This morning while sitting in the Palm Beach International Airport awaiting my flight, I had an interesting thought about how common core math explains Obamacare.

As I understand it, common core math is not based on a student getting a correct answer, but just showing how they got an answer. Remind me never to cross a bridge built by an engineer trained using common core math. With common core math, if you can show how you came up with 12×10=100 you can pass — of course you will have difficulty with simple fiscal tasks, but then again common core math is ready-made for liberal progressives.

And that leads me to the symbiotic relationship between common core math and Obamacare. Yesterday President Obama stood before his darling little angels of Organizing for America — after all they are doing god’s work, freaking unreal. Obama was just ecstatic telling the gathering of mindless lemmings that due to their efforts they have 4 million signed up for Obamacare.

Ok, here is where common core math steps in. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is on record stating that the goal for Obamacare signups by end of March was 7 million — oh yeah, she tried to say that number came from the Congressional Budget Office. I guess another part of common core is that lying equals the truth.

Of course, we have no way of knowing who has actually signed up or even paid — a minor detail indeed. But get this equation, the goal was 7 million, but due to the Obamacare rule, some 6 million Americans lost their healthcare insurance coverage as of October first as they were not compliant with the “law’s” standards. So actually, that put Obamacare in the hole for 13 million.

President Obama in one of his patented “I can change a law all by myself” moments, in December ruled that those previous “junk policies” were now ok and demanded they be restored. So how many of those 6 million have been restored Mr. President?

So for all your little cherubim in Organizing for America, that 4 million number is about as empty and worthless as the MP3 full of speeches you gave to Queen Elizabeth. That number is reflective of someone who achieved an “A” in common core math.

So back to my trip – I’m traveling to Georgia today to speak at two County GOP events in Lee and Muscogee. I am truly excited to be going back to South Georgia where I have so many fond memories as a kid.

After landing in Atlanta I will head down I-75 and will trek through Peach County (Ft. Valley) where my Mom grew up attended Ft. Valley State College (now University) and the resting place of my maternal Grandad. I am looking forward to getting some “real” pecan pie (pronounced PEE-can). Friday evening I will be over in Columbus Georgia — last time there I was blasting from C-130 aircraft as an Airborne and Jumpmaster School student at Ft. Benning back in 1984.

One good thing about being back down in South Georgia, they can sense bovine excrement, and the smell emanating from 1600 Pennsylvania is rather pungent.

Thanksgiving 2013: ObamaCare Talking Point Survival Guide

Friends, I know, it's Thanksgiving, and the last thing you want to hear from your tongue-pierced Anthropology major nephew is how unbelievably fantabulous ObamaCare is. Grandma's stuffing is out of this world, to be cherished -- no, worshipped; yet the White House, via Organizing For Action, is encouraging the Zombie Faithful to shanghai dinner. 

So we must respond.  How?  Well, first, you might seize Billy's plate, and every time he mounts the Obama Flag, take something off it -- redistribute! -- so that by the time he's done, the plate is empty, vacuous -- like his head.

Play on instinct -- whatever seems right.  But, of course, you may engage him intellectually.... *cough* .... and if you choose this path you are not only brave, you're in the right place!  Keep reading.  Below lies the distribution of knowledge and, with hope of redistribution, the refutation of Billy:

OFA Talking Point #1: Healthcare.gov has had difficulties but the state exchanges are working well.

Rebuttal: HA-HA-HA.... Like Oregon?  They spent $45 million, give or take a million - who's counting? -- and signed up the same number of people clamoring to see Michelle on the cover of Sports Illustrated in a thong.  The states are signing up Medicaid enrollees, at a 4:1 ratio, a fiscal time-bomb that will ravage their budgets and lead to LESS care for those supposedly "covered."

OFA Talking Point #2: The website's problem is demand and once the front-end problems are fixed, it will work.

Rebuttal: HA-HA-HA.... Healthcare.gov project manager, Henry Chao, told Congress last week that 40% of the website isn't even built -- there's NO payment system set up.  Are you majoring in Comedy?

OFA Talking Point #3: Only a few young and healthy people will pay more -- for most people, they will keep their plans, or have something better.

