, drop me an e-mail. Tell me what good that interview did when you said that there are three things wrong with ObamaCare. There are people out there who were sitting on every word, wondering who do I believe?
"Do I believe the lines of misinformation? Well, is Ed lying to me, or what's going on? Is there really a junk insurance industry out there?" Absolutely, there is. And the whole point of this is that American consumers have had lousy insurance policies. But now we've got President Clinton. Things are so mixed up, he's out there saying, "Well, you know what? If we told people that they could keep their insurance, that's the way it ought to be." No. President Obama said that because there were a lot of people in this country who were on the fear fence, worried what's going to happen to them. "Are we going to lose our insurance? "Yeah, if it's lousy, you are!" Just say it. Instead we're mopping it up and now they're throwing out some possible legislation that might fix this. You know what will fix this? People, go to the website, be patient, sign up, and get after it and get covered.

[VIDEO] Ed Schultz: ‘Fact’ that Conservatives Control 90 Percent of Media

Ed Schultz claimed that conservative ownership over nearly every media entity is part of the reason why the recent coverage on Obamacare has been unfavorable. “Fact of the matter is 90 percent of the electronic media which is owned in this country is owned by conservatives,” the MSNBC host claimed on his show on Wednesday evening.

While Schultz conceded that conservative media such as talk radio have been effective in their messaging, he blamed it for “putting people in a very entrenched way of thinking.” Without the Fairness Doctrine, he whined, the Left doesn’t have an opportunity to broadcast their views, which could ultimately cripple causes such as Obamacare.

Schultz’s so-called fact is presumably based on this graphic that highlights media consolidation, with six companies, including Viacom and Time Warner, owning about 90 percent of the media landscape. Yet, in no way does it indicate that they’re controlled by a vast conservative conspiracy, as Schultz claims.

In fact, if there was a conspiracy, then they’re not doing a very good job at it.According to a September Gallup poll, about half of Americans see the media as being “too liberal,” compared with 13 percent who see it as “too conservative.” Even among Democrats, roughly the same percentage find the media to be “too conservative” as they do “too liberal,” 21 percent and 19 percent respectively.

Ed “Let’s get to work” Schultz could have done a bit more work looking at the information on the subject rather than just making baseless claims. Then again, he wouldn’t have much of a show if he did.

Unhinged Ed Schultz: GOP Committing 'Economic Terrorism,' 'Coup d'Etat' With Shutdown

For the second time in one day, an MSNBC anchor accused Republicans of betraying the United States. According to Ed Schultz on Tuesday, House GOP members who won't agree to all of Barack Obama's demands on the government shutdown are committing "economic terrorism" and plotting a "coup d'etat" against the President.
Schultz brought on Democratic Congressman Joseph Crowley to discuss whether there would be a vote on the shutdown. The Ed Show host fumed, "Congressman, what we're seeing happen in America right now, I think, is economic terrorism." The anchor offered his version of what passing the debt ceiling deadline would mean: "Interest rates are going to go nuts. Belt tightening is going to take place. Unemployment's going to go up." He escalated, "This is economic terrorism as I call it...It seems to be nothing more than a legislative coup d'etat." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
A legislative coup d'etat? So the Republicans are, legislatively, trying a "a sudden attempt" to "take over the government, usually through violence"? Perhaps Schultz is unaware that Congress control the purse strings.
Earlier in the day, anchor Thomas Roberts slimed a GOP congresswoman, wondering, "Do you hate ObamaCare more than you love your country?
Echoing a similar theme, Schultz on October 7 declared House Speaker John Boehner to be guilty of "treason."

Schultz Challenges Hannity to Debate: ‘Let’s See If I’m the Knucklehead You Think I Am’

Could there be an Ed Schultz vs. Sean Hannity debate in our future? This week, MSNBC’s Schultz challenged Fox’s Hannity to an on-air showdown over comments he made about “treasonous” John Boehner’s efforts to keep the government shutdown in order to take away Americans’ health care.
Schultz played a clip from Hannity during his “Trenders” segment Monday in which the Fox host said, “Eddie Schultz is back… and he’s frothing at the mouth about treasonous John Boehner.” Hannity added on his show, “I wonder what Williams and Brokaw and Lauer think of this knucklehead,” name-dropping some of Schultz’s NBC News colleagues.
At the end of his piece, Schultz submitted his challenge to Hannity. “Sean, wherever you want to debate, you name the place, the time,” he said. “Come on. give me a chance, Sean. Let’s see if I’m the knucklehead that you think I am. Let’s have a debate, Hannity. Certainly you’re punching up, in my opinion.

