Sarah Palin On ObamaCare, Washington Dysfunction And Martin Bashir Comments

In an exclusive Fox News Sunday interview, former Governor Sarah Palin addressed the comments made about her by Martin Bashir. After Palin compared America’s national debt to slavery, the MSNBC host said she should suffer the same punishment forced upon 18th century slaves.

Bashir later apologized, saying it was “wholly unacceptable” that he implied Palin should eat feces, but he has not been suspended or reprimanded by MSNBC. Meanwhile, his colleague Alec Baldwin had his show suspended for allegedly making a homophobic slur against a photographer.

Palin told Chris Wallace it’s hypocritical that Bashir hasn’t been suspended for his comments. “That’s the executive hypocrisy that’s so prevalent in the media elite bubble where it depends on the target of the vile rants. It doesn’t depend on what the rant itself actually is and conservative women are a target of them.”

[VIDEO] Conservative Writer Takes on Race-Obsessed MSNBC Contributor Michael Eric Dyson

During a discussion on the Martin Bashir program Wednesday, The Daily Caller's Matt Lewis decided he had simply had enough. Fellow panelist and Georgetown professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson was holding forth about how President Obama's political opposition was grounded not in criticism of his ideology or his (lack of) leadership but, you guessed it, racism.
Fed up with conservatives constantly being insulted on MSNBC as racist for opposing the president, Lewis interrupted Dyson and took him to task for refusing to deal with the actual merits of President Obama's policies and job approval, both of which are underwater in recent polls. To that, Dyson angrily shot back that Lewis was trying to cash in on his "white privilege" to "silence a black man" on the issue of race. [watch the video below the page break; listen to the MP3 audio here]

"Martin, are you going to call him out for that?" Lewis asked of Bashir, who, naturally, tut-tutted that Lewis should let Dyson finish his screed.
"Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt.... Please, please Matt, allow Professor Dyson to speak," Bashir pleaded.
"Oh, please, Matt?! What about please, Professor, who can't talk about anything other than race?!" Lewis retorted.
"I'm asking you to give him the courtesy of allowing [him] to express his point. You may dispute it, please allow him to speak," Bashir insisted.

MSNBC’s Dyson Accuses Matt Lewis of Exerting ‘White Privilege’ in Explosive Exchange

Daily Caller and The Week columnist Matt Lewis appeared on MSNBC with Martin Bashir on Wednesday to discuss the Affordable Care Act’s roll-out and the lack of Republican alternative proposals to replace that law. Within minutes, the debate exploded as Lewis was accused of appealing to “white privilege” by Georgetown University Professor Michael Eric Dyson.
Bashir began by playing a clip of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) being grilled over a lack of an alternative GOP plan to replace the ACA. Lewis defended Cruz, saying that he was effectively representing his base and playing a smart political game by not taking the media’s focus off of the presently failing ACA roll-out.
Lewis conceded, though, that Republicans need to coalesce around a single ACA alternative in the coming days. “It’s not enough to say ‘Obamacare’s bad,’” he insisted. “You have to have a solution.”
Bashir insisted that it is not just health care reform, but that the GOP routinely has no alternative to Democratic proposals on a host of issues.
Dyson insisted that this reflexive opposition from Republicans to President Barack Obama’s initiatives was, as Oprah Winfrey recently suggested, due to his skin color.
“It took ten minutes – ten minutes to get to the race issue,” Lewis interjected. The pair exploded over Lewis’ suggestion that race was an inappropriate topic of debate on this issue.
“Don’t deploy the very principles of white privilege to silence a black man on the panel because you don’t want to talk about race,” Dyson shot back.
Chaos ensued. “You can’t talk about policy,” Lewis declared. “The only thing you have to talk about is race.”
Lewis blew up at Bashir when he was asked to let Dyson finish his tonight. “Please allow him to speak,” Bashir insisted.
“The vast majority of Republicans are mindless and incapable of articulating a solid, serious, intellectual conception, or a political fix or remedy to the problem we have here,” Dyson insisted.
“This is a joke,” Lewis concluded.

MSNBC not saying whether Martin Bashir apology is enough

Martin BashirNEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC was not saying Tuesday whether disciplinary action is planned against show host Martin Bashir, who has apologized for "deeply offensive" comments he made about Sarah Palin.

