Diners leave lesbian waitress anti-gay note instead of a tip

Customers at a New Jersey restaurant stiffed a server on a $93 bill. Not because of poor service but because their waitress is gay.

Instead of the customary 15%, Dayna Morales, a server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, said that a family she waited on Wednesday left another type of "tip."

"I'm sorry, but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life" was written on the receipt.

Morales told ABC News station WABC-TV that although she is openly gay, she never shared that with the customers.

A server off and on for 10 years, Morales said she greeted the patrons with the "normal introduction."
"'My name is Dayna. I'll be taking care of you,'" she said. "Right away the mom looked at me and said, 'I thought you were going to say your name was Dan.'"

Morales said she served the family its meals without further incident and was "offended" and "mad" to find what was left on the receipt.

"I didn't know how to react to that. I never thought that would ever happen," she said.

Morales on Wednesday posted a photo of the note on the Have a Gay Day Facebook page, where it's generated more than 3,000 comments.

Obama's disregard for experience and humility

marine_hats2.jpg
A change to the Marine Corps' uniform hats could leave hard-nosed Leathernecks looking a lot less macho.
According to the New York Post, President Obama's plan to create a "unisex" look for the Corps has officials on the verge of swapping out the Marines' iconic caps with a new hat that some have derided as so "girly" that they would make the French blush.
"We don't even have enough funding to buy bullets, and the DoD is pushing to spend $8 million on covers that look like women's hats!" one senior Marine source fumed to The Post. "The Marines deserve better. It makes them look ridiculous."
The thin new hats have a feminine line that some officials think would make them look just as good on female marines as on males - in keeping with the Obama directive.
They have been dubbed the "Dan Daly" hat, after a sergeant from Long Island who won the Medal of Honor in World War I.

Aaron Alexis, 34, is dead gunman in Navy Yard shooting, authorities say

The dead gunman in Monday’s shooting at the Washington Navy Yard is Aaron Alexis, 34, a Navy veteran who was discharged after he was arrested in a shooting incident—but was later hired by a government subcontractor.
Police said it was unclear if Alexis acted alone, or how he accessed the tightly guarded Navy Yard. As of Monday evening, authorities also are still searching for another person: a black man in his 40s with gray sideburns, wearing an olive-drab military-style uniform.
Alexis, a native of New York City, worked for a company called The Experts, a subcontractor to Hewlett Packard on a federal contract to work on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet network, according to a statement from Hewlett Packard. It was unclear if Alexis was still employed by that subcontractor, or if his work took him to the Navy Yard.
Alexis died at the scene of Monday’s shooting, in which at least 12 other people died. D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray said no motive is known.
By Monday afternoon, a portrait of Alexis had begun to emerge. He lived until recently in Fort Worth, where he was seen frequently at a Buddhist temple, meditating and helping out. He was pursuing a bachelor’s of science degree in aeronautics as an online student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
But Alexis also had been accused in at least two prior shooting incidents, one in Fort Worth and one in Seattle, according to police reports.