[VIDEO] MSNBC's Ed Schultz Declares John Boehner Guilty of 'Treason'

They have great writers on this comedy show!! Make it up as they go along!!!
Hard-left MSNBC host Ed Schultz on Monday took his assault on the Republican Party to a new level, declaring that John Boehner is a "traitor" to America for not giving in to Barack Obama on the government shutdown. After railing about how congressional GOP members are trying to destroy the country, the Ed Show anchor delivered his verdict: "And they will shut down the government and they will not pay the bills to get their way. The word is treason, the treasonous John Boehner." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Schultz bizarrely added, "The United States is at risk right now and I hope that there will be some foreign folks that will step up and say, you really don't want to do this." The definition of "treason" is apparently tied to attacking Obama. On May 24, 2012, Schultz shrieked over a Republican Congressman calling the President "not an American." The anchor berated, "That he would attack the commander in chief verbally? This is treasonous for him to say that he is not an American in his heart."
Treason is a very serious crime, one punishable by death. Is Schultz suggesting the death penalty for Boehner's high crimes?
Perhaps the anchor's viewers are egging him on. On Schultz's Facebook page, one commenter asked:
#Ask Ed. Why is no one talking TREASON? If you'd hard your country economically, harm it's people intentionally, and render aid to the enemy--which is what comes from army, CIA, secret service cuts--then you are a traitor to America. A dozen people were hanged for killing Lincoln. This is a conspiracy to hurt America.
The host closed by wondering if Boehner is "playing Russian Roulette with the American economy."

‘There Are No Glitches’: Ed Schultz Insists Fox Behind Myth of Obamacare Flaws

“There are no glitches,” MSNBC host Ed Schultzdeclared. Ever, you ask? No, only in the case of the divinely inspired and flawlessly executed health care exchanges that opened on Tuesday as part of the Affordable Care Act. In fact, the widely reported and well-documented failures that the system experienced on opening day were, according to Schultz, a myth propagated by Fox News Channel.
Schultz began his commentary on Wednesday by imploring that the White House refuse to budge off of their position that they will refuse to seek a negotiated settlement with Republicans in Congress to reopen the federal government.
“This is about standing strong,” Schultz insisted. “This is about not backing down. This is about showing a spine.”
“You can just listen to them manufacture glitches,” he continued. After a brief digression, Schultz returned to his central point about the exchanges not experiencing” glitches” of any kind.
“There are no glitches,” he insisted. “If you opened up a restaurant and you couldn’t feed anybody because there were too many people that got in early, and you just couldn’t handle the line, do you think the manager of the restaurant is going to go back and chew out the staff because the response was overwhelming? I think they would probably call that a good night at the office.”
“But, of course, Fox News and the republicans, they call that a glitch,” he concluded.

Media Mash: MSNBC's Schultz Wonders Why 'People Don't Love Obama'

It "amazes" MSNBC's Ed Schultz "that people don't love Obama" and think he's doing a stellar job handling the economy. Reacting to a video clip of that absurd rant, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell told the audience of Sean Hannity's September 19 program the reasons why.
There's "1.9 million less jobs" now than when President Obama took office, not to mention "47,600,000 Americans on food stamps" and "3 million people [who] have entered the rolls of poverty since [Obama] became president," the Media Research Center founder noted. "That's why they don't love him, everybody's having a very hard time" in the Obama economy and "Ed Schultz needs a dosage of reality," Bozell concluded. Hannity agreed, noting that when it comes to on-air Obamagasms, "he's giving Chris Matthews a run for his money." [watch the full "Media Mash" segment below the page break]  Bozell and Hannity also discussed how the media, particularly MSNBC's Alex Witt, sought to portray President Obama as "coming out the winner" in his bumbling handling of the Syrian chemical weapons crisis:

SEAN HANNITY: Give him the Nobel Peace Prize. He fell into a solution after Vladimir Putin threatened to shoot missiles out of the air--
BRENT BOZELL: Somebody should get them some smelling salts over at that network. Look, here's just the simple reality. Barack Obama has lost control of the Middle East. The United States has lost control of the Middle East. Vladimir Putin is now  planning policy in the Middle East.
They are laughing at us. Putin is now saying, well, maybe they won't do it after all. Assad is saying, well, maybe I'll do it, but give me a billion dollars more. They're laughing at America. At MSNBC, they call that a victory.

