Welcome to Hillary Island, a Pleasant Little Police State

For the first big speech of her 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton turned a little-known strip of New York into a serene summertime autocracy, pleasant and creepy at the same time.
It’s an odd sensation to be sitting on the back of a golf cart, holding on for dear life, as a member of Hillary Clinton’s security team—bald and meat-headed, his blazer straining to remain stitched around his bulky arms—speeds like O.J. Simpson in order to deliver you to a secure location. This can happen, I now know, if you happen to make the mistake of walking down the wrong pathway—of a public park—on your way to a Clinton speech.
“Get in!” he barked. Then, a sigh: “Not your fault.” That’s just the way things are around here.
Here would be Hillary Island—formerly Roosevelt Island—a strip of land located in the middle of the East River between Manhattan and Queens that some 10,000 New Yorkers call home. More specifically, here is Four Freedoms Park—a grassy island enclave named for the Four Freedoms FDR spelled out in his 1941 State of the Union speech: Freedom of speech, of worship, from the want, and from fear—where the Clinton team has assembled a red and blue stage, in the shape of an H, for her to pace on as she delivers her first major campaign speech.
Clinton formally declared her candidacy for the Democratic nomination almost exactly a month ago, in April, with a 2:15 video. “Everyday Americans need a champion,” she said then. “And I wanna be that champion.”
Since that time, Clinton has not been heard from much as she has traveled around, talking to some voters and ignoring questions from the media and trying to seem as normal as possible despite being anything but. Saturday’s event was designed to highlight her champion-ness by contrasting her with the New Deal Democrat, whose Four Freedoms she has attempted to mimic with her own “Four Fights,” the economy, families, campaign finance and national security.
Saturday’s event, according according to The New York Timeswas organized by a small group of Clinton insiders including Huma Abedin, Clinton’s longtime aide and the vice chair of her campaign and Jim Margolis, who helped orchestrate both inaugurations for President Obama.
The result felt borderline dystopian.

Hillary Campaign Launch Features Staffer That Said ‘F U Republicans’

A top Hillary Clinton campaign official addressed potential volunteers at Clinton’s Roosevelt Island campaign launch event Saturday, despite his verifiable hatred of Republicans and membership in an anti-GOP “mafia.”
Marlon Marshall, director of political engagement for the Clinton campaign, spoke at the rally where he discussed volunteer sign up numbers and pro-Hillary house parties underway in key early states. Marshall previously served as President Obama’s deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, a baldly political agency overseen by senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.
Despite Marshall’s prominent role in the Clinton campaign, his history makes clear his angry, partisan sentiments.
“F U Republicans. Mafia till I die,” Marshall wrote in an email on a private listserv for “The Mook Mafia,” a group of Clinton-world operatives led by 2008 Clinton staffer Robby Mook, who was gunning to be campaign manager for Hillary’s 2016 bid. Mook, a close friend of Marshall, still got the campaign manager gig after his secret emails were leaked. And Marshall’s “F U” to Republicans didn’t stop him from finding employment with Hillary 2016.
Former figure skater and Clinton supporter Michelle Kwan tweeted out a photo of Marshall’s kickoff speech at Clinton’s Roosevelt Island rally.
The Clinton campaign seems to be operating in line with Marshall’s feelings already. Three Republican National Committee staffers were followed and nearly ejected from the Roosevelt Island event until they switched their anti-Hillary T-shirts inside out.

DESPITE EMPTY VIEWING AREAS, HILLARY CLINTON RELAUNCH DRAWS 5,000 PEOPLE

NEW YORK CITY, New York – Hillary Rodham Clinton’s re-launch went off without a hitch with roughly 5,000 people, according to the New York Times, which credits the official count to her campaign.

The crowd packed into an area on Roosevelt Island in New York City to hear the likely Democratic 2016 candidate speak and lay out the next phase of her campaign.
Although there were roughly two areas fenced off for extra crowd viewing areas, more people packed in to see Clinton than did to see the seven GOP presidential candidates last weekend in Iowa at
Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA)

’s Roast and Ride.

There was one almost empty area behind the press gallery with a large jumbotron airing Clinton’s speech.

Breitbart News spotted another viewing area that was completely empty farther back – with loudspeakers, but no jumbotron.
Despite the empty areas, the large turnout showed Clinton still appears to be a strong contender despite the scandals (Benghazi, private email server, Clinton Cash) – to name a few – that trail her campaign.
“I’ve been called many things by many people, quitter is not one of them,’’ she said to her audience.

Clinton Re-Launch-Campaign Kickoff Speech (The First time was not painful enough)

Hillary Clinton delivered her official campaign launch speech on New York City’s Roosevelt Island. She talked about her personal story and how it guides her fight for everyday Americans, and she outlined her guiding principle that the true measure of America’s success shouldn’t be how those at the top are doing, but how all American families are doing.

Thank you! Oh, thank you all! Thank you so very, very much. (Cheers, applause.)
It is wonderful to be here with all of you.

To be in New York (cheers) with my family, with so many friends, including many New Yorkers who gave me the honor of serving them in the Senate for eight years. (Cheers, applause.)

To be right across the water from the headquarters of the United Nations, where I represented our country many times. (Cheers, applause.)

