Obama’s Trickle–Down Lawlessness

What Sen. Ted Cruz (R–TX) refers to as Obama’s “pattern of lawlessness, his willingness to disregard the written law and instead enforce his own policies via executive fiat” has trickled down to the new Democrat administration in Virginia.

On Saturday, January 11th Democrat Mark Herring was sworn in as attorney general of the Commonwealth. During the ceremony Herring recited his oath of office: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent upon me as attorney general according to the best of my ability (so help me God).”

Then Herring proved he was a fast Obama study by violating that oath before he had completed his second week in office.

Then Herring compounded the offense by joining the case of the plaintiffs suing the state to overturn the ban. This is breathtakingly unethical. It’s like Zimmerman’s defense lawyer deciding George violated neighborhood watch guidelines and asking to join the prosecution team. An honorable man when presented with the choice of doing his job and defending the Constitution or “being on the right side of history” would have resigned his office, but we’re talking about Mark Herring.

By way of background the Virginia homosexual marriage ban is an amendment to the Constitution passed in 2006 by a favorable vote of 57 percent. Herring was in the Virginia Senate at the time and he voted in favor of the amendment. But you can’t hold that against him because he ‘evolved.’

But now Herring says he is relying on the precedent set by former AG Ken Cuccinelli. Except the situations are entirely different. Cuccinelli did not defend a newly passed law that allowed the state to take over failing schools, because it violated Virginia’s Constitution. Herring is saying the Constitution of Virginia is unconstitutional because it violates the Democrat party platform and makes Ellen DeGeneres sad.

Limbaugh Blasts GOP for Not Wanting Obamacare to ‘Hurt People’: ‘Why Not, If They Voted for It?’

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh tore into the “establishment” within the Republican Party on Monday for backing efforts to ease the pain that Americans are experiencing as a result of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Limbaugh wondered why the GOP is now attempting to save the American people from feeling the full effects of what they voted for.
Limbaugh began by introducing a clip of National Review editor Jonah Goldberg who, he said, “often times will tell you what the establishment thinks.”
Goldberg, appearing on Fox News Channel, responded to Limbaugh who had previously advocated for the GOP to take a hands-off approach to mitigating the pain felt by average Americans who are losing their health care plans as a result of the ACA. “That’s a hard political message for Republicans to sell,” Goldberg said.
Limbaugh said that this clip was telling in light of a “test” he was performing. “If I adopted the position of the establishment, I wanted to see what the establishment would do,” Limbaugh said. “It appears from this comment that there is no taste now for letting it implode because letting it implode would hurt people.”
“Why, a month ago, was it okay for it to implode and by definition cause pain and suffering happen?” Limbaugh asked. “Why were they ever in favor of this?”
“Is the establishment changing their opinion because I’ve agreed with them and they don’t want me on their side?” he asked.
Limbaugh went on to detail how the ACA implementation has devastated President Barack Obama’s approval ratings.
Limbaugh again asked why, if the GOP establishment was advocating for letting the ACA implode during the shutdown, they no longer think that is a viable option. “Now that it is imploding, it appears that there’s not the stomach for letting that happen,” Limbaugh asked. “Because the establishment thinks, ‘Well, it’s not a good lesson for the American people to have to suffer and be in great pain just to learn how bad Obamacare is.’ Why not, if they voted for it?”

Democrats grasping at straws to energize base on 2013 results

Democrats lost big in the New Jersey governor's race and barely won the Virginia gubernatorial contest, but that hasn't stopped them from claiming the 2013 election was a major victory for them.
And they’re taking some very big leaps to do so.
In an e-mail sent to subscribers this weekend, Democratic National Committee Communications Director Mo Elleithee wrote that “we defied some pretty big trends in this past election.”
Elleithee then lists four “big” trends that were broken; let’s take a look at each one separately.
1. “For the first time in almost four decades, the winning candidate in Virginia's governor's race is from the same party as the president.”
And? How is that a victory for the Democratic party?
Under both Republican and Democratic presidents, the state has elected a governor of the opposite party. With the host of issues that Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli was faced with (the government shutdown, current Gov. Bob McDonnell and weak fundraising), the fact that Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe won is not surprising.

Chris Wallace Tests Chris Christie’s Conservative Credentials

This is a rush transcript from "Fox News Sunday," November 10, 2013. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: I'm Chris Wallace.
Election 2013 is in the books, leaving Republicans convinced running against ObamaCare is the key to victory.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)
KEN CUCCINELLI, R-VA., ATTORNEY GENERAL: This race came down to the wire because of ObamaCare. That message will go out across America tonight.
WALLACE: In New Jersey, a landside victory for Republican Chris Christie.
GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE, R-N.J.: I did not seek a second term to do small things. I sought a second term to finish the job. Now, watch me do it.
WALLACE: We'll talk to Governor Christie about his reelection and whether he's now running for president.
Then, damage control over ObamaCare continues, as the president finally apologizes.
BARACK OBAMA, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me.
WALLACE: But is that enough -- after all the promises, if you like your plan, you can keep it?
We'll go outside the Beltway to hear from real people losing their coverage.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: They have increased the deductibles and sometimes increase the premiums as well.

ALL THE SINGLE LADIES

All the single ladiesEvery time a major election comes around, the conversation inevitably turns to the impact of female voters. There are more women in the world than men, and they vote in greater number, too. The trend hasn’t been good for the GOP. Single women are the blame, but is it their fault?
Most recently, the single, liberal lady phenomena took its toll on the state of Virginia, where Republican Ken Cuccinelli narrowly lost the governorship to Mr. Skeeze himself, Democrat Terry McAuliffe. TheWashington Post reports:
“Cuccinelli only lost female voters by nine points….Where Cuccinelli did get swamped, however, was among non-married women where he lost by a massive 42-point(!) margin, according to preliminary exit polling.”
So the hard right GOP doesn’t have a woman problem per say, but more specifically asingle woman problem. Case in point: “Cuccinelli beat McAuliffe 51-42 among women who are married.”
So why are conservative Republicans so repulsive to single women, and whose fault is it?
The idea that single women look to government to replace the men not in their lives is an old and logical one. These women might have Daddy issues, and that’s why they’re single. Or maybe the reason they’re single is because they’re looking for the wrong kind of man. Is this because he doesn’t exist in mainstream America?

2013 ELECTION DAY ROUND-UP

2013 Election Day round-upYesterday was Election Day in Virginia, Colorado, New Jersey, and New York. Here’s what happened:
In Virginia: Conservative Republican Ken Cuccinelli narrowly lost the governorship to liberal Democrat Terry McAuliffe by three points (45-48), despite McAuliffe, a Clinton darling, outspending his GOP challenger by $15 million. Cuccinelli was able to make major strides in the last week of the campaign (when he was behind by double digits in almost every poll) by appealing to voters who hate Obamacare. Robert Sarvis, the Libertarian in Name Only, garnered six percent of the vote.
In Colorado: Voters in Colorado strongly approved a hefty 25 percent state tax on recreational marijuana, but soundly rejected a ballot measure (66 percent) to raise income taxes to fund education.
In New Jersey: Republican Chris Christie, as predicted, was the big winner again in his state, defeating Democrat Barbara Buono easily (60-38 percent) for a second term as governor of the Garden State. The New York Times reports Christie’s victory a victory has “vaulted him to the front ranks of Republican presidential contenders and made him his party’s foremost proponent of pragmatism over ideology.”
In New York: Bill De Blasio won by a landslide in New York City and became the first Democrat since 1989 to become the Big Apple’s mayor. He celebrated his victory byperforming a “smackdown” dance on stage to pop singer Lorde’s song, “Royals.” De Blasio, who has already announced his intentions to raise taxes on the city’s wealthiest and usher in a new era of extreme liberalism, defeated Republican Joe Lhota 73-24 percent.
*Also of note is the fact that despite splitting election results in New Jersey and Virginia, Republicans outnumbered Democrats in total votes. A Washington Times analysis shows a clear advantage of turnout for the GOP.

Mac Wins Sandra Fluke Vote; Media Anoint Christie GOP Nominee

Crony businessman Terry McAuliffe rode a massive 70-22% margin among single women to a shockingly tiny victory over Ken Cuccinelli -- while Chris Christie has been declared the winner of the GOP Media Primary for the 2016 presidential nomination.  These are just a few of the fascinating developments from Virginia, New Jersey, and elsewhere last night.  Oddly, Fox News was not nearly as fascinated by any of it as were CNN and MSNBC -- that is, until Christie took to the podium at 10:15 eastern.
Meanwhile, the Republican establishment's expected victory dance on the grave of the Tea Party movement should be at least postponed, if not canceled -- and the Jurassic media's "move along, nothing to see here" attitude toward ObamaCare's nearly devastating impact on McAuliffe's campaign rang hollow and desperate across cable networks last night.
Oh, and while we're at it, let's not forget the game-changing significance that socially liberal faux libertarian Robert Sarvis had on the Virginia race.  For months, it was assumed he was hurting Ken Cuccinelli's campaign.  However, in the final weeks, as his liberal social positions became more evident, it appeared that he was perhaps pulling a lot of support from McAuliffe as well.  In the end, exit polls from yesterday prove that he did indeed hurt the Republican the most, validating the money Democrat bundlers put behind this campaign -- a captivating dynamic that saw the light of day just 24 hours ago.

CUCCINELLI, SARVIS COMBINE FOR 53% OF VOTE

Despite polls which showed Democrat Terry McAuliffe with a solid lead, it looks like he will eke to victory in the race for Virginia Governor. With 92% of the vote counted, he leads Republican Ken Cuccinelli, 46.8% to 46.5%. Libertarian Robert Sarvis garners 6.7% of the vote. Combined, the Republican and Libertarian get 53% of the vote. McAuliffe will be elected with 47% of the vote.

