Obama to donors: You twits are unworthy of me

After delivering his diatribe statement on the Charleston, SC shootings, Obama jetted off to take care of the real business of the nation. He went to to a pair of Hollywood fundraisers. The first was at the home at the Pacific Palisades home of television producer Chuck Lorre (in fairness, the man did fire Charlie Sheen so he can’t be all bad). Then it was off to Beverly Hills mansion of celebrity Tyler Perry (full disclosure, I never heard of the man before today). It was at the Perry event that the good stuff happened. Obama blamed the 250 people shelling out from $2500 to $33,400 each for screwing up:
“When I ran in 2008, I in fact did not say I would fix it. I said we could fix it,” Obama told an audience of about 250 at a fundraising event here at the stately hillside home of film mogul Tyler Perry. “I didn’t say, ‘Yes, I can.’ I said, ‘Yes, we can.'”
The president continued: “If you’re dissatisfied that every few months we have a mass shooting in this country killing innocent people, then I need you to mobilize and organize a constituency that says this is not normal and we are going to change it.”
Okay. Fair enough. But if you’ve given tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars to this grifter you’d have the right to say, “I did my part, what did you do?” Now his fat cat donors have joined the rest of us in being blamed for everything that goes wrong. This is a great list of things Obama is not to blame for, unfortunately, ends in 2014:

In recent years we’ve allowed our alliance to drift. I know that there have been honest disagreements over policy, but we also know that there’s something more that has crept into our relationship.” “In America there’s a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world, instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive of you.” That’s Barack Obama, speaking in Europe at Strasbourg, blaming Bush for a failure to recognize Europe’s leading role in the world, April 3rd, 2009.
  • Obama Blames Bush for Deficits, February 23rd, 2009; Obama delivering opening remarks at fiscal responsibility summit.

  • Candidate Obama Blames Washington for High Gas Prices, April 25th, 2008; remarks of Senator Barack Obama, press availability on energy plan, 25 April 2008.
With those words ringing in their ears, the Lightworker hopped in his motorcade to continue taking care of the nation’s business:
Obama arrived here Thursday afternoon to kick off a four-day California trip during which he will attend four Democratic fundraisers in Los Angeles and San Francisco, speak to the U.S. Conference of Mayors and play golf in Palm Springs.

Pelosi-Obama Cold Front Moving Into California

On Friday, one of the Democratic Party’s most generous supporters may view up close what “climate change” looks like. That's when President Obama and Nancy Pelosi will be among those gathered at his home near San Francisco in support of House Democrats.
By anyone’s definition, putting Obama and Pelosi together under one roof to sing House Democrats’ praises a week after a messy intraparty rift over trade policy should be interesting.
Tom Steyer, a billionaire former hedge fund founder whose passion is combating climate change, is scheduled along with wife Kat Taylor to host a top-dollar fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at their home, where the president and the minority leader have replenished Democratic coffers many times before.
But on Tuesday, it was unclear whether the president and the liberal congresswoman from San Francisco were on speaking terms.
Scrambling to rescue his administration’s Asia-focused trade agenda, which Pelosi’s opposition helped torpedo on June 12, Obama spoke by phone several times with House Speaker John Boehner on Monday, but by Tuesday he had not touched base with Pelosi, according to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
“President Obama and Leader Pelosi have demonstrated that they have a strong enough personal and professional relationship to withstand a difference even on an important issue like this,” Earnest said.
Pelosi, in an interview with CNBC Tuesday, declined to describe her conversation with Obama before the climactic House votes tangled the trade trajectory. She spoke like a San Francisco congresswoman more than as a House Democratic leader when she said she wanted to “slow down” fast-track legislation that would have granted U.S. negotiators leverage to get a massive trans-Pacific trade pact completed.
“What you saw on the floor on Friday was an expression of concern of the American people. We are representatives. That is our title, and that is our job description. These are our constituents,” she told CNBC’s John Harwood.
“I'll take you with me to my district, we'll go to church, we'll go to a parade, any place, the dry cleaners. And you will be very surprised at how everyday people who are not connected to any organized organizations, who come up and say, ‘Don't vote for that.’”

Obama raises cash with Hollywood 'Friends'

President Obama will make up a postponed Hollywood fundraiser at the home of "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman later this month, according to a report in Variety
The $32,400-per-plate event to benefit the Democratic National Committee had originally been slated for early September. But the president was forced to scrap his trip to Los Angeles ahead of a congressional vote to authorize a military strike against Syria.
That vote was eventually postponed, after the Assad regime agreed to a deal that averted U.S. action in exchange for turning over its chemical weapons stockpile.
The glitzy roundtable discussion will take place at the home of "Friends" producer Marta Kauffman on the morning of Nov. 26.
The president will also appear at an event benefiting House Democrats the prior day at the Los Angeles home of NBA legend Magic Johnson. Tickets to that event range between $2,500 to $15,000 per person.
Later that day, Obama will attend a dinner at the home of Hollywood producer Haim Saban. Saban's company owns Spanish-language television channel Univison and produces children's television shows, including the popular "Power Rangers" franchise.
Tickets to that event start at $16,200 per person, or $32,400 per couple, according to the Hollywood trade publication.

Propaganda Minister Jay Carney: Being President “Restricts” Obama’s Ability To Campaign…

Reporter: At this point, the president has had to attend so many more fundraisers than, say, George W. Bush had during this point in his reelection campaign. Does that impact the president’s ability to do his day job?

Jay Carney: Well, it does not. It certainly is part of running for president and running for reelection. But as we’ve discussed here, it is a simple reality that even as he is a candidate for reelection, he continues to be president of the United States. And the demands of the job restrict his capacity, in some instances, to focus entirely on the campaign. He simply cannot do that. So he, and we, carefully allocate his time, working with the campaign, and when matters of state trump campaign requests for his time, that’s a fact that he has to live with and we have to live with because that is his primary responsibility.
