THE BIG FAIL: The Math Doesn’t Work

Obama Claims He Has A $4 Trillion Deficit Reduction Plan But The Obama Campaign Admits His Math Comes Up Short

OBAMA CLAIMS “THE MATH WORKS” BUT THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN DOESN’T “EXACTLY DISAGREE” WITH ANALYSIS THAT SHOWS IT DOESN’T

CLAIM: Yesterday In Ohio, Obama Said Of His Plan “The Math Works” For His Alleged Plan. OBAMA: “I’ve got a plan that will actually create jobs, a plan that will actually create middle-class security. And unlike Mr. Romney, I’m proud to talk about what is actually in my plan because my plan adds up. The math works. If you want to take a look, go to BarackObama.com/plans.” (President Barack Obama, Remarks At Campaign Event, Cleveland, OH, 10/26/12)
REALITY: CNN’s Erin Burnett Fact Checks Obama’s Deficit Plan Again And While “The Obama Campaign Did Not Exactly Like Our Analysis But They Also Didn’t Exactly Disagree With Us.” CNN’s ERIN BURNETT: “The plan doesn’t exactly add up. Inside the glossy it says, President Obama’s plan reduces the deficit by more than $4 trillion over the next decade but how he’s going to do it, well that’s still a bit of a mystery. Of course, the Obama campaign did not exactly like our analysis but they also didn’t exactly disagree with us.” (CNN’s “Out Front With Erin Burnett,” 10/26/12)
  • CNN’s Erin Burnett: “Does It Add Up To The President’s Promise Of Cutting $4 Trillion From The Debt? Well, No.” CNN’s ERIN BURNETT: “But does it add up to the President’s promise of cutting $4 trillion from the debt? Well, no. The nonpartisan CBO analyzed this budget and concluded and I’ll quote them: ‘Over the 2013-2022 period, the cumulative deficit that would result from enacting the President’s budget – $6.4 trillion (or 3.2 percent of GDP) – would be $3.5 trillion larger than the cumulative deficit projected under current law.’ So, that’s $3.5 trillion in new borrowing they have to pay for before they even start the $4 trillion in cuts.” (CNN’s “Out Front With Erin Burnett,” 10/26/12)

D.C. Considering Restricting Sizes Of Sodas

AP
Some on D.C. Council favor restricting sugary drinks
Mark Segraves
WASHINGTON - Several members of the D.C. Council have come out in favor of restricting the sizes of sugary sodas sold in the District - a ban similar to one in New York City.

At a recent debate between candidates for the at-large council seats, current Councilmembers Michael Brown and Vincent Orange said without hesitation they would vote to ban the sale of large drinks.

That news was music to Councilmember Mary Cheh's ears.

"I'm very excited by that," said Cheh (D-Ward 3), who fell one vote short of passing a tax on sodas and other sugary drinks.

Cheh authored the Healthy Schools Act and says she thinks the New York City ban is a good idea she'd like to bring to the nation's capital.

"If I could get the votes to do it I would certainly try to put that in place," Cheh tells WTOP.
"I would consider legislation to do that, I would like to see that done," she added.

While Cheh, Orange and Brown are the only three elected officials to come out in support of the ban, several others say they are open to a ban, including Mayor Vincent Gray.

"I think there probably are some good health reasons to support something like that," Gray said. "We'll be happy to look at it, we haven't taken a position on that one way or another."
Council Chairman Phil Mendelson agreed it's an idea worthy of consideration.

"The issue of nutrition is of critical importance to public health. We need to look at different strategies so people understand what the effect is of the large volume of soft drinks they're drinking," Mendelson said.

Councilmember Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) also was open to considering a ban.
"I am open to anything that will help young people be healthier," Wells said.

