How Much Will Obamacare Coverage Cost?

As many Americans are losing their current health plans, they may be striking out on their own into Obamacare’s health insurance exchanges. (Or at least they will be, if the website ever starts working.)
Thanks to a new study from Heritage, you can quickly get a sense of the Obamacare prices hitting your state’s individual insurance market.
Heritage analyst Drew Gonshorowski is a step ahead. He took all the available data released thus far from the states and federal government and calculated the average premium change(per month) from buying health insurance in the non-group market to buying in the Obamacare exchanges.
Unsurprisingly, Obamacare brings increases across the board. The news is particularly bad for young people. In at least 11 states, the hike for a 27-year-old is more than 100 percent.
“Our findings confirm that younger populations see larger percentage increases in premiums,” Gonshorowski said. “A state that exhibits this clearly is Vermont, where the increase for 27-year-olds is 144 percent and the increase for 50-year-olds is still 60 percent, but far less. All states exhibit this relationship.”

SMILE! YOU’VE GOT SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE!

DoctorObamacare Navigators are being told to smile as they sell President Obama’s failed healthcare law to the public.  That’s according to a 217 page manual, the Health Insurance Marketplace Navigator Standard Operating Procedures Manual, released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Monday.  Will their pitch sound something like this?
We’re going to strangle you with regulations, smother you in bureaucracy, make it next to impossible for you to find full-time work, and intrude in the some of the most intimate decisions you’ll make in your life… But we’re smiling, so you should be happy about all of this!
Perhaps not.  But sadly, none of this is a joke.  The administration states:
Section 2.2.1 Smile –Maintain a Positive Demeanor
This is the most simple and most powerful tip for consumer assistance (and most interpersonal interactions). Smile. Smiles are contagious; usually when you smile at somebody they will smile back at you. Do not pretend to smile, or produce a false smile; these are easy to spot and send the wrong messages. Relax, gain eye-contact, and smile naturally. This will help consumers to feel at ease and welcomed. You will come across as friendly and approachable, setting the scene for positive interaction.
If you are talking to somebody on the telephone, you can still smile; your voice sounds different when you smile and are happy. Consumers are more likely to want to talk to a cheerful person with an enthusiastic personality and by smiling while you talk you can help to project this.
Section 2.2.6 tells the Navigators to “Be Memorable – For the Right Reasons.”
Try to make consumers’ experiences positive ones that they will remember and share with others.
Section 2.2.7 tells the Navigators to be thankful:
Kindness and gratitude can improve the quality of any relationship.

THE 4 W’S OF DEFUNDING OBAMACARE

Obamacare is a predictable failure because it is based on the idea that government manipulation and control of the health care system can improve outcomes for patients, reduce costs and increase choice.   It can’t, and it was only a matter of time before even Democratic support for the law began to erode.
The question is what Congress can do now given President Obama’s intransigence on the issue.  The answer is the total and complete defunding of Obamacare.  In Iowa, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)made the compelling case to do just that:
WHO has the power to make sure Obamacare is stopped in its tracks?  Our Senators andRepresentatives have the power to do so by defunding the law.  The Constitution grants Congress the “power of the purse.”  Through legislation, Congress can make certain the Obama administration is not given another dime to implement this disastrous law.  We must also keep the pressure on Congress and give them our support by making calls, using Twitter and Facebook, writing emails, and visiting offices.
