Expert Testifies to Congress that Obama’s ‘Ignoring Laws’ Could Lead to Overthrow of Government

During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government. 

On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.

“There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restrains that the constitution places on the government,” Cannon said. “Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it.”

“That is certainly something that no one wants to contemplate,” he continued. “If the people come to believe that the government is no longer constrained by the laws then they will conclude that neither are they.”

“That is a very dangerous sort of thing for the president to do, to wantonly ignore the laws,” Cannon concluded, “to try to impose obligation upon people that the legislature did not approve.”

GOP Sen. Lamar Alexander: Nuclear Option ‘Should Be Called Obamacare II’

The Senate triggered the long-awaited “nuclear option” on Thursday, and as far as know, no actual bombs went off. But plenty of Republicans seem ready to explode, especially considering past thoughts by President Obama about such a move. Senator Lamar Alexander took to the floor after the vote to make a comparison between the Senate majority’s power grab and… Obamacare.

Alexander went off on how this is the “most dangerous restructuring” of Senate rules and procedure in its history, warning that this will have long-standing effects, despite the rules only being changed concerning non-Supreme Court nominees.

“This action today creates a perpetual opportunity for a tyranny of the majority because it permits a majority in this body to do whatever it wants to do any time it wants to do it. This should be called Obamacare II, because it is another example of the raw, partisan, political power for the majority to do whatever it wants to do any time it wants to do it.”

Alexander elaborated that the reason the GOP’s picking a fight with Obama’s court nominees is to stop them from being pawns to “implement the president’s radical regulatory agenda” through the courts.

$174K-Per-Year Rangel: ‘No Question About It' Taxpayers Should Help Him Buy Obamacare Plan

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) says that there is “no question” that members of Congress who are paid $174,000 a year are entitled to taxpayer-funded subsidies when they purchase health insurance in the Obamacare exchanges.

In response to questions posed by CNSNews.com on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Rangel said that he considers the subsidies part of Congress’ “overall compensation” even though ordinary Americans who earn $174,000 per year would have to have at least nine dependent children to qualify for the same subsidy if they bought insurance in the Obamacare exchanges.

CNSNews.com: "Earlier today, Congressman Barton on C-SPAN - who like most members of Congress makes $174,000 a year - said that he gets a $10,800 taxpayer subsidy for his health insurance, which most people who make his money would not ordinarily get in the private sector. Do you think members of Congress should be able to get that subsidy?"

Rangel: "We should not be able to get any subsidy that anybody with a life profession, who’d be getting from any other employer, and it’s my understanding that the government’s contribution is on square with the type of job we have in the private sector."

The message was delivered, but was it received?

New order of the ages: New order is not one inspired by God, but by the angel of darkness

Following the vote to suspend the debt ceiling last Wednesday night, 48 year-old Dianne Reidy, a floor stenographer for the U.S. House of Representatives for the last 8 years, surprised everyone when she briefly but unexpectedly took over the microphone on the House floor at about 10:00 pm.

C-Span footage shows her calmly walking to the dais where she began making statements about God, the founding of the United States, our Constitution, and the influence that Freemasonry played in the founding of our country. She warned House members that they could not serve two masters and that God will not be mocked. Unsurprisingly, Mrs. Reidy was whisked from the dais and ultimately taken to George Washington University Hospital for “mental evaluation.” She was released after about two hours of evaluation.

The media, including nearly all conservative and even Christian reporters, columnists and pundits who even bothered to cover the story, portrayed Diane Reidy as someone who suffered a humiliating and very public mental breakdown. They used patronizing language and empathetic inflection usually reserved for the most fragile mental patients, attributing her actions to long hours and stress. They have not only dismissed the actions of Diane Reidy, but dismissed her message as well, even as they continue to decry the state of our nation.

Obviously they did not pay attention to her message, nor did they listen to the interview of her husband by Rick Wiles of TruNews the next day. Mr. Reidy revealed critical details about events that led to her actions on the House floor, providing important context not just to her actions, but to the content of her message.

Nancy Pelosi: Obamacare ‘A Dream Come True,’ Will Go On ‘No Matter How Hard Some Try to Stop It’

MORE LIKE A NIGHTMARE 

IN THE MAKING!!

Speaking during a presser this afternoon, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) asserted that Obamacare is a “dream come true” while railing against the Republican Party’s desire to defund it.

While lamenting that we are currently in the third day of a government shutdown, Pelosi cheered that we are also three days into the implementation of the Affordable Care Act — “A dream come true,” she said, “for many people in our country.”

Under Obamacare, Pelosi asserted, “many people in our country… can fully realize the promise of our founders of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Healthier life, liberty to pursue their happiness.”

Touting the seven million visitors to the federal government’s healthcare.gov website, Pelosi suggested the program has been a popular success in its first two days. “No matter how hard some try to stop it,” she concluded, “the Affordable Care Act is up and running.”

Beware of the Mainstream Media

A recent outburst by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews was a near classic example of how some members of the media are so over the moon about Obama that it serves as a reminder that their long knives are out for the Romney-Ryan ticket.

Matthews’ man-crush on Obama is blatant, but I do take some heart from a recent Newsweek cover and article that tore Obama to shreds with facts and figures. It was so unusual, given the usual news magazine adoration accorded Obama that I found it odd, though welcome.

Much depends, of course, on the coverage that will be given by the network news channels, ABC, NBC, CBS, and we should include PBS as well. From my observation, only C-SPAN makes a good faith effort to provide balanced coverage of both parties and political viewpoints.

And, of course, there’s Fox News. “Fair, balanced and unafraid” is their motto, but Fox has been afraid to get anywhere close to the issues involving Obama’s blatantly false birth certificate, the fact that his closest advisors in the White House are committed Marxists, along with his long association with friends who fit that description such as Bill Ayers.

Moreover, Fox has liberal commentators such as Juan Williams on staff and invites liberals to share their views on air as well. That said, its conservative tilt makes it about the only TV news channel a conservative can watch without wanting to throw up

Matthews became incensed with GOP Chairman Reince Priebus during a recent discussion prior to the convention, riding his hobby horse that any criticism of Obama is racist. This charge is used to inoculate Obama against a reasoned examination of his policies, all of which have brought the nation to the brink of financial collapse, along with massive unemployment and other ills. In the area of foreign affairs, he has thoroughly weakened America’s capacity to influence the world.