[VIDEO] Obama's Planned Parenthood Claim Destroyed...By Planned Parenthood

Published on Oct 20, 2012 by BlackAndRight
Despite the fact the Department of Health and Human Services says there are NO Planned Parenthood clinics in the United States licensed to offer mammograms, President Obama and his surrogates continue to claim a defunding of Planned Parenthood will deny women of services they don't offer.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Calls Elizabeth Warren ‘Catastrophically Antibusiness’

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Thursday launched a new get-out-the-vote effort, sending a video to members and dropping its first piece of direct-mail in the general election, attacking Democratic Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.
The chamber emailed the following video message from Chamber President and CEO Tom Donohue to member businesses:
The chamber says it will reach 7 million members, distributing payroll stuffers, posters, and postcards for businesses to turn out employees and sway their votes.
On top of TV and radio ads already airing, the chamber today issued its first attack mailer of the 2012 general election, the group told ABC News. The chamber had already sent a mailer in support of Sen. Dick Lugar’s losing effort in his Indiana Senate primary; but today it sent this direct-mail piece to targeted registered voters in Massachusetts, where Warren is challenging incumbent GOP Sen. Scott Brown.
The mailer calls Warren “catastrophically antibusiness”:

Wasserman Schultz On Why Obama Seems To Be Ignoring North Carolina: ‘This Is A Big Country’

During an interview with a local North Carolina news station, Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultzwas asked why President Barack Obama has not traveled to the Tar Heel State in several weeks. “This is a big country,” was Wasserman Schultz’s reply.
Wasserman Schultz traveled to North Carolina to rally college students to support President Obama this week. When asked why the president himself has not traveled to the Tar Heel State in several weeks, Wasserman Schulz reminded reporters that first lady Michelle Obama and Vice PresidentJoe Biden have made recent appearances in North Carolina.
“This is a big country,” Wasserman Schultz said.
Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign made news over the week when they announced they werepulling resources out of North Carolina and repositioning them elsewhere in more heavily contested battlegrounds. The move signals that the Romney campaign is comfortable that this state would vote for the Republican presidential candidate in November.

CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE SUPPORTED CONVICTED KILLER OF FBI AGENTS IN 1999 AUDIO TAPE

Democratic Congressional candidate Raul Ruiz, who was arrested for his role in a violent protest on Thanksgiving Day, 1997, doesn't want voters in California's 36th Congressional District to know what he said at a 1999 "Day of Mourning" rally.

Breitbart News has obtained a copy of an audio tape from that 1999 speech when Ruiz (pictured above far left at his 1997 arraignment) proclaimed his support for Leonard Peltier, convicted in 1977 of killing two FBI agents:
What is Leonard Peltier accused of?
Leonard Peltier’s most serious “crime” is that he seeks to rescue in the past, in his culture, in his roots, the history of his people, the Lakota. And for the powerful, this is a crime, because knowing oneself with history impedes one from being tossed around by this absurd machine that is the system.
If Leonard Peltier is guilty, than we are all guilty because we seek out history, and on its shoulders we fight to have a place in the world, a place of dignity and respect, a place for ourselves exactly as we are, which is also very much as we were.
If the Indian people of the North and Indian people of Mexico, as well as the indigenous people of the entire continent, know that we have our own place (being who we are, not pretending to be another skin color, another tongue, another culture), what is left is that other colors that populate the entire world know it. And what is left is for the powerful to know it. So that they know it, and learn the lesson so well that they won’t forget, many more paths and bridges are needed that are walked from below.
On these paths and bridges, you, Leonard Peltier, have a special place, the best, next to us who are like you.
Salud, Leonard Peltier, receive a hug from one who admires and respects you, and who hopes that one day you will call him “brother.”
At a recent debate with incumbent Congressman Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), Ruiz was singing a very different tune. To hear him tell it, he's never been a supporter of convicted FBI agent killer Peltier:

Connecticut Dem Jokes About Corruption (VIDEO)

Bridgeport's Democratic mayor Bill Finch, a supporter of Connecticut congressman Chris Murphy's bid for the U.S. Senate against Republican Linda McMahon, jokes about corruption:
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch is at it again. The Democrat who presided over a 2010 vote casting and counting scandal in the tight race for governor was caught on video Friday guaranteeing Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Christopher Murphy a big result in the state’s largest city–even if it takes days to count.
Bridgeport provided a crucial and dubious margin of victory to Democratic and Working Families Governor Dannel P. Malloy in 2010 amidst unprecedented chaos at the city’s polling places. The 2010 Bridgeport assault on democracy included photocopied ballots, altered hours at polling places, a mysterious bag of votes and Finch’s abuse of the city’s emergency notification system to increase turnout on Election Day.
Murphy, locked in a dead heat with Republican Linda McMahon, needs the grimy Bridgeport Guarantee. He got it from Finch on Friday while visiting small businesses in the poverty-wracked city. A laughing Finch boasts even if it takes a couples of days to get the results,”You can be guaranteed you’re going to get the vote.” Two years after the 2010 fiasco, it remains no laughing matter to the rest of Connecticut.
Murphy and Finch served together in Connecticut’s state Senate for four years.