To be here in this beautiful park dedicated to Franklin Roosevelt’s enduring vision of America, the nation we want to be.

And in a place… with absolutely no ceilings. (Cheers, applause.)

You know, President Roosevelt’s Four Freedoms are a testament to our nation’s unmatched aspirations and a reminder of our unfinished work at home and abroad. His legacy lifted up a nation and inspired presidents who followed. One is the man I served as Secretary of State, Barack Obama, (cheers, applause) and another is my husband, Bill Clinton. (Cheers, applause.)

Two Democrats guided by the -- (cheering) Oh, that will make him so happy. They were and are two Democrats guided by the fundamental American belief that real and lasting prosperity must be built by all and shared by all. (Cheers, applause.)

President Roosevelt called on every American to do his or her part, and every American answered. He said there’s no mystery about what it takes to build a strong and prosperous America: “Equality of opportunity… Jobs for those who can work… Security for those who need it… The ending of special privilege for the few…(cheers, applause.) The preservation of civil liberties for all… (cheers, applause) a wider and constantly rising standard of living.”

That still sounds good to me. (Cheers, applause.)

Hillary embarrassing herself with Roosevelt Island 're-launch' tomorrow

Hillary Clinton's campaign comprises a bunch of clueless dolts, who don't understand symbolism at all.  The choices they have made for tomorrow's event intended to bolster a flailing effort are only digging her hole deeper.
It will be far, far more difficult to attend Hillary Clinton’s campaign “re-launch” tomorrow than to vote for her, if she gets her way on voting.  Daniel Halper of The Weekly Standard highlights an e-mail sent out by Hillary for America:
There will be airport style security. Items that will NOT BE permitted include food, liquids other than water, large bags, large purses, backpacks, strollers, umbrellas, noise makers, bullhorns, posters, signs, pets other than licensed service animals, sharp objects, or weapons.
When her personal safety is at issue, she demands advance registration and a ticket and photo ID.  But when the fate of the nation hangs in the balance with a presidential election, she wants people to be able to waltz into a polling station, claim to be someone, and vote with no questions asked and definitely no photo ID.  And she’d like weeks to be allowed to do so, in case you want to vote a hundred times using the names of deceased residents who haven’t been purged from the voters’ register.

But that’s just the beginning of the embarrassment.  The entire concept of a re-launch suggest that the campaign has been a failure.  I am most familiar with the concept of re-launch from television programs featuring celebrity chefs like Gordon Ramsay of Kitchen Nightmares and Robert Irvine of Restaurant Impossible, who go into failing eateries, clean up the kitchens, motivate the staff, redecorate the dining area, and teach the kitchen staff to cook new and more appealing items.  Despite all the aid and the re-launch, investigators claim that most of the restaurants end up failing.

Can we just call Hillary for America “Campaign Nightmares” or “Campaign Impossible”?

‘Tone-deaf’ Clinton campaign throws kids off playground

Hillary Clinton’s campaign didn’t pick the best time to stage a major campaign rally at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island later this month.
According to the park’s website, a specially planned event for tots called Imagination Playground — which features unique blue building blocks — has been canceled to accommodate the Democratic front-runner for president.
Also at risk of major inconvenience: an annual celebration called Roosevelt Island Day, which features a blood drive, hot dog stands and free rides for kids.
“It’s going to be horrendous logistically,” said Sherie Helstien, vice president of the island’s community association, who noted that her community has just one main road.
“I think the campaign should have reached out to the community representatives of 14,000 people — absolutely,” fumed Matthew Katz, former president of the association, and husband of Helstien.
He says residents received no notice from the Clinton camp.
“We are not just a memorial and a park. We’re a thriving community of 14,000 people. It’s just tone-deaf to ignore that,” he added.
Katz, who voted for Clinton and even knocked on doors for her in Pennsylvania, said he was concerned that added security could harm the 18th annual island festival, which has been in the works for months.

HILLARY HAS PICKED THE PLACE WHERE SHE WILL EXPLAIN HER SOCIALIST AGENDA TO KILL THE UNITED STATES

So Hillary has finally picked out a place where she will give a big speech laying out her socialist agenda that will kill the United States:
POLITICO – The solemn memorial park at the southern tip of Roosevelt Island, Four Freedoms Park, will serve as the backdrop for Hillary Clinton’s first significant speech as a presidential candidate on June 13, when she is expected to lay out her vision for the future of the country and explain to voters why she is the right person to lead it there.
The park, designed by architect Louis Kahn and dedicated in 2012, honors the “four freedoms” Franklin D. Roosevelt outlined in his 1941 State of the Union address — freedom of speech, religion, freedom from want and freedom from fear. The symbolic backdrop won out over other potential sites for Clinton’s “vision” speech that were floated to the campaign by supporters, such as Seneca Falls, N.Y., the site of the first women’s rights convention in 1848.
In announcing the venue for the much-anticipated speech, the campaign emphasized Clinton’s long admiration of both Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. Clinton is expected to be joined at the kick-off speech by her family, Chelsea and Bill Clinton. It won’t mark their first time there: Bill Clinton was one of the speakers at the 2012 dedication ceremony of the park.

After all, she has to try and become Elizabeth Warren so she’ll stay out of the race and she also has to compete with Bernie Sanders drawing huge overflow crowds at his latest campaign speeches:
