Macy’s inundated with complaints from Donald Trump fans as 'tens of thousands of customers cut up their store cards in protest'

Macy's spat with Donald Trump seems to be costing the company dear - sources close to the department store say it is being inundated with complaints by customers.

Apparently the company has already received letters, phone calls and online messages from around 30,000 Trump supporters, many of whom have claimed to have cut up their store card.

The irate customers are accusing the company of being against free speech after it cut ties with the Republican presidential candidate two weeks ago over his inflammatory comments about Mexican immigrants.

Trump, who called for the boycott of Macy's, has been thanking his supporters over Twitter for doing just that.
'I am so happy that people are boycotting Macy's,' he said in a tweet yesterday.

In an earlier message he wrote: 'Thx [sic] to all the people who called to say they are cutting their Macy's credit card as a protest against illegal immigrants pouring into US.'

A Macy's spokesman told TMZ: 'Our Facebook page is often times used by our customers to express their feelings or points of view. Many times it does not correlate to any action.'

Trump began his tirade against Mexican immigrants when he announced on June 16 that he would be entering to race to become the Republican presidential candidate.

Trump tweeted this message a few days ago after calling for his supporters to shun Macy's

He said then: ‘When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.

‘I will built a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.’

Macy’s isn’t the only corporation to have severed ties with Trump. Mattress giant Serta, for instance, has said it will stop selling Trump-branded products, while Univision and Comcast’s NBCUniversal have cancelled plans to broadcast Trump’s Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Trump is suing Univision for $500million and has threatened legal action against NBC, among others.

[VIDEO] Fox Panelist Rips Trump: ‘Negotiate with Mexico? He Can’t Even Negotiate with Macy’s!’

Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign has given conservatives and Republicans lots of mixed feelings. But Fox’s Eric Bolling, at least, continues to be one of Trump’s biggest cable news defenders. On today’s Cashin’ In
Panelist Jonathan Hoenig, however, wasn’t quite on board. He told Bolling, “He’s not just a fool, but he’s a fraud… Negotiate with Mexico? He can’t even negotiate with Macy’s!”
And quite frankly, Bolling was the only one really defending Trump. Wayne Rogers said “if Trump can’t survive in the free market, that’s his problem,” while Michelle Fields said she’s not a Trump fan and that NBC probably did the right thing (even if they hypocritically embrace Al Sharpton and Brian Williams).

Bolling still defended Trump, arguing that he’s bringing “fresh new ideas” and is someone willing to stand up for America. Rogers pointed out that there are other candidates who fit that description already, while Hoenig made it abundantly clear he just really doesn’t like Trump.
Presidents, he said, don’t make over-the-top threats and don’t “alienate America’s major corporations.” Hoenig pointed out how Trump used to be a Democrat, and when Bolling talked about getting someone with a different kind of track record in the White House, Hoenig said, “Trump’s got a record of bankruptcy.”

Macy’s dumps Trump clothing line in response to immigration comments

Macy’s on Wednesday became the latest company to tell Donald Trump: “You’re fired.”
The retail giant announced it’ll phase out a specialty line of Trump products, after the real estate tycoon and presidential wannabe said too many law-breaking Mexicans are crossing the US border.
“We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation,” Macy’s statement reads.
“In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.”
There was no firm timetable of when all of Trump’s products would vanish from Macy’s shelves.
As of early Wednesday afternoon, there were still nearly 100 of Trump dress shirts, ties and accessories still for sale on the Macy’s website.
Dresses and shoes made under the label of his daughter, Ivanka Trump, are considered a separate line and will not by impacted by Wednesday’s announcement, according to a Macy’s rep.

Protesters To Target Macy’s Parade

Each year, millions of Americans consider the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade a vital part of their holiday celebration. For some on the perpetually offended left, however, it merely presents another opportunity for outrage.

An historic event that has long included festive floats and balloons depicting animals and other figures, a number of animal rights activists are up in arms over the likeness of Shamu the whale being included in the parade.

While the protesters decry the treatment of whales at theme parks such as SeaWorld, which is sponsoring the Shamu float, parade organizers are standing by their decision.

“There is no controversy,” Amy Kule explained. “Our goal is to entertain, and that is their goal, as well.”
The executive producer for the parade has dealt with significant backlash, including from frequently profane actor Alec Baldwin and his wife. The couple recently wrote that SeaWorld “should not be celebrated” with the inclusion of a float.

Activists are set to be present along the parade route next Thursday, though Macy’s is determined to stay clear of the controversy.