In a commentary on Friday, Bashir called the former Alaska governor "America's resident dunce" and a "world class idiot," and suggested she be punished for remarks about slavery by having someone defecate in her mouth.

On Monday, Bashir said he deeply regretted what he said.

"I wanted to take this opportunity to say sorry to Mrs. Palin and offer an unreserved apology to her friends and family, our viewers and anyone else who might have heard what I said,"

said Bashir, who hosts an hour-long commentary program on the cable network's afternoon schedule.
Bashir's commentary came on the same day that MSNBC suspended Alec Baldwin's weekly talk show for two episodes after the actor was videotaped using an anti-gay slur against a photographer during a New York street encounter.

An MSNBC spokeswoman did not immediately respond to questions Tuesday about whether any further action was being contemplated against Bashir. The former ABC "Nightline" host was on the air for his show on Tuesday. A Fox News representative could not immediately reach Palin for comment.

Bashir had attacked Palin and her "long-diseased mind" after playing video of a speech where she compared the United States' potential indebtedness to China to slavery.

Bashir told the story of Thomas Thistlewood, a former overseer at a plantation who left detailed diaries that described his punishment of wayward slaves. In one case, Thistlewood ordered another slave to defecate in the mouth of the miscreant. In another case, someone urinated in the face of a slave who was being punished.

"When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn't just prove her rank ignorance, she confirms (that) if anyone truly qualifies for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate," he said.

Mark Levin Makes Mincemeat Out of Martin Bashir

MARK LEVIN: This guy -- what is his name? Martin Bashir -- if that is his name, Martin Bashir -- Friday closed his show with likely the most disgraceful rant against former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin you've ever heard. Hey tough guy, Martin Bashir, you like picking on women? You like picking on a mother and a grandmother? You a tough guy, pal? You strike me as not tough at all, if you get my drift. As a little puke, tough guy.
.
Besides calling her America's resident dunce and claiming she has a deceased mind, Bashir suggested that someone should defecate in her mouth and urinate in her eyes. And this is a long clip which I will not play because I don't want to disturb you folks about what goes on on this pathetic little carbon footprint called MSLSD.

Disgusting: Martin Bashir suggests someone should defecate in Palin’s mouth and urinate in her eyes

Sarah Palin said our children and their children will be enslaved to US debt when it finally comes due…in fact the word she used was ‘slavery’. Now we all know that slavery has more than one meaning and definitely and is completely understandable when used in that context.
But Martin Bashir decided that her use of the term slavery was so out of bounds that he read how a certain slave owner forced his other slaves to defecate in one slave’s mouth and piss in his eyes for something he had done, and said Sarah Palin deserved the same treatment. Really, I’m not kidding:

I just have no words to effectively communicate what I think about Bashir because every time I think of one it just doesn’t go far enough. He’s just, quite frankly, the must repulsive broadcaster that MSNBC has and he doesn’t even deserve a job as a pundit of any kind after this kind of attack.
But I’m sure MSNBC will turn the other cheek, because you know, it’s Sarah Palin.

‘Who’s the Whore Now?’ Bashir Gets In Explosive Argument With Tea Party Guest

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir got into a heated back-and-forth with tea party activist Larry Klayman on Friday over Klayman’s attacks on President Obama as a foreign-born Muslim whose foreign policies benefit America’s enemies at the expense of the United States and Israel. Klayman insisted he was being metaphorical when speaking about Obama, which set Bashir off even further.
Bashir first brought up Klayman’s book about political “whores” and asked him between Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell who the whore is. Klayman said it was McConnell, hands-down.
Things got way more heated when Bashir brought up a clip of Klayman saying Obama should leave town and “put the Qu’ran down,” asking him if he really believes Obama is a “foreign-born Muslims who has hoodwinked the entire nation.” Klayman argued his statements were “metaphoric,” “but they ring true” because Obama has done everything he can to harm the U.S. in the Middle East.
Bashir asked, “Was it the act of a rabble-rouser who tells lies in public just to incite the crowd? And I have to ask you, who’s the whore now?”
Klayman took a shot at MSNBC for, once again, using “cropped quotes,” and then Bashir asked this burning question.
“How would you defend yourself if accused of being a delusional racist whose hatred for this president is, in fact, a form of psychiatric pathology, an illness?”