MSNBC's Ed Schultz Compares Obama to George Patton, GOPers to Nazi General

Are film references a prerequisite for a 5pm show on MSNBC? Ed Schultz, who took over for movie-mad Chris Matthews, on Wednesday compared Barack Obama to George C. Scott's portrayal of General Patton. Schultz attacked House Republicans for disparaging ObamaCare and not allowing supporters of the President's health care reform to testify. The anchor salivated, "Can we say that President Obama has 'em exactly where he wants 'em?"
He added, "You know, it kind of reminds me of that 1971 movie Patton...General Patton was in the field, and he was watching Rommel bring his tanks into a trap. And General Patton put the glasses on...and said 'Rommel, you bastard! I read your book!'" Quite pleased with his comparison, Schultz concluded, "Our guy [Obama] reads a lot too. He's got these folks right where they deserve to be." [MP3 audio here. See video below.]
Matthews, who previously held the 5pm spot on MSNBC, once compared Dick and Liz Cheney to aliens from Superman.
In March, Matthews asserted that Pro-Second Amendment voices are like the Nazis in Casablanca.

‘You’re a Lousy Parent’: Ed Shultz Insists Parents Tolerant of GTA 5 ‘Play a Role’ in Mass Violence

IS THIS WHAT THEY CALL NEWS THESE DAYS?  HE SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB!!!!

On Tuesday, MSNBC host Ed Schultz tore into what he saw as hypocrisy in the national debate about how best to stem violence in the United States in the wake of the attack on the Washington Navy Yard on Monday. Schultz attacked parents across America who might be allowing their children to purchase and play Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5.
“It’s a dandy,” Schultz said, holding up a picture of the game which he noted cost $250 million to produce. “It’s called Grand Theft Auto.”
“It’s got stealing cars, shooting people, and beating up hookers,” he continued. “If you’re a parent and you allow your son or daughter to watch this – even if they’re beyond 18-years-old, you’re a lousy parent in my opinion.”
‘You play a role in this,” he insisted. “We all play a role in this.”
Shultz questioned why the “freedom of speech” enshrined in the First Amendment to the Constitution which protects the right of game makers to make and sell products like Grand Theft Auto 5 is not an unlimited right.
“When did the First Amendment and responsibility part ways?” he asked. “If you think as a parent this is good for your kid, you’re wrong. It’s not.”
“Oh, by the way, the guy that did the shooting yesterday – he was a big fan of this kind of stuff,” Schultz added.

A Puzzled Ed Schultz Marvels: 'It Amazes Me That People Don't Love Obama'

A perplexed Ed Schultz on Friday couldn't fathom why Americans have failed to "love Obama." The MSNBC anchor highlighted a new poll showing that the President only has a 45 percent approval rating. Schultz marveled, "I just cannot believe this number. Seriously."
The confused host sputtered, "It amazes me that people don't love Obama...It just amazes me he can't get above 50 percent when it comes to a favorable view of the economy." [MP3 audio here. See video below.] Schultz also took time to trash Ronald Reagan, the man who won 49 states in his 1984 reelection bid.
Schultz tried to convince his viewers that the economy is in fantastic shape. Perhaps it's headlines such as this one from the liberal New York Times that are stopping Americans from truly "loving" Obama: "Many Rival Nations Surge Past the U.S. in Adding New Jobs."
Times writer Nelson Schwartz in June wrote:
[C]ontrary to the widespread view that the United States is an island of relative prosperity in a global sea of economic torpor, employment in several other nations has bounced back more quickly, according to a new analysis by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Ed Schultz: The “spite in conservative hearts” for Obama is the “only reason they are against war for the first time, ever”

The intellectualism. The nuance. The insight. It’s overwhelming me
Isn’t this an interesting collection of folks right here. What does it take to get a Republican to be against an airstrike? What does it take a Republican to be against a war or confrontation? Correct me if I’m wrong, folks, you can do it on Twitter — don’t the Republicans always run on the foreign policy that they are the experts? That the Democrats are weak, and that they are the ones that are so concerned about America’s security? You know, as the evidence comes in about the use of chemical weapons, how can they oppose the president? And a growing number of far right-wing Republicans are coming out and opposing an airstrike on Syria? Believe it or not, the righties like Rick Santorum and Marco Rubio and Michele Bachmann. And then, of course, there’s Donald Rumsfeld, Mr. Expert. They are saying no to an airstrike on Syria — and I agree with them. But for, of course, completely different reasons folks. The Republicans, they don’t hate war. They hate this guy: Barack Hussein Obama. They just cannot stomach the fact that they might be agreeing with him, ’cause they’d have a lot of trouble back home. They have fought this president, obstructed this president, their whole focus is to make him a failure. How in the world can they support him on going up against Syria? The level of spite in conservative hearts for this president is the only reason they are against war for the first time ever.
Yes, because as all of us here know, Republicans are unabashedly for war in and of itself, and not actually for the long-term goals and careful military reasoning behind war (which, by the way, the president is very much lacking in this case). Duh.