Rebuttal: HA-HA-HA.... Costs are going through the roof in 41 states, and the other nine are treading water.  Five-million people have already lost their plans, with tens of millions - and next year as many as 100 million -- to lose their plan and their doctor, when both group and individual markets are forced into compliance with ObamaCare mandates.

OFA Talking Point #4: The pre-ObamaCare health insurance market was a "free market" full of junk plans, which screwed people over and dropped their insurance when they got sick.

Rebuttal: HA-HA-HA.... Who feeds you this garbage?  Prior to ObamaCare, 87% of Americans reported a high level of satisfaction with their insurance, and, indeed, 85% had insurance.  These plans were not, by law, able to drop coverage for "sick" people -- and by the way, did you know that Medicare denies more coverage -- by a greater than 2:1 ratio -- than private insurers?

WHITE HOUSE SLAM GOP'S FOOD STAMP REFORMS IN THANKSGIVING MESSAGE

On Wednesday, President Barack Obama's White House politicized Thanksgiving to promote the reauthorization of the SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) or "food stamps" as part of the farm bill at a time when a record number of Americans are receiving assistance. 

In an email, the White House urged Americans sitting down for Thanksgiving Dinner to remember: "For decades, Congress has authorized SNAP in a bipartisan fashion through the Farm Bill. They don't have to do it in a way that hurts children, seniors, veterans, and vulnerable families. Learn more, and pass it on."

The White House linked to a report about how SNAP is boosting the economy and accused Republicans of undermining the program's reauthorization. 

Congress could not agree on a bipartisan farm bill because Democrats would not agree to make reforms to SNAP. Robert Rector, the godfather of the landmark welfare reform bill in the 1990s, has suggested the food stamp program be reformed by moving the program from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Health and Human Services, because "the food stamp program is a means-tested welfare or anti-poverty program, not an agricultural program," and "the USDA’s expertise is in farming, not welfare."

He has also recommended means-testing, anti-fraud measures, drug testing, and converting the program to a "work activation" program while ensuring benefits do not go to illegal immigrants. 

As Breitbart News has reported, food stamp enrollments "have remained over 47 million for an unprecedented 13 consecutive months." And that number has indeed benefited a certain sector of the economy. As the nonpartisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI) discovered, corporations are also incentivized to pressure the government to maximize the number of people on food stamps because of the profits companies like J.P. Morgan make from EBT card transaction fees. 

The program also has been riddled with fraud, and those with EBT cards have often offered to sell them for cash on social media sites like Twitter.

Loathe peaceful holidays? Detest the spirit of agreeableness and good will that tends to pervade during this time of year? Well, if you're longing for it to be 'tis the season of debates, irritations, and shouting matches, you're in luck: The Obama administration thinks the holidays are the perfect time to gather round and discuss … Obamacare.

COLUMN: No, Oprah, America isn't racist

Wary about the effect bringing up the most polarizing political topic among your relatives and friends who likely span the blue-purple-red spectrum will have? Don't be, because President Barack Obama's Organizing for Action haslaunched a website with helpful tips about how to have "the talk." (Here's my first tip: If any adolescents or preteens are present, you might want to use a different phrase than "the talk" when broaching the subject if you don't want an instant exodus.)

The tips including asking your family and guests coming over for the holiday to bring the information they'd need to sign up for Obamacare, because it's absolutely not awkward at all to tell someone you'd like him to bring wine and oh, his social security number and annual salary, too. You're advised to bring up Obamacare during "family time … downtime after meals or between holiday activities." Perfect: When your family is curled up in chairs in a turkey/stuffing/pumpkin pie-induced stupor, you can cut off the idle reminisces about bygone days and football and kids saying the cutest things, and launch that super festive health-care conversation that's sure to have everyone bursting into a rollicking round of kumbaya, despite that pesky little fact thatpoll after poll shows the country is sharply divided on this issue.

Good news: Bloomberg’s gun-control group offering printable placemats for Thanksgiving dinner

More or less annoying than the Thanksgiving ObamaCare talking points from OFA? I’m going to say “more,” not because of the subject matter but because the thought of sitting down to eat after a lecture about health insurance only to find more leftist propaganda staring back at me might make me flip the table. Simple request for America’s O-bots this week: Choose. You can either encourage me to throw my money away on an ObamaCare plan I can’t afford or convince me to give up my gun because that’ll reduce the odds of another mass shooting by one one-hundred-millionth or whatever. Thanksgiving is a day for indulgence, but only within reason.