The Joke's On Joe

By PATRICK GAVIN | 10/11/12 9:56 PM EDT Updated: 10/11/12 9:58 PM EDT
Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan were the two candidates on stage at Thursday’s vice presidential debate but a third character emerged: Joe Biden’s laugh, which didn’t escape the notice of tweeting politicos.
Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway: “Joe Biden’s laughing through talking about Iran sanctions?”
TIME’s Michael Scherer: “Not sure debate cameras have been light tested for Biden’s teeth. Best to watch with sunglasses.”
Washington Examiner’s Philip Klein: “Biden’s strategy seems to be to laugh at Ryan constantly. Will it work to infantalize Ryan, or backfire like Gore sighing?”

TOP TEN REASONS THE 2007 OBAMA VIDEO MATTERS IN 2012

Even before the Daily Caller released the video last night of President Obama's 2007 speech before a majority black audience in Virginia, our corrupt media was already declaring it "old news."Time's Mark Halperin had a full-blown meltdown and BuzzFeed Politics' Ben Smith declared the story over and dead hours before anyone had read it. What's especially pathetic about Smith is that one of his site's signatures is scouring the Internet for old videos and publishing them as … news!

Once the Daily Caller story did hit, and it became clear that Tucker Carlson had found never-before-seen video of Obama in a way voters have never seen him, none of that mattered. The desperate narrative to protect Obama had already been set and, as though the rest of us were insane, the corrupt media doubled down in its efforts to tell those of us who had never seen this video that we had.
Of course, it's all lies – blatant lies meant to control the explosion of an explosive story, meant to justify why the very same media still obsessed over Romney's "47 percent" moment will now downplay and ignore as a nothingburger Obama caught on video spewing racialist division and the kind of wild conspiracy theories a sitting U.S. Senator had to know weren't true.
But New Media is The Media, and this video will get disseminated and voters will see it. And like Romney's "47 percent" moment, this new Obama video is a legitimate news story worth covering.
Here are ten reasons why…
1. The video released by the Daily Caller last night does include footage the media never broadcast or reported on.
Furthermore, we're supposed to believe it's just a coincidence that the footage the media ignored just happens to be the most controversial part, where Barack Obama (who at the time was running to be the Democratic nominee for president) goes off-script and tells a majority black audience that the federal government doesn't care about Hurricane Katrina victims because they're black.
Even Politico's mainstream media water-carrier Dylan Byers had to admit this is the case:
But the full footage of the speech included previously unreported remarks in which Sen. Obama suggested that the federal government helped victims of 9/11 and Hurricane Andrew (in Florida), but did not help the victims of Hurricane Katrina because it didn't care about them as much.
By any measure, new video of a sitting president sewing seeds of racial division is not only news, but big news.
If this were Allen West giving the exact same speech, you better believe it would be everywhere. And he's only a congressman.

Report: Jihadist Who Led Benghazi Attack Was A Former Gitmo Detainee, Released By U.S. In 2007…

On tonight’s Special Report, Bret Baier reported on an exclusive breaking news alert: intelligence sources are convinced the Mideast attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya was directly tied to Al Qaeda.

Catherine Herridge reported that they believe that Sufyan Ben Qumu (whose name has also been transliterated as Sofiane Ibrahim Gammu) was likely involved in the attack, and even may have led the attack on the consulate.

Qumu – a Libyan – was released from the US prison atGuantanamo Bay in 2007 and transferred to Libyan custody under the condition that he would be kept in jail. He wasn’t.
According to his Gitmo files, he was also tied to 9/11 financiers, and his alias is “found on a list of probable Al Qaeda personnel receiving monthly stipends and family support.”