Just a few thousand votes separate McAuliffe and Cuccinelli. Sarvis received over 130,000 votes.
Cuccinelli, it should be noted, was out-spent at least 3-1 by McAuliffe. Outside Democrat groups amplified the funding disadvantage facing the Republican. By finally nationalizing the campaign and focusing on ObamaCare, however, he was able to come within a few thousand votes of winning. All in the face of a GOP Establishment that turned its back on him, a consultant class that misguided his campaign and GOP pundits and commentators who said for weeks he couldn't win.
Yes, the libertarian cost Cuccinelli votes. The campaign, however, bears some responsibility for allowing Sarvis to gain traction.
This was clearly a very winnable race, in spite of what people say about conservatives or the government shutdown. The GOP abandoned Cuccinelli. And, Virginians certainly didn't embrace Terry McAuliffe.

Cuccinelli Beat McAuliffe 51% to 42% Among Women—Who Are Married

Barack Obama and Terry McAuliffe(CNSNews.com) - Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe defeated Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia’s gubernatorial election on Tuesday 47.9 percent to 45.5 percent (with 6.6 percent going to Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis), even though McAuliffe lost among women—who are married.
According to the exit poll published by CNN, Cuccinelli defeated McAuliffe among married women 51 percent to 42 percent, with Sarvis taking 7 percent.
Cuccinelli also defeated McAuliffe among married men, 50 percent to 44 percent, with Sarvis taking 6 percent.
Thus, according to the exit poll, Cuccinelli was the clear victor among married people (defeating McAuliffe 50 percent to 43 percent among this demographic), and was slightly more popular among married women than among married men.
However, McAuliffe won a 62 percent to 29 percent landslide among unmarried Virginians.
The Democrat was especially popular with unmarried women, defeating Cuccinelli among that group 67 percent to 25 percent, with Sarvis taking 9 percent. Among unmarried men, McAuliffe bested Cuccinelli 58 percent to 33 percent, with Sarvis taking 9 percent.

**VA LIVE UPDATES** TEA PARTY: GOING TO BE 'VERY CLOSE'

Early reports from voters at two polling places in Virginia's gubernatorial election, one in Richmond and one in Lynchburg, indicate that as of 9:30 am eastern standard time, turnout has been just "a trickle."

A third report, from Rustburg in rural Campbell County, a conservative stronghold, indicates turnout is good there. At that location, Cuccinelli signs are highly visible and McAuliffe signs are not present.

Mark Levin: The RINOs Want A Terry McAuliffe Victory In Virginia

On the Monday broadcast of his radio program Mark Levin expounded on a Facebook entry he made earlier in the day:
The RINOs want a Terry McAuliffe victory in Virginia.

Many in the GOP establishment, from major fundraisers and consultants, to GOP officeholders such as the GOP Lt. Gov and mayor of Virginia Beach, have either trashed Attorney General Ken Cuccinnelli or endorsed McAuliffe outright. The GOP national machine has done next to nothing for Cuccinnelli. And GOP bag man, Karl Rove, is all over Fox without a word of support for Cuccinnelli, while he schemes and whispers behind the scenes against conservatives nationwide.

Having tried to sabotage Cuccinnelli's candidacy from the start, these GOP actors are hoping for a Cuccinnelli loss and a big Chris Christie win (built on a Huey Long style of politics) to make the case that only big government Republicans can win and limited government, constitutional conservatives, such as Tea Party activists, are too extreme to prevail. They've already written the script.

In fact, the GOP establishment's attacks on the Tea Party, which is an obvious assault on conservatives and conservatism generally, are increasingly difficult to distinguish from Obama and the Left's attacks on the same folks. The ruling class in Washington is clearly united in one respect: to wipe out conservative resistance to their corruption, cronyism, and nation-killing policies.

Keep an eye on RINO columnists like Washington Compost mouthpiece Jennifer Rubin, as well as Rove and other commentators on cable TV, who have and will continue to reveal it all through their myopic ruling class lenses in the days ahead. As I said, their propaganda is written and ready to spread. And they'll be given soap box after soap box to spin away.

Meanwhile, despite it all, including tens of millions of dollars in relentless leftwing smear ads funded by truly extreme groups hoping to beat Cuccinnelli and turn Virginia into Hillary Clinton territory in 2016, much of the big GOP money stays on the sidelines. Better to try to clear the field of conservatives who threaten the ruling class and its preferred nominees. Better to protect the RINO investment in big government than beat Hillary. The conservative grassroots is to be crushed and dispirited.

So, that's the game. Still, recent polls show Cuccinnelli closing fast. This makes the Left and RINOs very nervous. The rest of us are cheering, and hopefully helping, the underdog. We identify with him, not the sleazy McAuliffe, his radical donors, and the ruling class. We won't retreat. We won't give up. We will fight for the last vote. What a sweet victory it would be! But make no mistake, this is one of many, many battles to come, win, lose, or recount.
