After an astonishingly quick vote, South Carolina’s lawmakers voted to remove the Confederate battle flag from its state house grounds. Republican Gov. Nikki Haley signed the removal into law on Thursday afternoon.

The one picture to which Obama and #blacklivesmatter never point

President Barack Obama, capitulating South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Al Sharpton and the rank and file of #blacklivesmatter seek to draw everyone’s attention to the wrong picture.

All of the above are pointing to the picture of the Confederate Flag, blaming it as the killer of nine innocent souls who came to pray at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church one week ago tomorrow.

As of today the Confederate Flag will be ripped down from its revered place on the grounds of the South Carolina State Capitol, and after 150 years, tossed into the dustbin of history.  It’s okay to display the Confederate Flag, in your private backyard, says Nikki.

But all who do will soon be openly branded with the racism Obama claims that comes with their DNA.

If any single picture is worthy of the gaze of freedom loving Americans, it should be the one painted by Colorado artist Dave Merrick,DaveMerrick.US, who, in essence, provided ‘The Defining Moment of the State of America’, back in 2012, three years before the Confederate Flag of the South became the politically chosen scapegoat of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church tragedy.

How is it possible that the 150-year-old Confederate flag that flies at the South Carolina Capitol tops alleged killer Dylann Roof as the main controversy in the tragedy?

Proving with talented artwork the plain-as-day truth in the age-old adage “a picture is worth a thousand words”, Merrick called his 2012 oil and acrylic painting, ‘The Price of CHANGE’.

Ben Carson in His Own Words

After five years of President Obama, we want a dynamic conservative candidate who we can believe in to take us to 2016. With names on the horizon like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal, and Nikki Haley, we have some promising politicians; and another name has risen to the top: Dr. Ben Carson.

Ben Carson is the latest potential presidential candidate to be anointed by conservatives. Less than a year after his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, the 61-year old neurosurgeon, known for his deeply held religious beliefs as well as his determination to live the American Dream, has gained support from many conservative organizations like the Tea Party, right-to-life groups, Americans for Prosperity, Freedom Works, and David Horowitz's Freedom Center .

Carson's post-election entrance onto the national stage at the 2013 Prayer Breakfast gave despondent conservatives new hope. The famous surgeon criticized the President's signature health law and mocked political correctness while the President sat stone faced. Carson's boldness made headlines from MSNBC to far-right alternative blogs.

The decidedly political speech, different from his 1997 Prayer Breakfast address, was a triumph and made him an instant hit with stalwarts on the right. Glenn Beck actually said "I love you" during an interview when Carson told him his favorite person in history was George Washington. Rush Limbaugh thinks Carson "has everybody in the Democrat Party scared to death." Mark Levin and Sarah Palin have lauded Carson on their sites.

Washington Builds a Bugaboo

How does Senator Ted Cruz tick off liberals? Let us count the ways.

Several times a day, especially if he’s out travelin’ and talkin’ to folks, as he always is when the U.S. Senate isn’t in session, Ted Cruz will stand before an audience and reflect, seemingly for the first time, about the generational shift taking place in the Republican party. 

Among that tiny fraction of Americans who are paying attention to such things, Cruz seems to be the only person who is forgetting Ted Cruz’s name. “I call them the Children of Reagan,” he says. He means the rising group of Republican officeholders who came to political consciousness during President Reagan’s two terms. He rattles off their names: “young leaders” like Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Nikki Haley, Mike Lee, Scott Walker .  .  . and then sometimes he’ll pause, letting you wonder if he’s leaving out any of the Children’s names. Sometimes a helpful fan in the audience will volunteer it, to general appreciation from the crowd.

“Americans who worry about democracy need to keep on this guy,” warned a reporter for the New Republic back in February. And no wonder! Skim the tweets or scan the blogs or, if you’re older than one of Reagan’s Children, read the actual newspapers, and you’ll soon discover that Ted Cruz is far more than the freshman senator from Texas, only eight months in office. He is also the “scary” “McCarthyite” “Taliban” “bully” and “bomb-thrower” known for his “extremism” and his “arrogant” and “nihilistic” “disregard of facts.” 

When you follow him around, however—for he is in constant motion, from Iowa to New Hampshire to every corner of Texas—this nasty fellow you’ve been reading about, the caricature Cruz, never appears. If “Ted Cruz” didn’t exist, professional Democrats and the mainstreamers in the Washington press corps would have to invent him.

Romney in convention speech: ‘Centerpiece’ of Obama campaign ‘attacking success’

TAMPA, Fla. — Mitt Romney accepted the Republican Party’s nomination for president Thursday night and offered a strong argument against President Barack Obama by saying that the “centerpiece of the president’s entire re-election campaign is attacking success.”

“Is it any wonder that someone who attacks success has led the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression?” Romney said to the crowd here at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, ending the three day-long convention. “In America, we celebrate success, we don’t apologize for it.”

The former Massachusetts governor, who paraded into the convention arena to Kid Rock’s song “Born Free,” referenced the late astronaut Neil Armstrong and declared “that when the world needs someone to do the really big stuff, you need an American.”

He opened up about his religion and his family, tearing up briefly as he described how his dad gave his mom a rose everyday, “which he put on her bedside table.”

“That’s how she found out what happened on the day my father died — she went looking for him because that morning, there was no rose,” Romney said with tears in his eyes.

He made a point of praising the women leaders of the Republican Party today who addressed the convention, something he said his mother would have enjoyed seeing.

“I wish she could have been here at the convention and heard leaders like Gov. Mary Fallin, Gov. Nikki Haley, Gov. Susana Martinez, Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice,” he said.