[VIDEO] Senator Rand Paul on the “Charade and Farce” of Debate in the Senate

On Wednesday, Senator Rand Paul (R–KY) requested a vote on two amendments to S.3457, the Veterans Jobs Corps Act. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D–NV) blocked a vote on those amendments and has not allowed a free and fair debate on a very important issue to the American people.

VIDEO: Teachers’ Unions in Their Own Words

You may have heard: Chicago teachers are on strike.
Some facts you may not have seen (unless, of course, you’ve been reading the Foundry): the average Chicago teacher makes $71,000 a year before benefits. That’s $24,000 more than the average Chicago resident, and second only to New York City in teachers’ salaries.
Yet unions are demanding a hefty raise – though they’ve backed down from their initial demand for a 30 percent pay hike. And this is in a city where only 15 percent of fourth graders are proficient in reading, and only 56 percent actually graduate from high school.
So what is the teachers’ strike about, exactly? In a new Heritage video, we present some statements from the Chicago Teachers Union and other teachers’ unions about what exactly their goals are. Are they on strike for the students? For the schools? For themselves? You might be surprised.

US Ambassador to Libya, 3 Embassy Staffers Killed in Attack

US ambassador to Libya and 3 embassy staff members killed in attack
Published September 12, 2012 | FoxNews.com
The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff members were killed Tuesday in an attack on the U.S. consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi, the White House confirmed. President Obama, in a written statement issued Tuesday morning, called the attack "outrageous" and "senseless."
Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens was killed Tuesday night when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff. The protesters, angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad, were firing gunshots and rocket propelled grenades. All of the other officials -- three in all -- hold senior security positions in Benghazi.

Democrats Proudly Declare We All Belong to the Government. Ditch God From Their Platform.

In a statement right out of a communist state, the Democrats started their convention with a bit of propaganda declaring we all belong to the government. Seriously. They started their convention with this video:
This is unreal. The founders must be rolling over in their grave. The constitution starts with “We the People,” not we the government. The government belongs to us, we do not belong to the government. The government is our servant. We do not serve government. We are Americans. We are not all wards or property of the state, despite Barack Obama’s best efforts.
I think we can say the Democrats are fulling embracing Barack Obama’s claim that “you didn’t build that.” It’s clear from this we did not take Barack Obama out of context. The Democrats really do believe government built it all.
This is what the Soviets did in their propaganda. They portrayed the people in service to the state. The collective overrode the individuals. The Democrats are finally embracing their inner marxists. Consistent with this, they’ve ditched God from their platform. Religion is, after all, the opiate of the people and is unnecessary when we are all collectively creatures of the state.
By the way, you’ve now heard the Democrats’ audio that “we all belong to the government.” I’ll see you that and raise you Clint Eastwood. Listen to what he had to say on this topic and tell me who is more in touch with America?

Romney: America needs jobs, 'lots of jobs'

Mitt Romney, in his nomination acceptance speech, acknowledges the "excitement" many Obama voters felt in 2008, but he plans to argue the president has failed to live up to the hype and pledge to refocus the on jobs -- "lots of jobs."

"If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn't you feel that way now that he's President Obama?" Romney plans to say, according to excerpts of his speech. "You know there's something wrong with the kind of job he's done as president when the best feeling you had was the day you voted for him."

The claims follows a theme sounded the night before by running mate Paul Ryan, who in his speech described the president's former supporters as staring up at "fading Obama posters" and still looking for work.
Romney, in his early excerpts, says he'll get the economy moving.

"What is needed in our country today is not complicated or profound. It doesn't take a special government commission to tell us what America needs. What America needs is jobs. Lots of jobs," he says. "I am running for president to help create a better future. A future where everyone who wants a job can find one."

He continues: "President Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans and to heal the planet. My promise ... is to help you and your family."

Romney says he wishes Obama succeeded but "his promises gave way to disappointment and division."
"This isn't something we have to accept. Now is the moment when we can do something," he says in the advance excerpts.

The remarks show the candidate touching on his Mormon faith and his childhood, as well as his business acumen.