Question: Given that so many liberal activists have decided that Thursday is a day for Raising Awareness, is it worth shifting to a preemption strategy? All I want to do is watch football and eat but that kind of passivity might land me in the audience for some twentysomething cousin’s 45-minute meditation on how “if you like your plan” wasn’t technically a lie. Maybe the only solution is to prepare a list of topics and start running through it as soon as the guests’ coats are off. Baseball’s new instant-replay rule, the terribleness of “Homeland,” America’s awakening to the fact that Chinese-food cartons are supposed to be opened and used as plates — there’s no shortage of ways to play conversational keep-away from the earnest young liberal who read this awesome Ezra Klein post the other day about enrollment targets that he wants to tell you about. Be proactive. And take comfort in the fact that, come next Thanksgiving, lefties will be looking to play their own game of conversational keep-away.

Thankful For…Obamacare?: Obama’s Campaign Group Pushing Turkey Table Talking Points For Families

There is virtually nothing that the Left isn't willing to politicize, and that includes holidays. Obama's Organizing for America is trying to make ObamaCare a part of your Thanksgiving celebration. They are encouraging Americans to discuss ObamaCare talking points around the dinner table.

There's no doubt that ObamaCare may be a point of discussion amongst families, but not for the reason Obama propagandists would like. Millions of Americans are facing the prospect of lost coverage, losing their doctors or re-working their budgets to account for the increased price of premiums. Americans may be consuming turkey this Thanksgiving, but they aren't buying OFA's ObamaCare baloney.

Do have any idea where the president is right now? He is out West, in Hollywood and elsewhere, fundraising for Democrats. With all of the troubles he is facing and a new self-imposed ObamaCare deadline looming, it's a bit absurd that this is what the president has time for. Remember last week when he couldn't attend a commemoration for the 150th anniversary for the Gettysburg address? Obama finds time for what is convenient and what he wants to do, but not necessarily for what is always best for the country.

Obama's trip out West is nothing more than an attempt to distract from the real failures of his administration. If you'll notice, he's still trying (and failing) to push immigration reform to the forefront of the conversation. The Hill points out the White House has apparently attempted to pivot – for the fifth time this year – to the economy. It notes that this is a transparent attempt to shift the focus from ObamaCare and the disastrous rollout of the exchanges.

Morose Obama asks his base for psychological intervention

A downbeat President Barack Obama repeatedly asked his worried supporters Monday night to help resurrect his spirits, following weeks of political disasters and personal humiliations caused by the cascading collapse of Obamacare. The distracted president railed against opponents and at one point appeared to forget the number of people in the Obamacare system during the rambling quarter-hour address.

“My main message is I’m going to need your help, your energy, your faith, your ability to reach out to neighbors, kids and friends [and] co-workers,” he told listeners to the Internet broadcast arranged by his grassroots group, Organizing for Action.

But his worried followers would also benefit from proselytizing for Obama and Obamacare, Obama suggested.

“I’ve never lost faith in our ability to get this done… you guys have lifted me up, and lifted each other up at every step of the way, and I know you’re going to just keep on doing that,” he said during his 14-minute sermon.

‘We have experienced discouragement and setbacks and naysayers every step of the way, but you know when you’re on the right side of something, then it gives you energy, it gives you motivation,” he said.

“All the people out there who need help, everybody out there who is working hard but just finding that the system kinda feels rigged against him… that’s got to motivate us,” he said.

During his monologue, he made a mistake that illustrates the strain he’s facing while trying to save his Obamacare network.

“In the first month alone, we’ve seen more than 100 million Americans already successfully enroll in the new insurance plans,” he said, inaccurately referring to the 106,000 Americans who managed to pick a health-benefit plan via the cripple website.

D.C.-Based Health Care Exchange May Have Engaged in Illegal Political Activity

A former chief White House ethics lawyer has filed a Hatch Act complaint against a D.C.-based health care exchange, alleging that its online communications with liberal activist group Organizing for Action (OFA) violated rules against federal political activity.

Richard Painter, who served as the chief ethics counsel under President George W. Bush, requested a federal investigation into DC Health Link in a Nov. 13 letter to the Office of Special Counsel’s Carolyn Lerner.

Painter says DC Health Link appears to be subject to the Hatch Act, which limits political activity by federal employees, because the health exchange was created by the D.C. government and is acting on its behalf. He noted that the exchange may have violated the Hatch Act after it promoted OFA’s pro-Obamacare activism on Twitter.

Painter said DC Health Link may have also violated the Hatch Act by “following” OFA’s D.C. twitter account and retweeting one of its messages on Nov. 8.

The Office of Special Counsel determined that federal agencies cannot “friend,” “like,” or “follow” political parties, partisan political campaigns or partisan political groups on social media platforms. Agencies are also restricted to posting content that is related to official business and politically neutral.

“The communications that I believe violated the Hatch Act were made on Twitter and all relate to Organizing for Action (“OFA”), formerly known as Organizing for America, an organization the [Office of Special Counsel] has specifically identified as a ‘partisan political group,’” wrote Painter.

Loyal Obama Supporters, Canceled by Obamacare

San Francisco architect Lee Hammack says he and his wife, JoEllen Brothers, are “cradle Democrats.” They have donated to the liberal group Organizing for America and worked the phone banks a year ago for President Obama’s re-election.

Since 1995, Hammack and Brothers have received their health coverage from Kaiser Permanente, where Brothers worked until 2009 as a dietician and diabetes educator. “We’ve both been in very good health all of our lives – exercise, don’t smoke, drink lightly, healthy weight, no health issues, and so on,” Hammack told me.

The couple — Lee, 60, and JoEllen, 59 — have been paying $550 a month for their health coverage — a plan that offers solid coverage, not one of the skimpy plans Obama has criticized. But recently, Kaiser informed them the plan would be canceled at the end of the year because it did not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. The couple would need to find another one. The cost would be around double what they pay now, but the benefits would be worse.

“From all of the sob stories I’ve heard and read, ours is the most extreme,” Lee told me in an email last week.

I’ve been skeptical about media stories featuring those who claimed they would be worse off because their insurance policies were being canceled on account of the ACA. In many cases, it turns out, the consumers could have found cheaper coverage through the new health insurance marketplaces, or their plans weren’t very good to begin with. Some didn’t know they could qualify for subsidies that would lower their insurance premiums.

OFA Raising Money Off the Obamacare Website Failure

President Obama’s political arm, Organizing for Action, is using the uproar over the failed Obamacare website to raise money.

In a message to its vast email list, OFA notes the “debate” over Obamacare and alludes to criticism to the website, asking recipients to take a brief “Obamacare survey.”

The missive states:

In the midst of all of the debate around Obamacare, it’s easy to lose sight of what the law really does — and how millions of Americans are already seeing the benefits.

That’s why we want to hear directly from you about your health care experience.

This is super easy, and should only take a minute or two. Answer our short Obamacare survey today.

No matter what you hear from the talking heads, health care reform is much more than just a website.

A link takes the email recipient to the poll, a thoroughly unscientific five questions such as “How well would you say you understand Obamacare?” and “Do you currently have health insurance?” Once the poll is submitted – whether the questions are completed or not – the recipient is taken to what appears to be the real business at hand: a new page with a solicitation for $15-$1,000 or some “other amount.”

President Obama's campaign group polling supporters on Obamacare

President Obama's campaign organization is polling its own supporters on the Affordable Care Act, asking them to answer a series of questions that appear designed to gauge their opinion of the rollout of the law and what they're hearing from friends and family.

In an email, Organizing For Action, formerly Obama For America, tells supporters that “it's easy to lose sight of what the law really does — and how millions of Americans are already seeing the benefits.” Supporters are then asked to click a link that takes them to five short survey questions. The poll also asks respondents to relay “what questions are you hearing about the new marketplace or other parts of Obamacare?”

Questions poised to supporters of Organizing For Action:

How well would you say you understand Obamacare?

o you currently have health insurance?

Have you, your family, or your friends enrolled through the new health insurance marketplace that opened Oct. 1?
